I feel completely cheated by Forest Otonashi Ryokufuen. I booked what was described as a Deluxe Room, expecting at least a basic private bathroom. When I arrived, I was shocked to find that the bathroom was sealed off and unusable — meaning there’s actually no bathroom in the room at all. This was never mentioned anywhere on their booking page. What’s even more frustrating is that for their Standard Room, it clearly states “shared bathroom,” but for the Deluxe Room I booked, there was no such note. Naturally, I assumed it had a private bathroom — as anyone would. If I had known earlier, I would have definitely stayed somewhere else. For a place marketed as a ryokan with deluxe rooms, this is completely misleading. The lack of transparency ruined what should have been a relaxing stay. Travelers deserve to know exactly what they’re paying for — and this place failed badly in that regard. That said, the room itself was spacious, and while the furniture was dated, the tatami mats seemed newly replaced. Breakfast was decent and in line with what I’d expect from a traditional inn. The entire property looks old with some rotten doors at the corner Would I recommend this place? Only if you’re comfortable showering in a public bath area with no cubicle or privacy. I acknowledge that this is part of Japanese culture, but it’s not something I’m used to or expected, especially for a “deluxe” room. Overall, this stay left me very disappointed and feeling misled. Travelers deserve clear, honest information — and this property failed badly in that regard.

Beautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus. Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

There's no indoor shower. There's no indoor shower. There's no indoor shower. The first hotel without an indoor shower. The first hotel without an indoor shower. The first hotel without an indoor shower. The decor is very old, the bathroom facilities are inconvenient, and there's no indoor shower at all. It's nothing like what's advertised. Such a rip-off. Apart from the spacious room, the amenities were not comfortable at all. Apart from the spacious room, the amenities were not comfortable at all. It's a distance from Ito Station and you can change to a bus. If you stay there for two days, you can buy a bus pass

I usually come here for a day bath, but today the funky woman at the front desk had a bad customer service attitude, and it ruined the relaxing feeling of a holiday where I was trying to heal and get rid of fatigue, and I was irritated from the morning. No smiles, no expressions, no thanks...first of all, as a person. It was that kind of feeling. The manager and other people are always smiling and kind, but because of this one person, the image of a good inn is tarnished. I would like to request education as soon as possible.

A reasonably priced hot spring inn in Ito Onsen. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from Ito Station. Rooms, corridors, toilets, etc. are old, but the price is reasonable. One night stay includes breakfast, and the hot springs are available 24 hours a day. Especially the open-air bath is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is a simple buffet at the venue from 730. Cook dried horse mackerel yourself. There is nothing wrong with relaxing in a hot spring.
