We stayed for one Saturday night as we were dining in a local restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and offered some homemade cake. Our room was Ochre on the first floor. Nice and clean and an impressive bathroom. Floors are a little creaky but add to the ambience. Breakfast was freshly made and tasty. You are asked to order the night before. This is a high end B&B which we would happily return to.

We stayed at The Relish for one night and it has one of the best breakfasts I've had. The staff are kind and helpful and the rooms are well appointed. The only downside is the parking situation. It can be difficult to find parking since it is on the street, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker. I

“Folkestone’s only 5 star accommodation”. Firstly. If you are going to make this kind of claim you need to back it up. I am not sure what the owners consider “5 star” accommodation” but I can promise you this is not it. So immediately it’s all a bit awkward because this is not what you were expecting. Firstly it’s not a hotel. There is no bar, no restaurant. A 3 star B&B at best with a musty aroma. The reception is manned part time by a young lady who does not greet you with a welcoming smile. Or any smile come to that. We had ticked free parking on *********** but were told we needed to pay £3.50 for a permit. There was definitely no free drink on arrival. Our room was on the top floor. (chimney) There is no lift. If you have mobility issues or struggle with stairs this is not the place for you as no one will offer tk help with bags. The room. Top floor. IKEA Malm furniture. Super king bed was comfy. Only one bed side lamp. Ancient tv in front of a mirror so you can’t really use the mirror. Kettle with Nescafé instant. - not sure who considers this 5 star?? Walls with cracked paint. Scuffs up the wall. Bathroom has a really wonky floor with a light bulb out making a dingy room even more so. If they had claimed to be a 3 star B&B the review would be ok. But they are claiming to be a 5 star luxury. If you want 3 star B & B stay. You’ll be happy. If you want luxury go to the Burlington for a similar price and don’t waste your money on this rubbish.

What a find ! Booked as a last minute break. Beautiful house, rooms enormous and extremely well maintained. Home made cake on arrival with access to a huge lounge with tea, coffee machine. Great choice for breakfast which was delicious. Will be booking again very soon.

On arrival found the place to be very welcoming. First impressions very good. At bed time found my son’s camp bed had 3 springs missing and was lop sided. Had been made up this way, was not safe to sleep. Went down to reception and rang the bell, heard ring inside the occupier who lives on sites living accommodation but no one arrived after 5 mins. So called the main phone line and the lady answered immediately, felt like we weren’t so important once checked in but she was quick to answer the phone to a new client enquiring potentially. To be fair it was sorted swiftly but it was a bit baffling someone made it up in such poor condition. We had an early start the morning after and went down to get the kids a bowl of cereal before we left for our journey to France. The lady who runs it, quickly scrambled upon the breakfast room and rudely announced we had not paid for breakfast. My bad entirely but it was not mentioned on checking in and I just assumed it was included. I quickly put her at ease and said I’d happily pay for the breakfast. On checking out I offered to pay for the two children’s cereal bowls (aged 2 & 9) expecting for it to be waived as it was so minimal but was charged £10. Such a shame because genuinely really enjoyed the facilities and would have considered staying again because we really enjoyed our trip to France. Little things like that go so far and it’s the difference between becoming a returning customer or not. Pretty disappointed.

Definitely recommend The Relish. The location is great. Very close to the harbour and beach. Also close to Battle of Britain memorial. It's very clean and Julia was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. I really enjoyed my 2 night stay here. Would stay again for sure. There was £3.30 daily charge to park on the street out front, which was convenient for me. The weather although great did not hinder my stay thankfully. Thank you to all the staff at The Relish.

A lovely nights stay on business. Very quiet and relaxed environment, lovely building. Hosts were attentive with a fantastic breakfast and lovely poached eggs. Room was clean tidy and modern. Highly recommend a short stay here at the relish, with prime location!

How this hotel is ever given 5 stars is unbelievable to me it’s a very average hotel with tiny rooms and a mean spirited attitude. The indigo room is the smallest room I have stayed in since the 90’s , a tv the size of an iPad,drafty windows and a very average bathroom (some White Company toiletries do not make a bathroom luxury) the room is not even as good as an average premier inn and not even close to their plus rooms , never mind excellent chains like Resident or Moxy all so so much better and none of them claim to be luxury. I should have been wary when you book and are sent the longest list of terms and conditions I have ever seen . I’ve stayed in lower grade hotels in Folkestone but these hotels try to make up any shortcomings by offering helpful friendly customer service 4pm check in is just wrong even 11am check out is a bit mean Parking is difficult nearby so other Hotels have a link to the council parking site and sort out cheap all day parking this hotel doesn’t offer. So what is good about the hotel , a nice reception and lounge you never go in and their is complimentary coffee and water yet the complimentary wine and beer mentioned on the website is never offered ,btw free Wi-Fi is not really a selling point these days . To be fair breakfast is included which is just average the avocado on the toast couldn’t be spread any thinner , seating in the dining room is tired and maybe cleaning the splattered wall and door frame at the table where we ate would be nice . I wonder if the 6ft bedhead that came away from the wall and could have fallen on us at any point as it was inadequately fixed to the wall would be covered in those terms and conditions. However you do get a slice of cake!
