Find the Cheap Grindelwald Hotels

We are staying in Grindelwald for a couple of days and we spent one night in this hotel. The location is a bit far away from the train station and it’s exhausting to carry heavy luggage over the slopes between station and hotel. The price is reasonable and the balcony view of Eiger is stunning. The hotel looks quite old where no ventilation system can be found in washroom. Wi-Fi signal is poor and we were unable to connect it in the room. We appreciate the breakfast as the food quality is good but seems the number of staff is limited. They are required to work in the reception for check in/out enquiries and at the same time busy rushing to the breakfast area to clean up the tables and food.

Wow! That really sums up our experience of staying at Hotel Cabana in one word. A lovely family-run hotel that is small enough to be super-friendly, without compromising on standards. We had a spacious room with a balcony providing stunning views of the valley, and the Eiger. Chairs with warm rugs, and a table meant this was a comfortable place to sit and simply absorb those views which changed as the light shifted during the day. Inside the spacious room, a small table and chairs made a thoughtful addition for those wishing to eat there. A fridge, a kettle, cups, glasses, bottle of water and complimentary bottle of red wine from the hosts on arrival all helped to make this feel like home for the two weeks we were there. There was always ample hot water and as well as replenishing the tea/coffee when the room was cleaned daily, there was an additional selection box of teas at reception from which guests could select at any time. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and although there are no evening meals served here, the hosts were more than happy to book restaurant tables or taxis on our behalf. They also helped to identify useful contacts for activities in the valley. A ski room with heaters,meant our wet gear was dry and warm for the next day. And, although we didnt use them, we noted that a small lounge area (with drinks and snacks to purchase), a sauna and a fitness area were also available. We had the most wonderful stay and would highly recommend Hotel Cabana

The hotel is a four-star hotel, the waiters are dressed in traditional clothes, the breakfast is delicious, and the coffee is very good. There is a free snack in the afternoon, but the drinks are paid. The hotel is located inside, some distance from the railway station, and it is Panshan Road. If you carry the suitcase, it is best to take the bus or contact the hotel in advance.

This hotel can score 100 points. First of all, Grindelwald is the most convenient and most suitable place to stay in the entire Jungfrau region. This hotel is also very good. The bus stop is free of charge at the bus stop and free mountain bike rental. Although the pool is small but the scenery is invincible, the breakfast is superior to other Swiss restaurants. The parking space is sufficient and free. Except for the expensive price, the others are perfect. Oh, it is my problem.

Highly recommend staying at this hotel. The owners are angels on earth. They were so kind to my friends and I. I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. Everyone who works here is so kind and always willing to help. The breakfast is made with local ingredients and the views from our room were incredible. Thank you for making our stay in Grindelwald memorable. I will be returning

The worst experience. They never mention anywhere that in the snowy season the only way to get to the hotel is by gondola. Our train arrived at grindelwald at 4.18 and there was no gondola service anymore because they run out at 4 pm. We couldn't get to the hotel anymore, we contacted the staff and they didn't care, we lost the reservation, they didn't give us anything back, not even a miserable courtesy breakfast. We let ourselves be carried away by some comments where it says that it has beautiful views but the way to get there is terrible, if you don't get on the gondola before 4 pm there is no way and you can't go down to town either. I do not recommend it at all. Ay The end we stayed at the derby hotel because there was no other place and that was great, everyone was very friendly, the room was excellent, it was right next to the station, I would return 100 times more with them.

The hotel is uphill at the other end of grindelwald, not too close to Grindelwald station and Coop, fortunately the door is bus 121, 122, 123, but at first I saw Google map that it was a 15-minute walk from the train station only, but I knew it was quite hard to push luggage up the slope  Fortunately, it is close to Pfingstegg and First cable car stations, and Jungfrau must either take bus 121, 123 or train to Grindelwald Terminal station, change to the Eiger Cable car, or go to Grindelwald station and take the Train to Kleine Scheidegg Although I live up to 4/F, the room has no air conditioning, so insects have entered the room🫨 But the scenery is beautiful, the room is big, the worst thing is no refrigerator, can only cook the noodles in the room Breakfast itself thought there was very little food, but you can order hot drink and egg separately, which is quite good Although seeing hotel restaurant dinner seems to be praised by many people, but too expensive, the cheapest is the 4-course menu d fine din, have to over CHF100

Hotel Alpenhof is a classic Swiss mountain hotel - lots of pine paneling and flower boxes on the windows. It has a small restaurant that serves Swiss specialties at dinner and a nice breakfast buffet. But, best of all, it has killer views of the north face of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. I was disappointed when we checked in late and found we were reassigned from the room with a flower bedecked balcony I had booked to a suite with a patio but I quickly got over it. The suite had a bedroom, living room with a couch, coffee table and desk, and a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. It was great to have an extra room to spread out all our hiking gear and the patio, with a table, chairs and umbrella overlooking the Eiger, was a great place to hang out after long hikes in the mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant stayed open late after that late arrival and even allowed us to take pizzas back to our patio one night after an especially arduous hike. There certainly are fancier hotels in Grindelwald, but the Alpenhof is a clean, friendly and comfortable option we sincerely recommend.

Get off at the Grinderwald train station, then take bus 121 or 122, and then push the luggage up a slope. The B&B is halfway up the slope. We were too tired, so we got off the bus and called the boss to pick us up. The shuttle fee was 10 francs for a short 2-minute round trip. I was so sad~~~ There are really beautiful views everywhere, the B&B environment and breakfast are good There are many Asians staying here.

The dirty braided brother and the young lady at the front desk are very nice and enthusiastic. The hotel is good overall, that is, the breakfast is relatively simple, not too much to eat. Downstairs of the hotel is a small ski resort, there are also rental ski equipment and coaches, very convenient, and the scenery is very good! The room is also quite large, and it is perfectly fine to spread out four or five suitcases.
