Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou Reviews

Dissapointing stay at four seasons. First time in this brand and probably my last. This is not what you expect for 600$ a night. When getting out of the car we had to get the luggage ourselves with my driver, the hotel staff only took it once I brought it to the entrance. The hotel knew we were arriving early yet the room couldn't be prepared on time even for the regular check in time. I could let that slide because we did stay during the canton fair so there were a lot of guests. The club room we paid for was meant to be on the 93-99 floor. We got one on the 83 floor. They said it was exactly the same and maybe it was, but then don't advertise the room being on 93-99. What was really bad was the smell in the room. Very chemical like. It obviously came from cleaning products they use for the room and it instantly gave me a flash back to the times when I stayed at cheap 3-4 star hotels. Non of the other 5 star hotels I stayed in China had this problem, they were also cheaper (200-300$ a night) and used high tier aromatics for the rooms. So I was very surprised to encounter this. P.s. I read some reviews after this and turns out many guests encounter this problem. They reply to everyone saying that they will improve but as we can see this is clearly not the case. No point overpaying for the view rooms. Paid a hefty premium for Canton tower view. You could only see it from the bathroom tub, in the room itself 2 massive pillars and a TV were blocking it. I don't know for how long this hotel has been running but the interior is pretty worn out. Damages/stains on the walls, doors, carpet and furniture. Attaching just a few photos, but there were way more. The Japanese restaurant was very mediocre for the price so I don't see how trip.com could put this as top 1 gourmet hotel in the city. 350$ for 2 (with no alcohol). They forgot 1 of the positions I ordered (despite confirming the order with me). Some of the fish and soft shell crab wasn't fresh (not spoiled in any way) just not fresh, if you ever had high end sushi you understand what I mean, it should have no smell or after taste. The breakfast at 99th floor (included with the executive club room like ours) is also mid, very small buffet. If you want to have breakfast at main buffet (whith a ton of people) and potentially wait in a line, you have to pay extra which is strange for a higher tier room imo. Ordered room service once, pizza arrived warm and was cold within minutes. The only great thing in the hotel is the staff. Very polite, well trained, good English compared to the other hotels I stayed at in China. Hope they can improve on the other things.

One of the first few to stay in their first batch of their newly renovated rooms, loved the bright colours used and view of the canton tower was amazing! Bathroom was huge and high quality. Service was top notch even with the high occupancy, will highly recommend anyone to try out their new rooms if the chance.

I had the opportunity to stay with my daughter in the Dream Castle room, and she absolutely loved it! The room was very cute, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and convenient. The hotel’s location was also excellent. We would definitely love to stay here again if we have the chance.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a stunning view. Every detail—from the comfortable bed to the luxurious amenities—was perfect. A spectacular hotel with huge rooms, amazing staff and facilities in perfect shape. Plan in an extra day for your stay in Guangzhou, because you will want to make sure you’re spending enough time here and not just exploring the city!

Quick check-in when arrived at 21:00 with free upgrade. Excellent location. Indeed q nice hotel to stay for business and leisure. 

If I can I will definitely come back here. Super nice view. They can speak English. They are super helpfull. All the amenities are nice. Nice stay for runners (next you have a good running place). In the gym you can take care of your legs. Also good for social media pictures (in and outside the building). Breakfast was great. Divers. Room was clean.

For our anniversary, April from the hotel staff went above and beyond! She thoughtfully decorated our room, penned a handwritten card, and even sent us red wine and chocolate cake, which really added a special touch to our celebration. The next day, when we found the pillows too soft, a quick call to the front desk had suitable replacements delivered to our room, ensuring we slept soundly until we woke up naturally. The hotel's breakfast was, as ever, delightful – we loved it. We'll definitely be back at the Four Seasons next year for our anniversary; it truly feels like a second home to us.

The service was incredibly warm and attentive; they even reached out a day in advance. The staff were always on hand to assist guests. Since our original room was undergoing maintenance, they promptly upgraded us to a suite and thoughtfully allowed us to choose from available options. The room offered a direct view of the Canton Tower, which, despite the poor weather, was still beautifully visible, albeit partially obscured. The Executive Lounge also provided a generous selection of food and beverages. The high-altitude night view was uniquely breathtaking. We made sure to visit the popular infinity pool; the water quality was excellent, and the children absolutely loved it. Overall, a truly satisfying stay.

