We had an AMAZING stay at Zarafa. It was peaceful, luxurious, private and so beautiful there. We especially loved our private breakfast at our villa and the multi-course dinner was outstanding every night. Our attendant was Timmy and he was incredible and so kind. We would absolutely stay again if we have another opportunity to do so.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at The Zarafa. The villas are placed in a way that accords you total privacy. You are in your own little cocoon. The food was so delicious and irresistible and we gained more kilos than when we first arrived. Barry and his staff were very welcoming, made us feel at home and very special. We will definitely be visiting The Zarafa again.

Thank you to Barry, Peter and all the staff for making our stay so special. This was our second visit to Zarafa and it was nothing short of amazing and blissful. Together with my husband they made my birthday extra special. The food is next level and the beautiful villa is perfection. Absolutely worth every cent. Can't wait to visit again. We have visited many places in this valley, but Zarafa blew us away. Barry and his team is incredible. The rooms are beyond anything we have ever experienced with incredible infinity pool. The food was just beyond 5 star quality. A must for anybody and add Zarafa to your bucket list today.

My parter and I spent a night at The Zarafa for her 30th birthday (sadly they had been fully booked the previous night) and had a fabulous time. It had been my partner's dream to go to Bali for her birthday but the situation didn't allow, so this was the next best thing! The Bali theme was great, and gave the place a feeling of being somewhere else besides just outside Hazyview! The suites were great, with comfy beds, good amenities and a very large, relaxing bath. We enjoyed a massage on the afternoon we arrived and this is highly recommended! During the evening we made our way to the dining area which, despite being affected by load-shedding, was wonderfully set out for the two of us, and we sat and enjoyed some drinks with the owner and chef and enjoyed the story of how The Zarafa came to be, and how all the decor came from Bali itself. The seven-course meal was fine dining at it's best, and really blew both of us away - the presentation, the flavours and sadly for my waist-line, the amount were just fantastic and possibly was the highlight of our stay there! We had a leisurely morning at the villa the next day as the sun painted the hilly surrounds in warm colours as we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and before we knew it it was time go....we will be back, and next time it will be for longer than just one night! For those looking to spoil yourselves in the Hazyview area, look no further than The Zarafa

The staff is amazing and the owners too. Thank you to Barrie, Peter, Thabiso and Clifford for treating us like absolute royalty. You made our stay very special and definitely one we cannot forget. We can't wait to visit again. God bless you all at Zarafa ❤️

If weather favours you, this will be one of the best experiences you can ever have in any hotel you will ever visit in your lifetime. There is nothing I could add more than what pictures already say, everything is as amazing as it looks! Dinner, View, Rooms are simply out of this world. The villas have all the possible comforts and it’s all super quiet. One can tell the staff really tries hard to be the best, but unfortunately I’ve found a couple of things that are almost unacceptable for a place which such (alleged) high standards: we chose the breakfast to be served at the villa and they completely ignored many of the items we chose (they ask guests to fill a sheet the night before). The breakfast itself is really below the standards anyway, be aware. Is not bad, just below the quality you'll find at dinner (which is amazing), and the level of the hotel itself, this is something they should really look into (without of course rising the tariffs!). When we had breakfast in the actual restaurant, the day after, the service was really slow. I later found out that what they do while you are having breakfast on your checkout day, is entering the rooms and taking all the items away from the minibar (which is very well stocked, btw). Now I personally didn't know how to take this thing, first hotel I see doing that. I mean, I can see the reason behind, but at the same time that made me feel uncomfortable. The pool could also do with a better cleaning. Is not filthy or anything, but then again is all about keeping those standards the hotel is set up to: the water was kind of cloudy ish, as strange as it might sound, it could have probably done with a bit more chlorine, hygene first! Apart from this, The Zarafa, for what it offers, is very good value for money (for foreign tourists! Is completely unaffordable for any average southafrican) and is totally worth at least a two night stay, and make sure you have plenty of time to stay IN and enjoy your villa instead of going around exploring all day! True paradise from the moment you drive into the complex where often Giraffes and Wildebeests are there to welcome you, to when you go to bed with the (at least for me) soothing sounds of frogs and crickets.
