Hotels near Castle Monastry & Castle Gate in Lubeck

FÜR MICH POSITIV: 1. Sehr kurzer Laufweg vom/zum Hauptbahnhof. 2. Nur ca. 10 Minuten Laufweg zur Altstadt und zum Wasser (Trave). Bspw. ist sehr nahe Holsten-Tor gelegen. 3. Supermärkte, Drogeriemärkte u.ä. in Laufnähe. 4. Alles sehr sauber. FÜR MICH PERSÖNLICH NACHTEILIG: 1. Laut | wenig erholsam: 1.1 Laut aufgrund der Lage: Das Hotel liegt wirklich unmittelbar an mehreren Bahngleisen, einer (für Lübecker Verhältnisse) stark befahrenen Straße und aktuell kommt noch ein größerer Baustellenbereich dazu. Bei offenem Fenster Ruhe zu finden, war nur bis zum nächsten Zug alle paar Minuten möglich. Das Fenster war also zwangsläufig geschlossen. Vor allem bei sommerlichen Temperaturen und wenn man zu zweit im Zimmer ist, wenig erholsam. 1.2 Laut aufgrund der Badlüftung: Die Badlüftung lief durchgängig 24/7. Wenn man das Licht im Bad anmachte, noch lauter als so schon. 2. Sehr klein: Für ein Doppelzimmer sehr klein. Vor allem wenn beide Gäste Gepäck haben, äußerst schwierig. Zwischen Fenster und Bett war nur ein ganz, ganz schmaler Bereich zum Laufen (siehe Foto). Mein Koffer lag zwischen Bett und TV-Wand. Da ist dann vom Fenster her aber kein Laufweg mehr frei (siehe Foto). 3. Kaum Ablagemöglichkeiten: Es gibt nur zwei kleine Nachttischchen, eine Ablage/Tisch gleich neben der Badtür (links unten im Foto) und ein schmales hängendes Regal mit 3 Fächern (ganz rechts am Rand des Fotos). Eine Garderobenstange bietet 3 feste Kleiderbügel von denen 2 von mir zwangsläufig für Handtücher genutzt werden mussten, da es im Bad zwar Haken gab, die Handtücher aber über keinerlei Schlaufen verfügen, an denen man sie hätte aufhängen können. Auch gab es keine Stange oder Handtuchheizung, an denen man die Handtücher hätte aufhängen können. 4. Bad: Handtuchsituation siehe vorstehend. Keine Taschentücher/Abschminktücher. Kein Vergrößerungsspiegel zum Schminken ＞ Ich bin nur 1,65m und musste mich dadurch sehr über den breiteren Waschtisch / das Waschbecken verrenken, um mich für den Arbeitstag schminken zu können. 5. Vorhänge/Sichtbarkeit: Am Fenster gibt es nur einen dicken Vorhang. Keine lichtdurchlässige Gardine. Also: Entweder man zieht den Vorhang zu, sodass der Raum dadurch für die gegenüber auf der anderen Seite der Gleise liegenden Häuser nicht einsehbar ist - sitzt aber im Stockdunkeln bzw. muss auch tagsüber die Lampen anmachen. Oder man lässt den Vorhang offen und zeigt sich ggf. auch mal nackt. Muss man mögen. 6. Keine Minibar bzw. kein kleiner Kühlschrank, um v.a. bei sommerlichen Temperaturen mal etwas Essbares/Trinkbares reinlegen zu können. 7. Preis: Aufgrund all der vorstehend angegebenen Punkte sind 73 Euro/Nacht ohne Frühstück und für nur eine Person für mich persönlich zu viel.

Friendship of staff and service were excellent! Rooms were super and the housekeeping was absolutely perfect! Breakfast had a large selection including all drinks, for me no wish was unfulfilled. The responsible staff were very careful and helpful!

We were here four nights with a group trip, room very dated, various things broke and room wasn't clean. The floor was a lot of sand and hair of the guests before. 'The morning asked to clean it, but the evening did not, when he returned, and then the gentleman wasn't all the dust. Other guests told us they had a room with a terrible smoke air. This can't really be. Breakfast is fine. enough offer and delicious. Dinners are also good. Also friendly staff in the restaurant. The staff at the reception is not very friendly. Is the hotel's visiting card. This can be much better for us never again this hotel. However, 2 stars because the food was good

I should have read the reviews for this hotel prior to booking as they were very accurate. My son was hospitalized and I needed a quiet place to stay after he was released. I asked for two (2) full sized beds and got a bed and a sofa sleeper. The room was in the front of the hotel, on the first floor and it was very loud due to the company located across the street. The blinds were broken and I was concerned about privacy. Some of the lights didn't work, the shower spilled all over the place and as other guests have stated - breakfast was virtually non-existent. They were out of 'warm' coffee and when I inquired at the front desk, I was told that they ran out. I checked in on a Thursday and checked out on Saturday. Why wouldn't you prepare accordingly. This was NOT a boutique hotel as there was nothing personalized or intimate about my stay. Not sure who owns this hotel but they should read ALL of the reviews and make an effort to address these concerns. Especially since the comments are pretty consistent.

Me and my husband stayed four nights in this hotel for our summer holiday in Germany in 2020. Nb not 2022. Perfect location close to the Altstadt and the river in Lubeck. Because of the corona the pool and sauna was closed. We thought that any 5 star hotel should have a gym but this hotel had not. We went to the High 5 gym near by. But we certainly recommend the High5 gym, and the reception should also recommend a gym when guests ask for it. Breakfast had a variety of offers. We spent a few mornings in the outside cafeteria on the lawn outside the hotel in the nice sun. The cleanliness was good and the staff was polite. But some of the receptionists seemed a bit more formal or reserved than we are used to from Scandinavia. A little smile or two can do a lot! We would like to come back for The Christmas marked.

We had a superior room with direct view to the kitchen lake, this is just recommended, from room 22 you can already look at the lake in bed, from the terrace of course. The staff were friendly, a coffee/tea preparation option in the room, very delicious breakfast buffet, quiet location of the rooms in the new building, with a little luck a free parking option at the hotel, In the vicinity of the lake you can drive tretboat. Whoever likes can also bath directly at the hotel in the lake. In the bathroom there could be light (no direct lighting at the mirror) an enlargement mirror is available, the facility, especially the many different lamps in the room and in the hotel itself have very enjoyed, a pleasant atmosphere, it offers for stays where you want to rest in a short time. Only cleanliness could be improved. At first glance it seemed totally clean, but the table on the terrace had spots of glasses, although we had not been there, so it must have been from previous guests. For the natural rehabilitation at the lake it is perfect, because of the city I would not travel there, but because of the hotel again at any time. The breakfast buffet did not open wishes, four different juices, countless tea varieties, coffee specialities, delicious whirlpool, a variety of offers. The friendly service at the breakfast table is especially mentioned.
