The check in process was very easy, just took us some time to find the place because we thought it is separated from the pub but the reception is actually right in it so just walk straight in! Room was very cozy and equipped, very thoughtful to provide us with all the basic amenities plus additional items such as water, beer, milk, chocolate, coffee for coffee machine and even a postcard! Staff was really friendly and helpful as well. The breakfast was also really amazing - you get to choose a main and a drink from their breakfast menu on top of a mini buffet spread that offered some really good pastries, salamis, cheese and more, so be sure to leave some extra time in the morning to enjoy it! However, there was a club opposite the place that was opened slightly pass midnight when we were there and if you're a light sleeper be sure to pack some ear plugs to go to sleep early. One of the corners of the wall also had a slight mold issue because the condensation from the bathroom must have caused that in the long run but it shouldn't be a huge concern though it will be nice if that gets fixed!

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel. The room was lovely and staff were friendly. I requested a room with a bath which we got. However there was no plug in the bath so it wouldn’t fill up. The reception was helpful at getting us a new plug tho. We also used the swimming pool which was lovey and very clean. Overall a good experience.

I always have a lovely stay here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are good size, everything you need and breakfast is fab.

For the price it was ok but if I was paying more I wouldn’t be impressed the bedding and the towels were thread bare there was a big hole down the seam of the duvet cover the toilet door in the bedroom had a full frosted glass panel in it which wasn’t very nice for my daughter the cooked breakfast was swimming in grease there are extra costs when you book in parking you have to pay for and they take a deposit on the room which does leave your account contrary to what the hotel says it is returned promptly but no other hotel does this in Southampton and of a hire standard than the star! Considering years ago this was one of the poshest hotels in Southampton it isn’t now it’s tired and run on a shoe string the price I paid was right for the standard clean the staff were ok but the place is in need of a revamp especially the glass panel in the toilet door also watch out for the hidden costs

Booked a room last minute to beat the January blues. Booked the duplex room which was fabulous but steps quite steep and l had concerns. I was moved to an equally fantastic room which was clean spacious. Pool was great which we enjoyed. We had a bar meal could have done with a few more options but the cocktails were amazing made from scratch. I will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Stayed for a night while on business in Southampton. Located near the train station is a useful feature. The lobby is bright and modern and well laid out.

Good communication, welcoming, clean with all the necessities and quiet. I enjoyed my stay and I had a peaceful rest. Keep up the good standards...

Great customer service, ideal location while working in Southampton

The hotel is in a great, quiet location and it is a very beautiful building. The room was clean and pleasant, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Through Trip I thought I had booked one room up from the smallest option, but alas turns out I had not! The bed was also advertised as a standard double, it definitely is not in the smaller rooms, it is a small double, and this made sleeping for two a little uncomfortable. The room was also very hot even though we turned the radiator off and had the window open all night but I think this is just due to it being an older building, heat rises etc. The pool room really needs TLC. It is very overlooked and we felt really lets the hotel down. It's shame as it's a lovely space - even a quick lick of paint would bring it back to life if money doesn't allow for larger maintenance. Staff were all very friendly, especially the two we were served by in the restaurant for dinner. The food was okay but a little over priced but the service made up for that. All in all for a quick overnight stop it was fine.

Everything was great accept. I had paid for the room in advance. When the clerk asked for my card I thought he was checking my card matched the card on record. He proceed to chard me for the room again £78. Said there was outstanding balance. After taking the money I said excuse it had been paid. He then said s sorry I’ll issue a refund. But this has caused me issue I was only in Southampton 1 day and I only had 90£ to spend after he done this I only had 10 £ left he then tried to take more money for the second room. I had to borrow money and now I have e to wait 5-7 days to get the refund. The next day. My flight was delayed. And although taking my money.
