Hand a wonderful fish and chip lunch for 2. Very reasonable at £20. Warming open fire and great beers. Host was most friendly. The menus include local produce and some very appetising pies.

Called in for an unscheduled lunch today… and was not disappointed. Warm welcome, gorgeous scran (plentiful portions and the pork was so succulent) in a beautiful country pub environment. My wife managed to find room for a slice of carrot cake with cream which she loved. We’ll definitely be back!

Came into the dyke nuke after a long walk around Morpeth, ordered 2 burgers with all the add ones and I was not disappointed to say the least. The meat was tender and full of flavor. Friendly and attentive staff . I would Highly recommend to pop in for some food or even a cold pint

Lovely pub, hugely warm and cosy (gorgeous real fire) and really friendly welcome. Excellent selection of drinks including NZ wine and according to my husband, one of the best poured Guinness's he's ever had. (And he's had a lot!) We shared some chips which were particularly nice, the rest of the food also looked and smelt amazing. Will definitely return!

What a find. Saw this pub on another site and thought we would try it as part of our tour around Northumberland. So glad we did. Phoned ahead to book a table and ask if we could stay over in our motorhome. No problem and we arrived on a Thursday steak night. Two steaks and all the trimmings for £25. My very fussy partner said it was the best steak he had eaten for a very long time. This cosy welcoming pub is clearly vey popular with the locals always a good sign. Highly recommended and thank you for the lovely stay.

Avoid this place at all costs. Other than the breakfast staff the employees and service was atrocious. We attended a wedding in the nearby village and went to drop our bags off after the ceremony as agreed two days earlier on the phone. The person behind the bar claimed the pub had just been taken over and all bookings on *********** had been wiped. Not sure how a takeover happened in two days. The person we were dealing with was rude, didn’t apologise but eventually said we could have two rooms but would have to pay more and wouldn’t call the manager. When we returned at 11.30 after the wedding he would not give us the keys to our rooms and then called the police when we insisted on staying. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it and such a complete ambivalence to customer care. Avoid completely.

We have been 4 times since they re-opened in March 23, simply put we cannot fault the food and service. Everytime we have been we have enjoyed different meals and have sampled a few, the Sunday Roast is amazing and might not look a lot - but it's not easy to finish there is a lot, eyes deceive you. Deserts we left for a while letting the main course digest. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much for them even during busy times, i can get busy may be best to book ahead. Cant fault the place hence the four visits in less than a month.

We stayed for 2 nights at this B&B, driving through the beautiful Northumberland countryside you find this quaint traditional pub at a road junction. It has outside seating as well as restaurant, lounge and bar area and has 2 coal fires . If you are looking for atmosphere this place has lots and very friendly staff. Its worth stopping for a meal if you are passing but if wanting to stay and explore local area like we did its also a good place. they stop serving food about 9pm and so on our first night the pub was quite quiet when we went to bed but 2nd night was a Friday and there was some noise as pub busy when we went to bed. The pub has a varied menu and portions were large, make sure you leave room for dessert as I cannot describe how good they were. The area is lovely, we visited Rothbury, Morpeth and Amble in same day so much. Well worth visiting this cute B&B
