A beautiful drive into the property! I felt like I was back in time. A five star appearance. Inside is another story. As you check in at the desk, the office is visible and not giving the ambiance you would expect, with shelves of papers and in seeming disarray. Met by a lovely young red headed girl, cheery and welcoming. Our room had a beautiful view of the front field and had a Victorian canopy bed- just what we had pictured. But …there was a worn 1980s leather sofa on one wall, dead bugs on the floor by the window, moulding separating, worn chair coverings. Sp**** and mismatched furnishings. Dinner was quite good but terrible service. I finally had to get up and go to another table and tell the waiter to charge our dinner to the room so we could leave. Stephen was a saving grace! He took our bags from the lobby up the stairs. Then he brought ice. Then he was at the bar and showed us around the property, after knowing we would leave too early for the noon tour. Finally, as he passed through the dining room, and he brought our drinks, which we had waited for ad finitum. I actually asked if he owned the hotel! He was a gem. In addition to Stephen, we were delighted at breakfast by a young girl from Portugal. She ran from table to table making sure everyone had what they needed. I did not get her name- cute in glasses! We tipped her what we might have given to the waiter the previous night had he been mildly attentive. A fun experience. Not to be discouraging, just know what you expect. Ask for Stephen!

Had a great time at Belleek Castle for my birthday. What a fun place to stay, full of interesting history, and historical artifacts collected by the owner. Dinner at the Library restaurant was wonderful - service was outstanding and the food delicious. Shout out to Stephen the bartender and the Manager of the restaurant Costa - who were fantastic hosts - and make a mean "Hot Whisky" to soothe a lingering cold. The addition of amaretto was a revelation! Found out the morning of departure that "apparently" spirits of the past occasionally inhabit the room. That made our stay that much more fun - but never saw or felt a presence. The room was comfortable but needs a little love.

Fantasy stay, I can highly recommend, staff are amazing especially raja on the front desk, so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast had everything you could wish for, dinner is out of this world and of course the bar is like nothing you have ever seen, the carpentry is unbelievable, all fantastic. Thankyou

My brother and I were travelling Ireland by Motorcycle and had an absolutely fabulous stay at the end of April. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Dined in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The grounds and location are beautiful. I've stayed in hotels in over 75 countries and this was one of my favourites.

This hotel is well located on the outskirts of the town of Ballina. It is an authentic old castle but well maintained and very clean. The bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast and evening dinner were good. The staff were efficient and pleasant. There are lovely walks around the grounds adajacent to the hotel and the cafe in the grounds Jack Fenns deserves a special mention for its lovely coffee and snacks. I would say that if you have mobility issues this may not be suitable due to the lack if a lift

I give Belleek Castle a 9 out of 10. I am a 9-year-old girl. I'm a half Japanese and Irish. I like geography and natural history. During the castle tour, I was impressed with Indian katar, swords, spears and armour. They even had Japanese armour and it was very interesting. Everything was amazing in the fossil room including the mammoth teeth and tusks. Maybe we will visit again...

Amazing staff, food in the restaurant is the best we have had in years. Beautiful ambiance and grounds - full of charm and personality . Special mention to the barmen Stephen and Colm who make the most fantastic cocktails and even created a super St Patrick Shake .

Spent a mid week night away at this hidden gem ! This small intimate castle with ten bedrooms is Devine . Open fires and candles lit everywhere . Our room with its four poster bed overlooked the garden , big and spacious with a great bathroom . Dinner in the library was excellent . Lovely atmosphere and the owner and his son were on site always to enjoy great conversations . Beautiful part of the country and we did the castle tour the following morning . Don’t visit the castle without doing the tour it’s fantastic and our tour guide was so good . It’s the staff that make Beleek Castle so special , these people genuinely love where they work and take a keen interest in their customers . Beleek Castle was built in 1800 and retains its Authenticity . I highly recommend a visit even a walk in if you’re in the area but to really enjoy the experience you must stay the night at this magical place !!!