One of the best hotels in Guangzhou! It combines true luxury with a cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, perfectly decorated, and made me feel completely at home. The hotel is calm, spotless, and in a perfect location. The staff are simply outstanding - attentive, warm, and professional. It will definitely be my first choice every time I visit Guangzhou.

Disappointing Stay at Guangzhou Four Seasons Hotel😧 I recently stayed at the Guangzhou Four Seasons Hotel and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations for a luxury hotel. First of all, the check-in process was highly inefficient. Despite the official check-in time being 15:00, my room was still not ready by 15:30. The lobby was crowded with guests waiting for their rooms to be prepared, which was frustrating and inconvenient. Secondly, the room facilities were noticeably outdated. The bathtub and shower faucets were loose and lacked the refinement one would expect from a Five-Star hotel. The overall maintenance and quality of the amenities did not reflect the standard Four Seasons is known for. Additionally, the dining experience at Yu Yue Heen, which proclaimed itself as the Michelin One-Star restaurant, was deeply disappointing. The food quality was far from what one would anticipate from a Michelin-starred establishment. It was so underwhelming that I chose to order breakfast from outside instead of dining at the hotel again. On a positive side, the location of this hotel is good without any doubt , the reception staff were proactive, professional and spoke fluent, accent-free English, which was appreciated. Turn down service is provided ( but this is a standard procedure for five stars hotel) However, given that this hotel is housed in one of Guangzhou’s most iconic buildings ( IFC), the lack of upkeep and attention to detail is unacceptable. For the price paid, I expected a much higher level of both service and food quality. At least, the hotel should know, deal is a deal, 1500 check in time means everything is ready for the next customer. After all, they required the customer check out 1200 on time. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes necessary improvements. 评分：★★☆☆☆

I wasn't originally planning on leaving a review, but I hope my honest feedback and suggestions can be helpful to others. A day before my arrival, a staff member from the Executive Lounge proactively contacted me via WeChat to understand my itinerary and estimated arrival time, and arranged for me to check in directly at the Executive Lounge on the 99th floor. However, I would recommend checking in at the main lobby on the 70th floor first. You need a room key card to access the elevators to the 99th floor; you can't go directly up without one. I had a dinner reservation booked in advance and, by habit, probably thought I should check in at the front desk first. After we finished our meal, a lounge staff member came to the restaurant to escort us up. It felt akin to visiting a friend's home, where they come downstairs to welcome you. After all, the Four Seasons is a luxury hotel renowned for its 'private residence' concept. Check-in was completed in just a couple of minutes. I had originally requested the highest possible floor in my reservation notes. The front desk informed me that the highest guest floor is the 98th, and considering the bar on the 99th floor could be noisy, they decided to assign me to the 87th floor as a compromise. (My suggestion here is that they could have asked if floors 97 or 96 would have been acceptable alternatives if the 98th was deemed too noisy, as this had been discussed during a prior phone call, but upon arrival, it became a fixed assignment.) Then, with just a few words, they briefly outlined some of the room privileges before handing me an envelope. (A crucial tip: make sure to open it immediately to review your entitlements and any ongoing promotions. Clarify anything unclear on the spot.) Otherwise, you might end up like me, only properly reading it at night. I almost missed out on the complimentary 30-minute couple's floral spa head, shoulder, and neck massage, which was originally included with the suite booking. (Since there were only two or three staff members on duty at the Executive Lounge who weren't fully aware of the promotion details, I later had to take a photo of the voucher and send it via WeChat. The next day, upon learning I hadn't rested well, they honored the offer and even extended my check-out by two hours.) I believe that for first-time guests at the Four Seasons who want to experience their spa services, if such an offer is already included with the suite, there's no need to incur additional costs for it. The therapists were skilled, polite, and enthusiastic. I even bought two herbal balls, only to later realize the label stated they require professional handling to prevent burns. (Though the therapist did caution me about the precautions.) All of this detailed feedback stems from a small personal wish: to have a bathtub directly facing the Canton Tower. During the Chinese New Year, when I stayed at the White Swan's river-view suite with my children to watch the fireworks, I was disappointed not to secure a bathroom with a river view. This time, my wish for both a river view and the Canton Tower came true! However, the therapist advised against taking a bath immediately after the Thai herbal ball therapy. I guess that's just how life is – pursuing one small wish after another! Finally, I hope the Four Seasons Hotel continues to uphold its consistent service philosophy: that genuine sincerity fosters genuine connections, and true hospitality lies in being earnest.
