Kind of sad experience... While hotel and resort staff are very helpful and eager to provide a pleasant experience, the management did not lift a finger when facing a serious problem. There were a couple of huge annoying cockroaches in the first 36 hrs of my stay and the only solution proposed by the “nice” lady manager of this 4 star hotel was to fumigate the room when I was there. Her explanation was that the cockroach flied in from outside; I found out that in fact, lower resort floors are full of these insects. The picture shows my second guest in 36 hrs, so in the end I cut my stay short and left.

The hotel room was really untidy and in poor condition. Our room was also clearly in one of the old areas of the hotel, far from everything, and I thought that for that price we paid you could even get a sea view, but our window was facing the hotel's parking lot. There was a hole in the sofa, there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom, and there was a lot of dust in the light fixture, which can already be a fire safety risk. These were also never cleaned. There were also holes in the curtains. The hotel restaurant staff was also really rude/improper. Especially one older lady here. There was no mention anywhere that the breakfast/dinner does not include e.g. soft drinks, but on the third day the waiter came to yell at us in the middle of the meal and demand payment for the drinks we drank. After a long conversation, we were able to discuss the matter with him and for the rest of the holiday we drank water at his command. Soft drinks were reportedly not included in the half-board, but there is no black and white about this, so we couldn't possibly have been aware. We didn't drink alcohol, because we knew that at least it wasn't part of the half-board. There were also always screaming children in the restaurant and the noise level was really high anyway. You were never allowed to eat in peace. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to couples, it’s really like a family hotel. The only good thing about our vacation was the wonderful views and the clean pool area. The water was turquoise and tall palm trees like from the Maldives.

Paradise is the only way to describe this place. We have been to Mexico twice and much prefer this hotel and place over it. We arrived after 11pm and we had a very pleasant check in with Juan! Due to us arriving after the all inclusive was over he advised there was food sitting for late arrivals in the gorriones restaurant for us to take. This just consists of cold meats, bread rolls, fruit and yogurt and glass bottles of water to take. You chose slots for breakfast and dinner and get a one hour slot, however this can be changed day by day to your preference. Before going seen so many mixed reviews of the food however I have to say food was outstanding. Food was full of variety and was cooked to a perfect standard, could not fault it at all. During lunch the main buffet and the pool bar was open so never stuck for choice. Waiters are absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. We always had the same ones often seen which were Miguel, Youssef, Alex and Luis and Jonathan in the bar. Pools are fantastic. They don’t be jam packed so plenty of room to swim, especially if you have young children who may be scared of the water. Sunloungers are taken up by people from the crack of dawn with towels just sitting, however there is still lots of free sun loungers scattered all around. Very spacious and you don’t feel cramped around others. We had 2 panoramic sea views rooms right next to each other (719 & 720) the view was absolutely out of this world (wish I was waking up to that view every morning 🫣😭) rooms were spacious and cleaned to an excellent standard everyday. Cleaning staff are super friendly and work very hard. We often spent our evenings after dinner down in the fun pub and absolutely loved it. When it opened they had a little activity for all the kids (animation staff are fantastic) and then around 9:30/10 they had the main entertainment with some fantastic acts!! We also spent a few nights in the Gabi bar which is the lobby bar which is very chill. During our stay there was roadworks taking place along the road into the hotel so there was no public transport (buses) however you could get a taxi which reception book for you and the ETA is 5 mins MAX. We often went into costa calma which was around 7-10 euro in a taxi. The beach is just WOW. Absolutely gorgeous and the scenery around it… absolute heaven on earth. Checkout is 12pm but they have a place you can leave your luggage as well as a scale to weigh it! You still have access to all facilities - pools, food etc. I have never been so upset to have to go home. I absolutely fell in love with this place and already am looking into to booking it next year. Thank you so much to all this staff !

We choose this hotel for its remote location for a quiet and relaxing week. The photos on Jet2 website present the hotel in a very favourable way. On arrival we were welcomed by very spacious and light reception area which made a good first impression. When we got to our room our opinion changed very quickly when it was obvious that there was a problem with the balcony door. There was a gap in the door frame that allowed the gale force wind to whistle through at high volume. There was no way to stop this continually loud noise. We returned to the reception area and explained the problem and we were offered an upgraded room at our expense. The new room was a lot nicer and had a great sea view. The main issues we had during our stay were the restaurant and the closure of the main bar. The dining experience was definitely dull. It felt like a staff canteen. The food was very unimaginative and sp****. The structured dining times were not managed at all and it was basically a free for all. The closed bar from the outside looked very spacious and well presented. Unfortunately, all the guest had to squeeze into the lobby bar for a pre or post dinner drink. There was very limited seating available and the quality of the drinks on the all-inclusive package were poor. However, the staff were great and coped well. The pool area was spacious, clean and nice. Improvements could be made in signposting as nobody knew where to go. On our visit the two out of three lifts were not operating and we along with everyone else had to use the stairs frequently … we were on the 9th floor. We took advantage of the spa facilities which were great. We felt that overall the hotel was a bit tired and lacking in atmosphere. We will would not book this hotel again.

