A Poetic Sanctuary at Banyan Tree Hangzhou Our stay at Banyan Tree Hangzhou felt like stepping into a living painting — where mist dances over quiet waters and time moves at the rhythm of birdsong. What truly made this journey unforgettable, however, were the people who touched our hearts. Bobby Jiang went above and beyond, sharing with my father the beautiful meanings behind each 对联 adorning the 四合院 — turning our stroll through the resort into a cultural journey filled with warmth and insight. Every morning, my mother would speak fondly of 37, whose gentle care, generosity, and radiant spirit made her feel cherished from the moment she stepped into breakfast. A heartfelt thank-you as well to the kind gentleman who drove us by buggy to 外婆家 on our first day — his patience and thoughtfulness towards my elderly parents spoke volumes of true hospitality. The team’s attentiveness extended even to our room — near the lobby, with no stairs, perfectly suited for seniors. If you’re traveling with elderly parents or simply seeking serenity, this is paradise. Sit on your balcony, watch the ducks glide and the boats drift by — and you’ll understand why Hangzhou is poetry in motion.

Banyan Tree Hangzhou is one of my favourite places in China. It is set in the beautiful Xixi Wetlands and boasts traditional Chinese architecture. The staff are friendly and helpful, language is not a barrier.

A very delightful stay. Spacious suite and it’s great for just relaxing and getting away from the noise. There is a shuttle provided to the hotel to get you to the entrance of Xixi so you can get to the metro quickly (~5 mins). Breakfast was a delight and overall a very enjoyable stay.

Great stay at Banyan Tree Hangzhou! Rooms were very well cleaned and there were amenities such as pools and steam rooms we could visit. Decor was really nice around the hotel and was close to most things. Would stay here again
