Hotels near Sanitama in Marrakech

We checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

Lovely would recommend. Cheap and cheerful. Don’t know why people are so negative about this place, I would stay here again. Clean, beds made everyday, clean towels, friendly staff. Located twenty minute walk from the square, and the souks. Off licence around the corner, which sells plenty of beer, wine and spirits. £11.00, for a bottle of wine and six beers. Highly recommended!!!

This is our 8th visit to Aqua Fun Club, as a family of 7; 2 adults & 5 Children. We have been many other resorts around the world in-between our annual visit here, this is our favourite! From arriving to leaving each time, we couldn't have asked for better. ❤️ spotless rooms ❤️ fresh bedding daily ❤️ amazing waiters, special thanks to Mr Samir and Younes, who year on year ensures the food, service and atmosphere are amazing ❤️ none stop activities from the entertainment team, especially Momo,Memo & Ayo who are amazing in keeping the kids and us adults entertained and keep the competitive streak going ❤️ An on site shop, ran by the most welcoming and friendly man, Adul Malik. ❤️ the waterslides are amazing ( with even more being built resdy for 2025 season, the kids pools with slides on the pirate ship and the princess castle are great too. We come around April/May when the weather is around 28-34°C, in 8 visits, we have never had a bad experience or a bad moment. The location is great, everything is nice and neat without going into luxury (which is to be expected for the price point), the staff is also super helpful plus the included breakfast is a nice touch (during my stay it was coffee/tea/orange juice with bread/pancakes and honey/jam/butter) - together with the tours that you can book directly (I also had a great experience with the driver and the guide) makes it so you have few things to worry about during your stay. The bathroom set-up is also clean and well put together which is a huge plus. Loved the terraces as well. Absolutely recommended.

Short drive from marakesh airport(20 mins). On arrival at the Tui Medina Gardens , no need to rush and get your case off first , to be first in to get your room. Everyone is offered a drink and asked to have seat , you will be called out as per couple , to pick up your room key and towel card, this is well organised , this system should be used at other Tui hotels . Room 1304. This was very clean , compliments to housekeeping staff ,are rooms were made up daily . Only problem we had was the shower was very slippy, this was soon rectified by the reception staff and Tui rep, next day there was a rubber mat in our shower. Air con was brilliant in the room and set at 15 deg, concidering the temperature outside was 40+. We had a 3rd floor room with a balcony and a view over the pool and gardens looking towards the Koutoubia mosque, this looks amazing when lit up at night . Restaurant. This is very clean throughout , food is plentiful and varied and if you cant get a meal out of what is on offer you are just being picky . Compliments to the head chef and his team Waiting on staff are excellent and tend to your needs , Pool. Main pool is cleaned daily . Pool side beds there is about 30 beds around the main pool , if you want one off these you have to be up early to get your spot for when the beds are put out at 8am you dont want to buy in to this there are plenty of beds in the gardens. Pool activities . Fitness pool arobics volleyball etc run by 'G' & Chloe the energy these put out in leaves you in ore of them in the heat and they will jump in the pool with you to do the arobics.., this is well worth watching and entertaining. Pool side bar . Run by Mustapha ( the man , the Legend), he came up to us on our first day and introduced himself, his people skills are excellent and always has a smile for everyone and makes everyone feel very welcome. All the bar staff are excellent and have time for everyone. Nothing is to much trouble Inside bar. Bar staff are excellent and will have a laugh with you . Waiters Siad , Mohsine waited on us many times and always have time for a chat while doing their job . All the staff speak good English and will help you when trying to speak Moroccan. Regarding the room, a mixed start to my stay and a first evening, being very manic and looking at cleanliness, my first room was very dusty and poorly insulated, the next day, the reception team told me about it. changed rooms, much less dust but not up to my expectations, I think the rooms need a little more maintenance and refreshing. Regarding the common areas, cleanliness is excellent and hydroalcoholic gel is available. As for the gym and the swimming pool, great I have nothing to say, very well maintained. The catering is correct too bad some of the hotel's restaurants are closed due to the Covid. The agents at the reception, catering, SPA and swimming pool are attentive and are very responsive. Too bad there is no possibility of transfer from the airport which is very nice when you land at 11:50 pm. Finally, the stay went well despite some improvements to be made and a sense of detail to be developed. Thank you for this stay.

With the hindsight of some of the reviews i have read on this hotel, my conclusion after just staying here for a few days is they are absolutely not giving the hotel the justice it derserves. Yes the hotel is old, might be some tiles missing here and there' or some wall plug not sitting 100 % in the wall. But generally its not a problem that can't be solved if you ask the staff they are both friendly and helpfull. With a large family in marrakech and the experience of travelling here every other year for the last 30 years this is nothing out of the ordinary on hotels of marrakech unless you are staying at something absolutely high end hotel which will probably cost you small fortune Garden is magnificent with a spacious pool area, friendly and helpfull staff that solves any problems you might have, good food with fair prices. Rooms are spacious well ventilated (Ive read a lot of people complaining about the A/C, to that i can just say morocco is one of the warmest places on earth specially during the summer time and thats not anything even the best A/C can solve) The only negative thing is the area around the hotel once was a ”highend” district with lots of luxury hotels sadly the last couple of years the area has been in decay leaving it quite ”dead” which means you have to find a taxi to get to anywhere interesting which is not a big cost (20Dh-40dh), but can be tricky if you are travelling more then 3 persons due to lack of big taxis and the fact that small taxi´s only take 3 people. We had a great stay. Clean and nice room with comfy bed. Breakfast by the pool was great. Staffs were nice and friendly especially the door gentleman! Check-in was a bit of a pain as it took ages (lack of staff when i arrived)… we needed to rest badly but had to wait for like 20 mins. Lifts are very old and slow but luckily there wasn’t many guests so it wasn’t a burden. Ingeneral i think it was a good value hotel. We would come back!

We have recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing time! The rooms are very comfortable, the food is great (amazing choice for breakfast!), the indoor heated pool is amazing and relaxing, the outdoor pool is spacious and relaxing and the sun-beds are very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to a mall and many restaurants. A special mention to all the staff members who work here- they are so helpful and friendly! We especially want to mention the following staff: Fatima at reception was very welcoming, Mohammed for his amazing tea and friendliness, Assam and Ismail for being so helpful and friendly at concierge, Abdul Kareem for being great at the pool side bar, Madi for being a great recreational manager, Loutfi for being very helpful in the bar and Essafi for being a helpful security man! You all made our visit so special! We recommend this hotel for great service, food and facilities!
