The hotel is located in a large manor, a separate building, very quiet, the surrounding scenery is also beautiful, the interior decoration is antique, more historical, very in line with our needs and expectations.

Great location. Great concept. Friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable bed. First time at Thistle. My room was personalised with a welcome message on my TV on arrival. Breakfast was good too. Will book again.

This hotel is right next to Watford Junction station - an easy walk round the corner. (Check on google maps and take the short cut rather than walk along main road). The hotel seems clean and modern. It is obviously very popular with people visiting WB studios (which is what we were doing). Stayed in a family room set up for 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 4). The beds for the children are the usual budget hotel foldaway types and not very sturdy but fine for one night. The room was generally clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good with a moderate selection (not as wide a selection as Premier Inn but fine for fueling up before heading off to WB). The WB shuttle bus goes from outside the station so a 3 min walk back to the bus stop. Overall a perfectly adequate and well located budget option for WB stay. We came on the train from across London. If we had come in the car I would have chosen something outside of the town centre. If you are travelling with kids and hoping to eat out in the evening after you get here (which we didn't) then you've got a bit of a walk back to the main part of town with the shopping centre and chain restaurants. The only annoying thing about the stay was the noise at night - and it had nothing to do with the railway! We were woken up by talking and doors banging in the corridor a couple of times. Whether or not it was because our room had a connecting door to another room I don't know but someone's alarm went off at 4.45am and it sounded like it was in our room. Whichever poor person had such an early start on a Friday then proceeded to get showered and dressed in a rather loud fashion and felt the need to constantly talk loudly to the rest of the people in that room. That's not the hotel's fault of course but bear in mind this is a budget hotel and the sound proofing is minimal.

I stayed here in august for 2 nights as I got tickets to Strictly at Elstree studios, very conveniently placed and rooms were clean. When the house keeping came into the rooms to clean they had moved my hairdryer (£120 GHD Hairdryer) which was no issue as the room was spotless, beds were made and fresh towels were given. I left my hairdryer at the hotel and once I realised I phoned up the next day. After much confusion due to the receptionist not speaking amazing English I got told they would speak to house keeping and I would get a phone call within an hour… 2 hours later I phoned the hotel and got told they hadn’t had the opportunity to speak to house keeping and got told again I would receive a phone call… again no phone call. I phoned back the next day and got told I would receive a phone call that day, after an hour I got a call to say the head of housekeeping wasn’t in over the bank holiday and they would phone me in a few days. On the Monday I received a phone call to say that my hairdryer was there and that I could organise a courier for collection or come and pick it up myself. On Thursday I drove the 50 miles each way to go and pick up my hair dryer only to be told once I arrived that it was a mistake and they in fact did not have it. I was told they tried to phone me to inform me of this, however I was able to quickly shoot down that lie after going through my phone records and revealing no missed calls or voicemails from the hotel. I asked to speak to the manager, after being told many times that all procedures had been followed (which they clearly had not as if they had I would have my hairdryer back) I was left without my £120 hairdryer and had also done a 100 mile round trip for no reason as a member of staff could not call me to relay this information. I was able to tell the staff which room I was in and exactly where this hair dryer had been left and still nothing. The manager took my phone number and email and I was told that I would get reimbursement for the cost of fuel, my time and some sort of compensation due to what had happened (manager suggested a complementary stay). I have now waited a week to hear from the manager and have had nothing from them, meaning not only have I been left without a £120 hairdryer due to either theft or someone not cleaning a room properly, but have also wasted 4 hours of my day driving round the M25 and waiting for them to find out what happened (with still no answers) and the fuel it has taken to drive the 100+ miles to get there. Overall, the customer service at this hotel is shocking, no one seemed to have an idea what is going on and the lack of communication between staff is atrocious. I am hoping the manager who made these promises to me will see this review and get in touch regarding the above.

We stayed as part of the Harry Potter Studio Tour deal. It’s fantastic value! Parking is included in the package. Two adults and two children in one room. A double bed and a sofa bed (a bit springy but doable for one night). The hotel staff were really friendly. We booked to use the pool which was great. Breakfast was really fresh, plenty of options to choose from and well organised. We opted to go for dinner at The Plough which is a few minutes drive away and would also recommend eating there. A really good trip ☺️

We have just come back from a 2 night stay. We chose this hotel as its a 30 minute drive from Wembley and wasn't expensive like the other hotels. We arrived 2 hours early for check in however the gentleman at reception checked us in no problem and gave us access to our room. Our room was a good size with a double bed and additional pull out sofa bed. The room was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay such as an iron, kettle, hairdryer and towels. There was even a little sign in the bathroom letting us know if we had forgotten anything just let them know. Breakfast both days was lovely with plenty of choice. It did get busy towards the end but we were advised of this on check in. We didn't get back from Wembley till 3am this morning but after a quick email to reception at half 7, they sorted out late check out so we could have a bit more sleep before our 4.5 hour journey home. The staff here work so hard and it seemed to be the same 2 faces our entire 3 day stay. I honestly don't know how they do it and keep smiling. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return.

Very clean and comfortable. Spacious room. The room is not very old. You won't feel sticky on the carpet. Great service. The value of the breakfast is just ok. The location is convenient. Very close to the park and there are many restaurants nearby.
