The Apollo Apartments in Apollo Bay is a fantastic place to lay your head for the night. All of the apartments are fully self contained. Close to pubs, restaurants and shops and the beautiful Apollo Bay Beach across the road There is onsite parking available underneath the units. There is a lift if you have trouble using stairs. The staff never mentioned it though and just said where the stairs were. If you have issues using stairs this may not be the best place to stay if the lift was not available. Overall it was great value and a very nice and tidy apartment. You could easily base yourself here and do all of the Great Ocean Road touristy things.
If you like to stay in a wonderful place near Apollo Bay, Great Ocean Road, then you are here at the right place. Wonderful ocean view, very nice villas and and a most lovely landlady. You can here have a great time near the village, but very quiet and with a beach without people. Thankyou Lili for your best support! Doris & Peter
Stayed one night here during out roadtrip to 12 apostles.
Arrived late but managed to self checked in. Easy and convenient. Room was super impressive for the price that we paid.
There are several eateries just minutes away from our motel, and about 3 ‘mins walk to the beach front.
Would definitely recommend!

From when I first arrive at the Motel, greeted with a beautiful smiles and great information, shown the room, very clean they where all so friendly and helpful Lindy, Jimmy, Pete and Nina.Stay 4 night's had a Standard Queen Room would recommend this Motel and how clean the room was. Will return Thank you all Barry
I arrived at 9pm and was disappointed that the front counter closed at 8pm. However, the motel worked with me and left a key out for my room. The problem was that it is such a huge complex and there were no clear signs that I spent 15 minutes looking for my room. However, once I found where I needed to be, the room was lovely . I wanted to order breakfast but because I was late in I missed the opportunity to do this - can this be done online? I then had to go looking for some breakfast in the morning which I didn't want to do. I would stay at this motel in future as it was well presented and clean, as well as handy to the beach.
The hotel is not far from the center of Apollo town, just a few minutes drive away. Because it was Christmas Eve, many restaurants and shops in the town were closed, and the supermarkets were not closed. Free parking
The front desk of the hotel is on the first floor. It is a Chinese boy with a very good attitude. He gave us a map and showed us where to see the scenic spots. After checking the name, he gave the key to check in without deposit.
The balcony and bathroom are not small, and the bedroom is a bit small, with only one large bed, and can only accommodate 2 people. The room looks out to the sea, there are refrigerators, microwaves, hot water kettles, towels, bathing supplies, no kitchen can not cook, this is a bit inconvenient
Check out at 10 in the morning, put the key on the coffee table, and have free wifi
The hotel is on the edge of the Great Ocean Road. It used to be convenient. Next to it is a small town that can be supplemented with some daily necessities. The service attitude of the hotel was relatively poor. We booked the room. When we arrived at the hotel, it was more than 9:00 in the evening. The front desk of the hotel was closed. We called and asked for the procedure. The receptionist made a half-day complaint and said that we disturbed him to sleep. There was no quilt in the room, the weather was a little cold, and the air conditioning in the room was not strong. There was no way to be familiar with the surroundings. At this time, there was no way to change places and make a mess.
I stayed here for a total of 3 nights on my GOR adventure. The accommodation is fairly basic but you get what you pay for and I thought it was reasonably good value. The rectangular room was not very large but I had no intention of spending more time than I needed to in the room. The double bed was clean and comfy although it barely fit across the width of the room. I had to squeeze between it and the heater to get to the other side where there was a small side table with drawers and a window over looking the street and the rear of the old post office. There was a small sink with taps, good for brushing teeth, a rack for hanging clothes and low stand to set a suitcase on. Across the hallway there were male and female toilets and separate male and female bathrooms. The bathrooms even had a bath (well, the male bathroom, anyway, I didn't go into the female bathroom but I assume it was the same) as well as a shower. No sink though, hence the teeth brushing in the sink in the bedroom. At the end of the hall, towards the internal stairs, there was a unisex bathroom (and toilet, I think). I only gave it a glance as I used the facilities across the hall from my room. Residential guests accessed the rooms via a steel grate staircase at the back (due to covid protocols). The staff were friendly and kindly filled my thermos with hot water in the mornings before I set off on the day's adventures. On my second night there I was awoken at stupid o'clock by the window rattling. I'd seen the forecast and I thought it was the wind that was shaking the window frame. It's an old pub, once the Ballarat Hotel, probably around 120 years old, or more. It was a bit annoying but I managed to get back to sleep. Approximately 40 minutes later I was awoken by the rattling again. This time I couldn't get back to sleep which was far more annoying as there was very little I could do. It was pre-dawn and I didn't want to wake any of the other guests. And the Apollo Bay Bakery wouldn't be open for quite some time yet so I couldn't even go and get a coffee. A few hours later, as I was setting off for the day's adventuring, I caught a few minutes of radio from Melbourne. Turned out there had been a couple of small earthquakes in the early hours of the morning in the vicinity of Apollo Bay. Despite what people have said, it turns out that, in fact, I could not sleep through an earthquake.
Apollo Bay is the town where our family stayed the longest on this self-driving Great Ocean Road trip. Our family of five, two adults and three children, stayed in this cabin for three nights in a row. In addition to the beautiful scenery nearby, the most important thing is that it provides bicycles, boats, fishing rods, golf clubs, etc., and you can go to nearby courses. , play at the beach, we have fun every day! The owner Amanda and a friend of hers are taking care of these cabins. They are very nice people and can provide a lot of help to guests. For those of us living in domestic cities, burning wood in the fireplace to keep warm is a very interesting experience!

