Hotel surpassed our expectations particularly having read some other reviews . Staff were all friendly attentive and efficient . We arrived late due to delayed transfer but were greeted by the manager who took luggage to our room where there was a lovely cold platter arranged for us . Staff in bars and restaurants also excellent with a special mention for Janos who looked after us most evenings .Food was good and plentiful for all meals . Room was very nice with sunny balcony and mountain view . Thoroughly enjoyed the pool area which was excellent for relaxing after skiing . Access to slopes was first class and nice sunny terrace to relax on after coming off . only minor complaint was the fabric free area which effectively was off limits for us unless we finished skiing early .

Wonderful hotel in an incredible location!! This was our second visit to the Riml and it continues to exceed expectations. The hotel and wellness facilities are superb and every member of the team could not be more helpful. The Sky lounge wellness area is a superb place and the sauna master Miguel is exceptional. We were also very well looked after by Janos and Edit and we will definitely be back!!!

Location amazing, halfway up the mountain. Totally ski in ski out. Extremely friendly manager welcome with a nice Christmas Eve evening.Restaurant food amazing. Designated dining table for the duration and so you build a rapport with waiting staff. Amazing terrace for snacks & drinks with stunning views. Facilities brilliant. Spa like pool and rooftop jacuzzi and spa beds to relax. An absolute treat after a day skiing. Ski hire equipment under hotel and easy to organise with hotel complimentary lockers. Ski resort lovely and quiet not much queueing and lovely wide runs. We had the most amazing time, so we are booked to go again this Christmas!!

Ever since we arrived to hotel door, everything was handled perfectly. Someone took our car keys hand over glass of prosecco and dream holiday started. Excellent service, great food all in all real value for the money. Special thanks to Sauna Master, what a pro. We are from Finland and still he was able to give us a total new sauna experience and it was really good. Price level in hotel (drinks, food, massage) was OK comparing the quality of the hotel. In another words high-end hotel with decent pricing for extra services. Afternoon snack was amazing same as dinner and breakfast. The room we had was very nice, good daily cleaning. We will return!

This wonderful hotel is under new management. The constant presence of Jorg, and his management team. engaging with guests and actively also working alongside staff results in them being accessible and easy to approach - to me it shows leadership as well as management - Jorg is brilliant at hitting the balance and has set in place a good team to back him up. I particularly welcome the 'adults only' change as disruption by some families/children was getting out of hand (despite best efforts by previous management). The food overall was fabulous (new chef) - hard to single out any particular aspect but the evening desserts (presentation, tastes, combinations - were wonderful). Riml USP ... The Tuesday/Friday afternoon live music addition - I was lucky enough to be there on the Friday with the Saxophone player and dancing on the terrace - never experienced anything like that (of course the super weather played a part) but if more of that becomes a 'thing' then Riml will develop another unique experience (they already have the best terrace by a country mile!)... and the different speciality food offer (PS Oysters were outstanding!) worked well. Limiting the terrace to guests only is great (previously difficult to find a spot on a sunny afternoon) - however I know this may not be something that is wholly sustainable - I guess only time will tell. The Wellness area was super (great to be able to swim with no noisy splashing children!!) Panorama dining area is the clear favourite (awesome views) - personally I would not be happy to be in the other dining area. I know that some guests seemed to have some contested charges on their bill at the end of the stay (mine was fine). Previously, because of the relatively stable serving staff year on year there was a good understanding of the system, whereas this year because staff were predominantly new it was perhaps inevitable that some teething problems would creep in. Unfortunate, but really not the end of the world as queries seemed to be very quickly resolved which is the important thing (PS I hope that the consistency will begin to build up again.) I love the new Blue Birdie bar (old Putt Inn) - super atmosphere to relax after dinner - feels elegant and laid back. Room - I was in a single sud which is perhaps a bit small for 2 weeks (my regular ski break), but I do like having the balcony with view down the valley. I think the change of management has brought a refreshed and energised vision and it is clear that there is a definite shift 'up' in standard/quality. I think the intention is for more, but this will take a season or two to deliver to the level they want. It was also very good to see Gerholdt Riml around albeit with low profile - he is clearly keen to ensure all remains well and running smoothly. Ski service/ski quality in the shop remains as welcoming, professional and excellent as ever with the same brilliant team on hand to advise and assist. PS if this is a first visit -

