Victoria Hotel

Clean tidy hotel room. Nicely decorated. The king size(maybe bigger) bed was extremely comfortable. The only down points were the windows let in a lot of cold air. Okay, the first night there was a gale force wind and secondly the windows I think were original Georgian single pain glass. The bathroom was very nice and also clean but the shower didn't fit the holder properly so I had to hold it when showering and there was a hole in the pipe that leads from the mixer to the shower head so water was firing out all over. Those are the only 2 points that were wrong with the room otherwise the room was fine so don't be put off.

Nice little hotel right on the seafront and only a short walk into town. Great value and staff very helpful.

We booked this hotel around a week before we travelled as it had good reviews. I tried contacting the hotel by phone on several occasions over two days before booking but no one was answering the phone and my answerphone message wasn't responded to. That aside, the two ladies we dealt with on Reception on arrival and departure were excellent and the room was well furnished and modern. However, I did notice a layer of dust on the lamp base when I had the lamp on in the evening which did make me wonder how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The smoke alarm in the room was also missing it's cover and the lights were behaving a little strangely when switched on first thing in the morning (constantly dimming and then getting brighter for the first couple of minutes). These were just minor ******* but still annoying. We were also a little concerned that being on the top floor (third floor?) whether we'd get out in the event of a fire with no fire escape. I'm sure the hotel met fire regs but we were still concerned all the same. Overall, our stay was a comfortable one and the hotel has obviously had a lot of inves**ent in recent years (it was presumably a former guest house?). One other thing to mention is parking. On street parking in the area was difficult to come by if you were looking to park close to the hotel. There is, though, a pay & display car park a couple of streets away.

Beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Just the twin beds pushed together as a double was a touch uncomfortable.

Had some very loud late night arrivals from the gig venue, also a very hot night and with windows open a lot of noise from the street so a very noisy night. Room was otherwise quite nice and staff was helpful. Also location is good.

I arrived a little earlier than the check in time but that wasn't a problem and I was able to get my key promptly the room was brilliant for the price and everything worked and the cleanliness was on point staff were helpful and friendly and let me leave my bag after checking out to enjoy the rest of my day

Nice clean room, plenty of space, simple check in. Few tiny ******* round the edges which can be easily fixed. E.g. turn heating on prior to arrivals so room is nice and warm.

The property was really nice. Staff was super friendly and polite. We stayed there for quick vacation for few days, room was warm with beautiful sea view. 5 star experience !