GGuest UserWe had a house layout for our family stay, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining room. A very cosy setup and very smart details, like heating lights in the toilet (it gets very cold in winter and the nice warm lights in toilet helps with the cold). The beds come with heating pads as well which is a great surprise. The kitchen was very well furnished and we love the warm lightings in the house. Great decorations in the house, makes me want to do the same for my own place. Just a very cosy, welcoming place to stay. Great for family want to stay more than 1 night. Location is at Apollo Bay town and just across the beach. Near eateries and groceries. The place is so welcoming that you simply want to cook and eat with the family. Thanks so much for warm reception and thanks for keeping the place so cosy.
GGuest UserStayed 2 nights in a double room with king bed. Reasonable price for a luxurious room I would honestly call hotel-standard. Extremely spacious room and bathroom. Well equipped kitchen. Entire place, including bathroom, was spotless. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good wifi speed. Excellent location in town on the main street, close to all the shops and beach.
GGuest UserWe booked a family room as well as the twin room with balcony. Both are very clean & have everything we need. Very comfy & quite spacious. Lovely bathroom & great shower. Not listed in facilities though both rooms have a microwave as well as bar fridge, kettle, toaster, hair dryer. Also mugs, glasses, plates & cutlery. 2 towels for every person (8 in family room), bath mats, spare doona. Only saying this as I had read a couple of reviews here saying bath mats were missing. Huge supply of toiletries nicely presented as well as tea, cappuccino sachets, sugar & a couple small long life milks. Large flat screen TV in both rooms (2 in the family room). Location is great, only a minutes walk to the Main Street. Bucket of umbrellas at the font door for guests is a nice touch too. Balcony view is great! To be honest, after reading reviews I was getting a little worried however we are more than happy with our rooms which have barely a fault so I thought I’d better post this update. So far the only fault I can see is a bit of damage on the bottom of the bathroom door however this doesn’t affect our stay at all. 5 stars from me & my family. The owners here have obviously taken note of past reviews.
GGuest UserWe were overall very pleased with our stay here. From when I rung with questions before booking online (& then booked over phone instead) to when we left, we were looked after well by Anna & another female receptionist (whose name I did not catch). Our room was very clean, in particular the bathroom, which was a priority for us. Basic modern room, which is all we needed. Location was fantastic. We would just all bring our own pillows should we stay again in the future to help improve our sleep quality, as although the beds were comfy none of us felt the pillows were.
GGuest UserThe facilities are not very new, the decoration style of the room is relatively ordinary, and the flush toilet sometimes does not work well. However, there are a lot of rooms, making it suitable for a group of people.
GGuest UserIt's in a perfect location just 5 minutes from the coach stop from Geelong & Melbourne, and just behind the main street and shops while also being very quiet. There is an IGA supermarket about 2 or 3 minutes walk away from stocking up on food. It's probably the best YHA I've stayed in for a very long time, it just meets all the things you'd want while travelling, and at a great price. It has 2 main levels with very spacious kitchens and on both levels, and even a TV room with comfortable couches and free Netflix and free-to-air TV as well as a USB slot if you've brought your own movies and TV shows to watch. The BBQ is pretty decent as well, it's electric so it was as easy as turning a knob to get it started, I grabbed some sausages from a local butcher, very easy and delicious. The rooftop area was great for hanging out as well, as long as it isn't raining as it's open air. I was lucky enough to be there on Christmas Day and met the staff who were friendly and welcoming enough to put on a bit of a Christmas lunch for the travelling guests. I did not expect such a gift of kindness, they had put out a few platters of hot food and sweets as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which was a very thoughtful Christmas surprise. The staff also sat down and chatted to guests for a while as well which was lovely. It really made me feel at home. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, the dorm rooms were fine and spacious enough, the bunk beds did move a bit but that's to be expected when they're free standing.
We arrived late at 7PM and the receptionist gone. But they are very organised and no hassle at all. Love it. They left the message on my email, with a code number to take the key in the motel. They also left the phone number which I could reach to the receptionist directly. Room is clean, quite, spacious. Parking lot is easy. Love love love this place.
GGuest UserWe recently stayed as a family of 4 in a beach view lodge. We booked our accommodation directly and received complimentary wine and chocolates, always a great touch! Not much to look at from the outside but lovely inside! There's a gas fireplace and you can see the ocean from inside the bathroom/shower or you can close the privacy screen. Close to town as well. The main difference between the top lodges and the ocean view lodges is the location. The top lodges are located higher up the hill. Still a fantastic view from either!
GGuest UserI booked this hotel based on the reviews I read on TA and Google. I made the right decision. The location is very good, short 5 minute walk to the beachfront, restaurants and grocery stores. I had a ground floor room, very clean, adequate furniture for 2 people with 2 chairs, work desk and outdoor table and chairs. It’s not 5 star, but you shouldn’t expect that with the price. Bed was comfortable, hot water aplenty but it does take a few minutes to come through the pipes. I extended the booking and the owner was happy to offer a discount. Would I stay again - YES
AAnonymous UserThe cabin is very amazing, the view is very good, the sea view room. We arrived at night. When we first entered, we felt a little disappointed. The cabin was small and the public bathroom. We got up the next morning and opened the curtains. We were surprised. The large lawn had small flowers and the blue sea in the distance. The cows and alpacas were eating grass leisurely. It was especially beautiful and will come again next time! !
