DDomingo’sI don't understand why this hotel has so many good reviews, but I want to write honestly, as someone who has worked in tourism for 20 years and seen a lot. The hotel definitely doesn't live up to its category. The biggest downsides are: there's no sea, the tide is very low every day, so you definitely can't swim here, and the knee-deep water that comes in in the afternoon smells like fish, and even while you're sitting at breakfast, there's a very unpleasant fish smell. But if you want, there's a shuttle that takes you to a good beach several times a day. The pool is dirty with green water; I was snorkeling, and there were tons of hair and sand at the bottom. The water doesn't circulate. In the morning, they pour two buckets of chlorine to disinfect the pool, and then it turns blue for a short while. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable, but tired. The tiles and plumbing need replacing. There were a lot of ants and cockroaches in the room. When we reported them, a worker came to exterminate them and treat them with ant repellent. On the plus side, the room has a large TV with YouTube access, a refrigerator, a tea station, a comfortable bed, and daily cleaning and towel changes. Peacocks roam the grounds (but that's not the main reason to come here). Breakfast is modest; there's a coffee machine with real coffee, pancakes, omelets like everywhere else, sausages and ham, and fruit. There were no yogurts or cheeses, and the juices were watered down. A lot of the equipment in the gym is broken. It depends on your preference, but for me, the sea and pool are key features in a place like this, so I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of cheaper and better options on the coast.

GGuest UserThe hotel is old but in a very good condition. Service is very welcoming and with a incredibly high level of English language proficiency. Location is rather quiet (there’s a shuttle but you better set with your car or bike) but with a great beach. Good food at the dinner restaurant and plentiful breakfast.
Sand fleas is an issue. We’ve got some bites.

AAnonymous UserThe overall experience was alright, but the facilities need some care. The water park is old and some of the slides are breaking down, they don’t look safe. The hotel is divided in two areas, one across the road and one by the beach. If you are staying across the road you can’t use the pool from the beach side, which is a bummer and a big downside. Would check other places first.

GGuest UserThis place is absolutely incredible! First off, I requested a room with a great sunset view when booking, and they totally delivered. I could see the stunning white sand beach sunset right from my bed – it was beyond amazing. Second, I was exhausted upon check-in and somehow lost my bag. I asked the front desk first thing the next morning, and they had it for us! So relieved to get my thousands of baht back. Third, the room balcony is just epic; you have to experience it for yourself. Fourth, the beach sun loungers are practically beds; I even fell asleep and snored on one! Fifth, the restaurant truly caters to a variety of international tastes, and the flavors are incredibly authentic. They even make people from other countries enjoy food from different cuisines, so breakfast was also fantastic. Sixth, the service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left – something you really have to experience. Seventh, the convenience is unbeatable. You step out and there are taxis waiting, just a few more steps is a 7-Eleven, right next door is my beloved roti stand, and across the street are my favorite smoothies and a massage parlor. In summary: I will definitely come back to Koh Chang and absolutely book KC Grand again. It's expensive for a good reason; the price is justified by the incredible emotional value it provides, and both the soft and hard services are perfect.

GGadi RefaelyHad a great 3-night stay in a Superior Room. The room was sparkling clean, the staff were lovely, and the resort gardens are a nice touch. The location is right in the center of everything. We rented a scooter from and could reach all the main spots in just a few minutes. Great value and super convenient!

AAmideeThis hotel is situated over the water with stilts, which I loved. Its unique appearance, with all its natural wood flooring and decks adds to its charm and feel of the fishing community. It’s a terrific place to stay for some great Thai Seafood!
The VIP rooms are recommended as they are spacious and have a lovely outside space to relax over looking the water. They also have plenty of windows and natural lighting. These rooms are very comfortable.
It has a restaurant attached to it, also over the water on stilts, which serves fantastic, fresh sea food dishes! My favorite meals was the barracuda with sweet and sour sauce and the calamari. They are good sized meals and their fresh juices are also perfect for the heat!
Aoys farm bakery and cafe is also very close by. If you go to your left of the entrance to this hotel you will see the sign for her cafe and bakery. Aoy makes the most delicious cakes that are supplied to many hotels and businesses on the island! Highly recommend going to see her charming cafe and bakery! It’s a short walk and great for fantastic breakfasts and fresh juices or warm drinks, if you don’t want sea food at the resort, go there!
The pool is lovely, as the water below the hotel is not clean and we did not want to swim in it. There are other beach locations for swimming.
You can hire a fishing rod and do some DIY fishing, or pay for fishing half or full day trips, hire bikes, and kayaks. I was satisfied with this location and would certainly consider staying there again for a night or two!
