It’s a very nice hotel nice location. Food is great at the restaurant. The room is very clean but there was little hot water so we couldn’t fill the bathtub. The service needs to be enhanced, we arrived but no one there to take the luggage so I had to carry them. The cleaning lady came to our room an hour before the check out time and she put her cleaning stuff in our terrace. Jembe the pool boy was very friendly he showed us around the hotel and took some good photos for me and my wife.

The one positive thing is the property is nice. The service was lacking and value was definitely not worth it. We booked the house in the trees. The rooftop balcony was private for our room but people would wander up there continuously. There was a festival at the hotel when we stayed. We thought that was neat but in the night people woke us up going to the rooftop balcony again. We were also charged different prices at the same bar when we would order the same drinks. When we checked out the reception also charged me more than what was due. When I questioned it she said she thought the taxi was $45 not $35 that we had arranged. Although, even if it was $45 there was still a $5 discrepancy. That felt sketchy to me to have the fluctuating prices. A security guard from the festival also tried to charge us « interest » for going from our room to the bar too many times. The outdoor bathroom although we thought was beautiful had monkies visit (no fault of the hotel) but left monkey poop everywhere making showering etc less than desirable. There were also kids running all over the place saying their mom was the manager and how they get everything for free. I found that tacky and distasteful when you have guests paying a lot to be there. All in all I would not recommend or return.

This place should have never gotten this monkey. It is such a troublemaker going to other hotels stealing the guest's valuables, jumping, and attacking children. This is absolutely unacceptable, the owners of the nest don't care that the monkey injures kids. I was there when the monkey attacked a young girl at a birthday party and scratched her so deep she was bleeding.

Fabulous setting , wonderful staff and great food . We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others - walking out from the hotel at low tide was a highlight and we saw puffer fish and box fish and a lion fish as well - but you need reef shoes . Rooms were clean and well laid out and little pool in the centre was attractive and fun . Everyone made us welcome . Just a word of warning and it probably applies in most places in Zanzibar . When we ate or drunk in the Hotel everything was presented to us in Tanzanian Shillings but to pay on card we had to pay in dollars and the exchange rate was very poor . On top of that the bank added 5 % ! So it leaves a bad taste ! Just be warned have lots of cash on you and lots of dollars

Anyone that comes to Zanzibar needs to come here, a wonderful place. The food is amazing, chill out at the beach and enjoy the view and drinks. This is paradise, what a great place to spend a day or two. Private pool and changing room for guest that come for a day. Habily and his team made our stay unbelievable. Stay at one of tree houses, it is an unique experience.

The food is good and then personnel are super sweet, however the place is worn down and looks better in the pictures. If you want a quite night sleep as well, then you would want to bring earplugs as there is a party next door every day - go join though, it’s fun Lastly, there is a monkey at the hotel that is the hotels monkey. It attacked us two days in a row and bit both of us. It also vandalized our stuff and the people next door got the same monkey-experience In general - probably a little low value for money

We stayed in this hotel and decided to check-out two nights earlier than planned as we were not happy with some aspects of the hotel. Before check-out we discussed and agreed on a refund of the two nights we booked but did not want to use. The refund was confirmed by email by management. I have been chasing the hotel in every possible way for three months now but still no refund and no answer to my last emails or messages. The lack of communication is very unprofessional, it gives me the feeling that they are intentionally trying to get out of it without paying me the agreed amount. The fact that they are not making any effort to solve this matter is unacceptable, they just don't care. I will not stop until I get my refund.

Unfortunately we made a very bad experience with the nest. We had booked and paid in advance for October 2023. as parts of the hotel burned down we had to annulate our stay and they said it’s no problem and we will get the money back. So far we still did not get the money back. I wrote many emails and made many phone calls, but didn’t see the money so far. I highly recommend not to pay anything in advance and don’t book anything there. 😔😔😔 Bettina Heine

We had an amazing experience at the Nest. Even though we had some issues with our room, the whole crew made sure we had an incredible time. Every single person from the staff is absolutely increible, always with a smile in their face and the most amazing attitude. Thanks to everyone of you to make us enjoy our honey money even though we had a rainy week, you guys made our trip!! So thanks a lot! Special mention to David, who despite the issues we had, was always willing to walk the extra mile to have us happy! Thank you David, you are truly a champion in customer service 💪🏻💪🏻! Another shootout to the amazing staff from the restaurant. Food is absolutely Fabulous and super tasty! Great great chefs that accomplish delicious 100% vegetarian dishes. We didn’t miss meat at all 😀😀. In terms of advice for the hotel, I recommend them to check for better humidity control in certain rooms. I believe this is due to the huge amount of rain we had. Also on the same area. When it rains that much, there are not enough spaces to be in the hotel despite your room if it’s raining. This are only issues when it rains and I also know that the hotel had fire recently so for sure many of the facilities are being rebuilt. Apart from that rain topic, everything else is perfect. The hotel is designed so it melts with nature around and a lot of attention to small details. We even had a family of monkeys 🙉 visiting us in our outside shower one day 🥰. The hotel also offers amazing activities to do like kitesurfing, horseback riding, massages and tours everywhere around the island. Thanks you so much everyone we saw during this week at the Nest. We will keep you in our hearts and will come back soon! 💚