Great hotel, yes a little dated but I'm sure that's why they're closing for refurbishment. Did this ruin our holiday? Absolutely not! Upon arrival we were welcomed at reception with a smile and they even took that little extra time to greet our 5 year old. She was delighted to be made to feel special so a massive thanks for that. There are 4 pools, the biggest one is the salt water pool. These were cold but it's march so I wasn't surprised. You're soon warm once you've taken the plunge. The food I thought was decent, plenty of choice and the kitchen staff work tirelessly to keep the choices available. If I was to have a moan (which I'm likely to do) it's the first week we were here. The entertainment was upstairs and outside, which was cold, however that's my own fault for only packing shorts and T shirts. The second week they reopened the fun bar downstairs and did the entertainment there which was much better. The staff are really friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Which considering the hours and pace they work is amazing. Would I stay again? Absolutely! Probably later in the year though so I don't get caught out again with my packing habits! Many thanks to all at Melia. Special mention to Diego who works behind the bar in the fun club. Really great with the kids and always smiling. Cheers.

Location perfect for a get away from it all holiday, grounds beautiful, staff friendly and very accommodating, hotel is a little tired in places but is being refurbished this year Our only criticism would be the food - there may be a good selection but every meal was cold, we were all inclusive and this was for us a major issue, we did not expect to come to a resort where we had to microwave every meal, it was extremely disappointing so much so we ended up going into Costa Calma (€11 each way) to eat dinner !!!

Can’t fault the location, Superb👍stayed in one of the panoramic rooms, would thoroughly recommend upgrading as the views of the beach and lagoon are stunning. Landscaped pool and garden areas are well laid out with ample spaces to make the beds feel more private. We only timed our visit perfectly to experience the lagoon filling with high tide on our first visit but if you want to make sure your visit coincides with it check the Rene Egli website where there is a timetable. We have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, special shout out to Anna and Paula on reception, Matias and Diego in the Pool bar, and Victorino in the Gabi bar, we hope they will still be there when we visit next. Although the hotel is a little dated we have always found it lovely and clean none the less. The entertainment is good, a bit more sophisticated than your average holiday hotel. We are sorry to see the hotel is closing at the end of this month for renovations and refurbishments for 1-2 years. We look forward to seeing the NewLookMelia and hope to see some familiar faces returning to look after us.

Hotel Myself, Wife and Daughter rocked up on our Jet 2 transfer which took around an hour from the airport with one stop on the way, as we turned up my Wife said "Wow", the hotel is set in an amazingly secluded setting, right on the beach with access out the back of the hotel, the hotel closes in a month for renovation but personally, apart from parts being slightly dated I saw very little wrong, the inside of the hotel is just as impressive. Check In It didn't take long to get checked in, the lady behind reception was lovely and was really chatty to my 8-year old daughter. Room We were on the 5th floor looking out the side of the hotel, the room was large with a separate bed for our daughter which she loved. We had a large balcony with sunbeds on it, our only issue was the outside balcony light didn't work, we must've asked reception 4 or 5 times to get it sorted, it eventually got fixed on day 4! Pools There are 4 pools in all, a large salt water pool which looks amazing but my daughter didn't like as it was "too salty"!! There's a large rectangle pool which is primarily used for swimmers, another pool which is freshwater and then a small kids pool with 2 slides. All of them were very cold but it is February so we expected it! The pool area grounds were really nice, probably one of the best we've had at any hotel we've visited. Bars/Drinks There is a pool bar (Oasis Bar) which has self service beer, wine, cava, water, tea, coffee soft drinks and then a barman/maid to make you cocktails, etc. There's also ice-cream for the kids. There is also a bar upstairs (Gabi Bar) which is signed as "adults only" but as the fun pub downstairs was only open the first night we were there it definitely wasn't just for adults, I could imagine this being very annoying for couples who come expecting an adults only bar to see kids running around. The Gabi bar also had a lovely outside terrace which had live music on every night. The drinks selection was good for all-inclusive, lots of cocktails, the beer was decent and some nice mocktails for my daughter, the staff were always friendly and made an impression on my daughter who loved going to the bar for a "San Francisco". The fun pub downstairs looked really nice but was actually only open properly on one night which was a shame because of this the Gabi Bar got very busy and at times you couldn't get a seat. Restaurants/Food Next to the Oasis bar is a snack bar which is open 12-5:30 every day, there was a decent selection of food from pizzas and burgers to pasta, salad and desserts. On the second floor was the main restaurant which opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I have to say I was impressed with the variety of food overall, especially at dinners, breakfast wasn't amazing, mainly because quite a lot of it was luke warm at best but I did love the freshly cooked omelettes. Kids Entertainment This for me is where the hotel really fell short. We knew there was a kids club open 11-1 each day but on most d
