The hotel location is excellent. Take a bus from JR train station to Xianglinfang, just across the road. The station for the return trip is downstairs, and it is about 1 km to walk to Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden. Various restaurants are hidden in the surrounding paths, and one Michelin star Otome Sushi is 600 meters away. Next to the hotel is Uniqlo on the third floor and ABC Mart on the second floor in Tokyu Mall. Opposite is Daiwa Department Store in Kanazawa's highest-level mall. There is a foil shop on the negative first floor. When you go out and turn right across two roads, you will find LOFT. Behind the hotel is Da Guo Medicine Makeup. The hotel has parking lot 🅿️ can be reached by car. We lived in a 23-square-meter room, enough to spread out two 26-inch suitcases, the bathroom was large, the bedding was comfortable, and the first night I didn't even recognize the bed and slept very well

A bit dated and a a little bit tired, but what a lovely hotel with large rooms and great location. Sitting areas in the room were wonderful, the onsen was very nice, we really enjoyed our stay here. Everything we needed for the two days we were in Kanazawa were within easy walking distance. It's location counts for a lot. We had a room that faced the castle though it was not high enough to let us look over the castle grounds. Still looking into the hillside at nature was a nice change for us. We never ate at the hotel because we thought the cost for breakfast (though I'm sure it would have been good) was high and we tended to wander the town for our other meals. Free shuttle back to the train station was nice but a little more information on how to catch it from the train station would have been nice.

We wanted to experience one traditional ryokan during our month in Japan, and we could not have made a better choice than Asadaya. Our welcome was gracious and following a tea service we were shown to our tatami room. We had just spent a week in a western-style hotel in Tokyo, and this room could not have been more different. When the door closed, we sat on the floor staring at each other in our simple suite, and my husband said ”Are you sure this was a good idea?” At that moment, I wasn't sure. Neither of us had experienced such simple accommodations before and we're not bed and breakfast types. But we changed our minds quickly when we allowed the peaceful zen of the place to take over. We fell in love with every single thing about our experience: our beautiful and simple suite, the comfortable beds (made extra long for two tall guys), wearing yukatas, enjoying the family bath (we never even used the in-room shower), afternoon tea, and the over-the-top kaiseke meals served on the most gorgeous dinnerware you'll ever see. It's hard to put into words the level of personal and respectful service we experienced throughout our three night stay. By the time we checked out, we felt like honored guests and close family, both at the same time. As we continued our travels through Japan, we met several natives of Kanazawa who live in other cities. Each of them knew of Asadaya by reputation, and each said the same thing: ”Asadaya is famous in Japan. Asadaya is well-known as one of the finest ryokans. You're so lucky to have stayed there.” Indeed, we were fortunate to experience this traditional ryokan experience. We'll be forever be grateful to sixteenth generation owner Qta, his mom Mrs. Asada, and everyone who hosted and cared for us. We're happy to have made their friendships and to experienced Japan through their hospitality. Tips: Don't miss the D.T. Suzuki Museum, one of the finest pieces of contemporary architecture on the planet and an equal of Mies' Barcelona Pavilion. If you're in town long enough, be sure to visit one of Qta's restaurants. We enjoyed phenomenal teppanyaki at Rokkakudo. Kanazawa is a wonderful small city. We highly recommend a multi-night stay to have the time to relax into it and enjoy all it has to offer.

I’m here now and want to write about my experience as it’s happening. I’m blown away at this property. The beauty, the people, the quiet…except for the waterfall which you hear if you’re outside. I have a balcony room. The AC is splendid! There’s a tub inside the large shower area. The shower water is a little weaker than I normally care for, but YMMV. Breakfast is a huge buffet with very nice options, all Japanese and all high quality. Both mornings, I’ve been served an amuse. Tonight I’ll try dinner for the first time here, and no doubt it’ll be delicious. If you opt out of housekeeping, they leave you a big bag of two each large towels, hand towels and bath towels. Housekeeping is as quiet as a church mouse. I arrived at the Kanazawa train station, and even though I knew that there would be a shuttle bus, and which side to exit from, I didn’t know which one was mine. This information is not on the website, so I’ll tell you that you exit on the west side, and upon exiting, turn to the right, where the group bus waiting area is. And watch for a bus that is white with an orange *****e on the front. One other word of caution. There are two hotels that are named the same. Just because you see the hotel name on the outside, that may not be yours. Do you want to be sure that the driver and the accompanying guide know that the one you want is on this particular street. It’s a really new hotel, as it’s only been open for about a year. I upgraded and got the lounge access and that’s been totally worth it! The afternoon suites are so stunningly gorgeous and there’s a cocktail hour also in the afternoon, but I think it’s really like three or four hours long. The staff speaks their English, but have your Google translate ready for words that they may not automatically know. However, I will say they are extremely eager to understand and please you. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Fantastic hotel with spacious rooms and very friendly staff. We chose Nikko Kanazawa because of its proximity to the train station. Hotel Nikko is actually Kanazawa’s tallest building, designed by a Japanese-French team. Rooms located on 21st-25th floors have beautiful views. Nikko is connected to the Higashi ( eastern) side of the station by the underground passageway through the Porter building. Our room at the 21st floor was large, clean and modern with a fantastic view over the city towards the Sea of Japan. It was very relaxing at the end of the day to sit in arm chairs and watch the sunset. Service was excellent. We found a good restaurant on the sixth floor of the Forus shopping center adjacent to the train station (on the right if you look at the eastern entrance to the station through the giant Torii gate). The name is Morimorizushi Kanazawa Ekimae-ten (sushi), you can't miss it - there will be people on the benches waiting outside. The line goes fast, just don't forget to take your ticket at the entrance. This hi-tech kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi joint is a fantastic place for excellent sushi at reasonable price. It is only 4-5 min. from Hotel Nikko and on rainy day you can reach it by the underground passage. We liked Hotel Nikko and would stay here again.

