Stayed here for two nights. Room was clean and spacious. Really liked the TV being behind a mirror. Breakfast was nice. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the menu was the same which was slightly disappointing as my GLW struggled to find things she wanted to eat ( it’s not an extensive menu). Had cocktails from the bar, which were unique! and wine with meals of which they have a great selection. We heard that there were new owners so perhaps there will be changes happening.

Staff are very friendly, and the food is good although overpriced. Unfortunately the rooms are nowhere near the standard that would be required to justify the prices charged. We were told that the hotel has recently come under new ownership and so the rooms in their current state are not their fault. In this case we would recommend drastically reducing the room rates until a major upgrade is carried out (attached is a photo of the window next to the toilet from where one can be seen by all guests arriving at the hotel, we utilized a mirror and a painting from the room decor for privacy). There are organizational issues as well, our room only had one large towel, no handtowels, the bathroom was dirty, and there were none of the requisite items for our dogs when we arrived. We complained upon arrival but were not seen by the manager whom we needed to ask to meet the following day, our comments were deflected rather than accepted, however in the end we were offered a discount on our first night and allowed to leave early without paying the remaining night on the original booking, remediation we found to be satisfactory.

The most incredible place I’ve ever stayed in all my travels. They go out of their way to pamper you in luxury. Paul is amazing , as all the team. The food was delicious, the rooms impeccable in comfort. The grounds are beautiful and inviting. Awesome!

As you approach, it is a lovely setting and building but our room wasnt ready when we arrived well after 3 the check in time, after a long journey. al we had to wait 30 mins. When we finally got into our room, hoping to relax, we were disturbed by so much banging of doors it nearly drove us mad !! It turned out to be the domestic staff who were laughing and joking and making a lot of noise. We had a standard room which was ok but the ensuite was small and uninspiring for the money - no seperate shower and nowhere to put our stuff. On the positive side -the bed was comfortable, the linen good and the towels lovely. We ate in the bistro and our food wasnt great. My husbands rib eye steak was tough and so thin it was ridiculous - there was no way it could ever be cooked medium rare ! Plus we had to pay a £6.50 supplement each on top of what was already an expensive meal. !! So the 2 courses of average food were over £100 each ! We really feel our stay certainly was not worth the money !

Going to a Relais & Chateau always comes with high expectations. The property is beautiful and the service was good. Everyone is attentive without being too intrusive. The only call out will be the restaurant and breakfast quality. It does not meet Relais& Chateau standards.

A magical break away, Pale is enchanting and has been on our bucket list for years. It really didn’t disappoint! The staff made the whole experience magical and the food and service were great. Our room was slightly dated but that is me being extra fussy as it was exceptionally clean and had some lovely finishing touches. Thanks to Tony and his team - we’d love to come back!

Amazing stay at Pale Hall. Right from the start expectations were exceeded, received a call a week before to check dinner status which sadly we couldn't attend due to other engagements. The hotel itself is lovely and has such character. Breakfast was very good. Every staff member from front of house, restaurant & bar staff, housekeeping and even the GM were so friendly and helpful during our visit. Would definitely return.

This is a beautiful house but not sure you could call it a hotel! We had a beautiful bedroom called Powys, but not practical no comfortable seating.The bathroom had no place to put your toiletries, the bath is cast iron and not easy to get out of, the walk in shower has no seat to sit on to dry your feet before you step out on the carpet! Luckily we were only staying one night. The dinner at night was very expensive and very little of it and if you like good wine we’ll forget it. We were the only guest ! The teapots are silver and you could not pour as the handles were too hot ! No marmalade and the waiter had disappeared outside to wipe the chairs just like faulty towers! We carried our own luggage and my husband had to get the car as the staff had not arrived at 8.30! This is a place to miss sorry, the management is new and obviously don’t know how to run a 5star hotel!

What a fabulous venue, for just a drink, afternoon tea, lunch or an over night stay ! Beautiful grounds, with amazing rooms and decor, we stayed for a drink and will definite be going back in near future. The staff were really helpful and friends, , nothing too much trouble, in particular we would like to make a special mention for Patricia and Marcus, who gave us exceptional service !
