Lovely surroundings and the service is attentive and polite. The morning service is a great experience!

The room is spacious, bright, clean and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner are very rich, and the environment is elegant and pleasant. In particular, the traditional Buddhist culture experience left a deep impression on us. A great stay!

The temple is really beautiful with stunning paintings in the dining room. There is a morning worship service you can join in which starts at 6am, but you can join any time as well as leave the service. Food is really delicious, I didn’t expect much from vegetarian dishes, but they were great. The amount of food is pretty decent, I didn’t feel hungry by the morning even tho I had dinner at 5pm. I traveled alone but I believe this room is specious enough for a couple. The convent location of the temple allows to walk to the main tramples and tourist office (where I got the night tour to the cemetery booked) as well as to the Eko-in temple from where that tour sets off.

Such a beautiful experience! The meditation & ceremonies were really lovely, staff were welcoming. Only critique is that it was very cold in the corridors- but they made such an effort elsewhere so it was okay e.g. heated blankets in bed, heated meditation carpet, air conditioning etc. Thank you again! Would definitely come back

The hotel has a parking lot and is in a good location. It is only 500 meters away from Kumgangsan Temple. It has public bathrooms. Shojin cuisine is delicious. There is a morning class at 6:30 in the morning. It is good to experience it.

This temple stay is amazing. Vegetarian breakfast and dinner was great. The morning prayer and fire ritual was great to take part in. They also offered an afternoon mediation tutorial. There was a night tour for the cemetery, however I did not take part. It was a little concerning that the English tour was ¥1000 yen more than the Japanese tour. Overall I highly recommend this place.

This was a super memorable experience and well worth the trip. You get an insight into Buddhist temple life, a tour of the temple, delicious vegetarian dinner and breakfast, plus there is a really nice public bath. The monks were very kind and welcoming.

A short walk from Ekoin, very hospitable and friendly service. Room is big and clean with heater provided. Public bath is big but there’s only one so have to reserve slot. They have fire goma ritual everyday for guests and also sutra writing for free provided. Very recommended temple stay!

Very nice stay, very friendly & welcoming staff and the room we had had the view on the garden which is beautiful! The common area is nice for sitting down for a drink with friends!

We didn’t expect it’s not a hostel but Buddhist temple) it was a nice experience to live here. It’s very clean inside and rooms look like typical Japanese minkas inside. The place is very picturesque around and it’s easy to get there.
