GGuest UserThe ryokan is situated just a few minutes’ walk from Chusha Daimon bus stop and Kuzuryusha Shrine—an ideal location for us as we stayed for two nights and focused on visiting the five shrines and nearby local shops. The ryokan is clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and warm. A few staff members speak basic English, which was helpful. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were delicious—be sure to arrive with an empty stomach so you can fully enjoy the many courses and variety of dishes. The onsen is cozy and relaxing. Yukata are provided, and the amenities are well stocked, making the stay very comfortable. Nearby, there is a soba noodle shop where we enjoyed a hearty meal and even ordered dessert multiple times while waiting for the snowfall to ease before continuing our shrine walk. Right next to the soba shop is a souvenir store where you can pick up a few mementos to bring home. There is also a shuttle bus available within the Togakushi area, but my brother and I chose to walk while visiting all five shrines, which was a wonderful experience. A truly lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.