The hotel definitely feels a bit old and tired, but it's still very clean and comfortable with excellent service. I was upgraded to what was essentially a junior suite due to my status and found the room to be very spacious and comfortable. The pillows were too soft for my taste but luckily there was a harder pillow in the closest. The toilet has an automatic bidet which will raise the lid as you get near it and then automatically flush (fancy!). Every morning the staff would also provide newspapers, which I thought was really old school. Location-wise this hotel can't be beat. You're literally right next to Kanazawa Station which gives you easy transportation access and also puts you close to dining options. There are a lot of malls around the station with good restaurants and shops. There's also a large 711 just a few steps away. The only gripe I had about the room was that I found the sink area to be a bit too small and there was little space for me to put my toiletries.

The room was a semi-double room for 2 people, but I think it would have been better if the bed was a little bigger, but considering the price, there is no problem. We had a night in this hotel that was chosen by the organizers of a group trip. The room was large but it was a little narrow. There was 2 beds. The size of the bathroom was correct. Wi-Fi is very good. The room was only type A with two cards. There were no type B cards (three cards). We had lunch at the hotel and it was a buffet. The content was not suitable for the Western. There was a lot of wait for the filling of some dishes. The electrical catches were of type A with two sheets. There were no type B catches (three sheets).

Worth the 15 minute walk to breakfast. The hotel staff were competent and helped us with our baggage forwarding. We had 2 good nights at this hotel, took a taxi to the station both evenings where the shopping is abundant and restaurants pretty good.

I looked for a hotel around Katamachi and chose this one. It took a little over 10 minutes by bus from Kanazawa Station to Katamachi, and a 2-3 minute walk from the bus stop. It is a relatively quiet environment because it is one block from the main street. It's only been 3 years since the opening, so it was a beautiful impression overall. The rooms were also cleaned properly and there was no shortage of facilities and equipment. Amenities were a system to take necessary things next to the front desk. I had reserved a single room, but it was good that a double room was prepared due to room availability. Attractions such as Kenrokuen Garden and the 21st Century Museum of Art are within walking distance. There are many restaurants in the surrounding area, so you don't have to worry about dinner. Even after checking out, I was able to keep my luggage.

This beautiful ryokan (japanese style traditional hotel) is located in the center of Kanazawa, just a few minutes away from its main attractions. It was my first time in a similar structure and I was simply blown by it. It is a very simple yet luxurious structure. Most of all, for a foreigner, it make you experience a new way of living and learn a lot about japanese culture. You leave your shoes at the entrance and move through the common spaces with slippers; inside your room, you just walk barefeet. The rooms are empty: there is just the futon and a small table above the tatamis. You have plenty of spaces on the cupboards, through. They are accessible through sliding doors. This give a big sense of order to the room. There are common toilets on the first ground, while at the entrance level there is a shared bathroom, with a shower and big bathtub digged into the ground. The whole structure is very clean and the staff is gentle. Overrall it has been a very comfortable stay. I recommend it for an immersive experience in the japanese traditions.

Stayed here for 8 nights as we used Kanazawa as the base to travel to different areas. This hotel just opened 6 months ago so everything is very new. It is very central - 25 min walk or 15 min bus from Kanazawa Station or taxi around 1100 yen; right by Korinbo shopping area with lots of restaurants. It’s 8 minute walk to 21st century museum, Kanazawa castle and Kenrokurn Garden. I had a twin room and it’s very spacious. There is a full tub and shower and a separate toilet area. Highly recommended

I am a resident in the prefecture. I use it after the drinking party. It is located in Sakai Town, so it is the best location if it is a drinking party in Katamachi! I can't thank enough the team of Kaname Inn Tatemachi during my stay. Haruki san, Hiroki san, Ted san, Ayumi, etc. and of course the one and only brilliant Hiroshi san- the owner, took such great care of us, that I will never forget their generosity, efficiency , professionalism and kind hearts. My stay felt like family, the level of hospitality friendliness is simply amazing. The food at Kaname Inn Music bar downstairs is delicious- i loved it, their Chef is so good!! The hotel is very comfortable,well thought on little details, everything is in very supreme solid quality condition, very clean, the mattress is very comfortable, rooms are soundproof, i had such a good sleep and rest there, it is a very quiet neibourghhood. i absolutely loved my stay. I am grateful and will remember everyone with smile and warm feeling. Also i have to say there is something special in atmosphere of Tatemachi street, its special, something magical in the ambience. You will not regret if you choose to stay there. I also think that Kanazawa and Kaname inn deserves to be supported during Covid times. Kaname Inn is a private business, where the team works hard to be better every single day. Guests are treated with personal approach on a name basis. Such a highlight of my stay in Japan. Unforgettable. Thank you guys!!
