Before booking this property, I strongly recommend having a local phone number that can receive calls. I was using a data-only SIM card, which made communication extremely difficult.
Before leaving home, I received an email saying that the luggage room access code would be provided via the customer service chat. However, the chat is not monitored in a timely manner. Since we arrived early in the morning, we never received the code and were unable to store our luggage.
I booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children with two single beds and one sofa bed. However, when we arrived, the room only had two single beds, and there were only two sets of towels. I immediately contacted customer service through the chat to ask whether the room was correct, but I received no reply.
Early on the third morning, the toilet broke and became unusable. Since the chat was still unanswered, I had to ask a friend who lives in Helsinki to call customer service on my behalf. Only then did they finally notice my earlier message about the incorrect room assignment.
They confirmed that the wrong room had indeed been assigned, so we were moved to another room. The new room was much larger, had a washing machine, and was much more comfortable. Unfortunately, it had its own problems. The shower and the faucet ran at the same time, resulting in very weak water pressure, and the hair dryer was broken. I reported both issues via chat at 9:00 a.m. the next morning, asking for them to be repaired. At 6:00 p.m., I finally received a reply saying they would fix them. However, when we returned to the room, nothing had been repaired.
On our last day, we wanted to use the luggage room again. Once again, I had to ask my friend to call because I had no local phone number. Since we had changed rooms, it seemed that our reservation was no longer correctly linked to the automated system, so we could not obtain the access code. Customer service gave us two different codes over the phone, but neither worked. By pure luck, a building manager happened to be there cleaning and kindly called customer service for us. Only then were we finally given a code that actually worked.
I was also told that I would receive a refund for the room that had been assigned incorrectly. However, I have still not received any updates from either the hotel or Trip.com regarding the refund.
We spent far too much time dealing with problems and it was both exhausting and disappointing.