This really is a beautiful hotel. We loved that it was adults only, ski in and out, with amazing Spa areas. We booked a double room, no balcony. Our room was on the 3rd floor above the Blue Birdie and golf area. It was very peaceful and overlooked the mountains and t-bar Lift. The room was spacious, with a large bathroom. It was clean and fresh. No balcony but lots of windows. Decor wise I’d say old fashioned, rather than stylish or contemporary. You even had a good old fashioned metal key to get in. Other rooms had electronic key cards. The images on line suggest the hotel does have more modern stylish rooms than ours was. The bed and bedding was comfy and felt of good quality. The room was basic, no tea/coffee, fridge or mini bar. A glass bottle of water was topped up and left everyday. It was far too hot in the room, even with the radiators off, but that’s been our experience in all Austrian ski hotels, so we was expecting it. There is room service for food and drinks, but no obvious menu to order from. So we didn’t bother. We instead purchased some drinks and snacks from the ski shop under the hotel. The shower was over the bath with a bi fold screen. The bathroom was basic, but fresh, clean with a heated towel rail. There were limited bathroom room amenities. There was a liquid hand soap, a hair shower gel and a bottle of moisturiser (all lovely). No Separate shampoo and conditioner, I have long hair so regretted not taking my own. Wall based hairdryer was ok. There were robes, slippers and a little bag to carry your bits and bobs when using the spa areas. Towels were fine, one hand towel and one bath towel each, a floor mat, no flannels. Housekeeping were excellent and in every day. Fabulous and real ski in and out, each room has an allocated ski locker. Our locker was in an awkward corner which was a pain, but all the others seemed ok. The ski hire shop is below the hotel and has a large ski shop which also sold some drinks/snacks and other essentials for skiing and not skiing. This was handy as there are no shops or shopping options in Hochgurgl. Its purely ski hotels and ski lifts. You can get the cable car down to the main road and catch a bus into Obergurgl where there are lots of shops, some restaurants and a mini supermarket. There were a few places to eat/drink up the mountains whilst out skiing but most days we didn’t eat lunch as we came down and ate at the hotel as it was amazing. Ski conditions were not the best due to the unusually hot weather and lack of snow, we were unlucky. The slopes were either solid and icy early or lumpy slushy come lunchtime. Excellent lift system, lots of blues, reds and couple of blacks. There were some quite challenging blues for learners (icy, narrow and busy), made worse when busy. It was busy at times but our instructor said it was quieter than it had been. You can get the bus or ski across to other resorts if you have the region pass. We loved Hochgurl, just wish

My wife did the research and found me a last minute skiing holiday at the Hotel Riml. As I was holidaying on my own she was slightly concerned that it might not be up to my expectations. She had nothing to worry about. The hotel staff and management were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was very good indeed and you skied directly from the rear of the hotel. Thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable skiing holiday experience. Hopefully I’ll be seeing some of you again next year.

We stayed at the hotel for the 5th time but after not staying in the last 4= years, previously the Riml was a wonderful family owned Austrian hotel the owners and staff welcomed us and seemed to remember us from previous visits. At the end of 2022 the Riml family let the hotel to a management company and everything has changed for the worse - glasses with chips in which would never have happened previously - scrambled egg in the breakfast buffet containers was often cold - staff morale is low the staff themselves work really hard and are under appreciated by the managing company - continual off beat music is playing in all the common parts - under pressure to order food for dinner within a set time in the evening (730pm) - we had lunch the chicken was straight out of the freezer and salmon with pasta tasted of cardboard and had also been frozen - the bed sheets are nylon and no options to change Overall if you are happy to stay in a 3 star city hotel this hotel will feel like home for you, otherwise the Riml does not warrant 4 stars. Hotel staff have mentioned many quests have mentioned the Riml has deteriorated and are very disappointed. The Riml family - if you are reading this please come back and take the hotel back into the family or find a better management company. The Riml name Is on the side of the hotel of course. It’s a sad development to report for this hotel, everything has changed for the worse.
