Amirandes Grecotel Boutique Resort

Advantages:1. The personnel all were very friendly from the lobby till the cleaning lady trying to solve all your problems 2. Minimalistic architecture give the space to breath very beautiful decorations Disadvantages: 1. Please don’t go to the restaurants of this hotel overpriced and the food sucks for two person 200 euros for a food that cost less than 20. 2. Rooms we’re comfortable but overpriced for the things that offered.

We love Greece and have been many times, Crete being the latest visit this July for our summer holidays. We choose Amirandes Resort based on reviews and photos. Not sure where to start with this one, but firstly the two week holiday cost us just under £14’000 which included easy jet flights. So I’ll leave it to your imagination how much of the £14k were flight costs! Hotel package was sold to us as all inclusive and al la carte but turned out to be comfort package, which was buffet, al la carte was extra which we decided not to venture our taste buds with as still feeling bitter with the other experience. The public areas of hotel were very nice and as per the photos. Not really many photos of the rooms on internet. Only photos are what the hotel put up which is far from what you get on check in. We opted for the superior room with pool, all I can say is pure awful. My photos will save me writing 1000s of words in my rant. We feel so let down, the room was tatty, dirty and old. The fixtures and fittings 20 years old and original from when hotel was built. Bathroom was small, dirty and mould on floor and loose fixtures such as shower head. The blinds are not black out and rather filthy. The mini bar warmed the drinks rather than cooled them. Maintenance was carried out on our room a couple of times, not at our request but still had to vacate the room while it was completed. The private pool had a scummy mark around it and pool guy was seen a couple of times spraying some chemical on the mark and scrubbing with a sponge to no avail. The buffet was horrible, little selection and mostly always cold. Toby carvery offers warmer food. We tried one of the 8 restaurants at 7pm one evening and asked if we had a reservation and if not only space was 9.30 pm that evening. So we never went back to any of them. Went to the private hotel beach and found some nice beds, before we had time to sit down we were ushered away and told this area is reserved for the guests staying in the villas and not for us poor people, we could of course have one of the beds for 25 euros for half a day or we could use the straw beds for free. Wasn’t impressed as already spent 14k on the rubbish superior room. Gateless entrance to hotel was manned by a guard everyday, by the end of the holiday this became a game of beating the guard before they had time to get up and out of the security hut. On the two occasions I was stopped, I told the guard I’m staying here for two weeks and I’m not stopping every time I come through these gates to tell you the same thing. The maid would sometimes enter the room to clean without event knocking first. Many times she would rush around the back to the pool and shout CLEAN NOW, CLEAN NOW! She was however lovely and helpful so not knocking her, in fact not knocking any of the hard working staff apart from reception who have it easy. Wow! I don't even know where to start.... everything about this hotel was perfect. We arrived late at night and the staff ensured we checked into our room quickly and effectively. We were extremely lucky to have been given an upgrade and wow, what an upgrade. The villa with pool and courtyard was beautiful. The room was immaculate - so clean and tidy. There wasn't a single spec of dirty of my socks! The staff were amazing - so friendly, so thoughtful and so kind. They offered you water, drinks and ensured you had everything you needed. The food was perfect. We went with 1/2 board which felt like plenty. The breakfast buffet was constantly stocked and everything was tasty. The evening buffet was the same. You had enough variety for even the fussiest of eaters. The grounds itself are exactly like the photos. The private beach is perfect, there's no rushing or stressing over finding a space to chill. Overall I can't recommend enough. I really hope I get the chance to go back in the near future. Thank you for making my stay perfect. ♥️

We had a nice holiday! Special and big Thank you to Costas!! I played football with him everyday! He is also doing the family Disco very good and the kids love him! We also liked the beach volleyball al lot and we will sure come back for a family and sport holiday!

My partner had been a guest at Amirandes Grecotel Boutique Resort before, and wanted to come back. What can I say - this was the best vacation I have ever experienced. Being at Amirandes Grecotel Boutique Resort felt like a dream. The attentive and highly professional staff ensured that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Their care and hospitality made us feel like cherished guests. The various dishes showcased the talent of the high-class chefs, leaving us spoiled for choice at every meal. The beautiful beach offered a blissfully uncrowded atmosphere as well as clean shores. Furthermore, our spacious and spotless room offered a stunning sea view, even from the bed. We want to express our gratitude to the entire hotel team for creating such unforgettable memories and for allowing us to recharge our batteries! We're looking forward to coming back!

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff! Personally I enjoyed the sports offering a lot. Costas is doing a excellent job on the volleyball field, paddle ball court and other activities. Also: Make sure you visit Rethmyno

We were in Amirandes for 6 days and it was an amazing experience. The resort actually looks even better than in the pictures and there is great attention to every little detail. We had a family suite with a private pool and access to the garden where there were sunbeds and a parasol. Very nice. The food was excellent and the service adequate for 5 stars. The staff is amazing, everyone is very nice and polite and goes out of their way to accommodate. A big thank you to everyone who works there, it was a dream holiday and we will definitely come again next year.

The most beautiful stay! My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights for a babymoon and it was wonderful. On arrival, the staff had upgraded us to a garden room which was huge with a large balcony, side sea view and incredibly comfortable bed. There was a bottle of Prosecco and cold plate awaiting us in the room. The shower is very powerful and the bath is huge! The whole hotel is stunning and immaculately clean. The staff work so hard to care for the hotel and grounds and it really shows. The restaurants are fabulous. I'm veggie and when asked to review my stay after a couple of days, I commented that the only thing I would change was the veggie options. The following two nights at dinner, we were treated like royalty with specially made or recommended dishes. It was so special and I felt very lucky and cared for at the hotel. Despite the beauty and grandeur, the hotel has a lovely, relaxed feel. Every member of staff we met was friendly, kind and helpful. It is such a nice atmosphere at Amirandes. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff even brought me up some milk when I had terrible heartburn! Just gorgeous people all round. The hotel has a short pathway to a private, sandy beach with plenty of loungers, towels are all included and laid out, no queueing! The sea is calm and clear, perfect for swimming and snorkelling and you can order food and drinks to your lounger if you like too. This was truly a 5 star experience and we will be booking again with our new arrival for out first family holiday without a doubt! Huge thanks to all the staff for making our time so special. We felt immediately relaxed on arrival and were treated like absolute royalty, thank you 😊

Nice hotel on beach away from traffic noise etc. Smoking is allowed outside on the terrace where people are eating having their breakfast. A smoking zone away from eating area would be recommended.
