I never did any research on Thalassa until i booked, after reading a lot of negative comments i set myself for what could be a bad experience. In Brief this was a brilliant holiday. Firstly, book transfers with your booking, i didn't, reason why, the hour & 30 minuets transfer put me off. so, i booked a Taxi through Trip advisor thinking after the flight id be direct to the hotel . Taxi was on time & Great! But i was stung on the price. £70 English sterling i paid thinking that was a reasonable price. With the exchange rate from sterling to Tunisian, knowing know, we was stung really, so don't make that mistake. Take cash with you to exchange as Tunisia is a closed currency. on arrival to the hotel you have to pay tax, this was only a small amount, i cannot remember off the top of my head. There is a Cash machine at the airport across the road, 15 minuet walk. But try and avoid as you wont want to make this trip out after getting to the Hotel, Especially in the dark when your unsure of your surroundings. When you do exchange your English to Dina, keep the recipe! if you do not spend your Tunisian Dina, you can only exchange on your departure home at the airport, they will not exchange with out this receipt. They will not let you leave the country with Dina's either so you will loose it. A note on how much cash to take, i took £200 Sterling and came home with £60! you cannot spend it with how cheap Tunisia is. For every £1 you get 3.91 Dina's. £50 Dina deposit for Beach towels, you can exchange daily at the beach hut for fresh towels. Entertainment, Steve is the man! Great character, full of energy. Daily Activities, stretching from 10am pool side with music, water aerobics, Darts, ping pong and mini golf. Evenings Plenty on, we were spoilt with Mark Harrison, great bloke who was very good! Disco till 12pm everynight, Bar closes the same time. Drink options, the beer is good, small glasses are often given to you, say you would like a large beer, they give you a nice big glass, same for other drinks, white wine was very good, Gin also. There are waiters dotted around all day & on the night, they wont ask you for a drink until you ask, a small tip of 10 Dina, £2.56, your drinks will be served as soon as you run out with out asking, this goes a long way for the waiters. Food, i cannot fault the food, Brilliant in fact. If you like your meat ( chicken, beef & Turkey ) there are plenty on show. Nice fresh salads afternoon & Tea. If you are a fussy eater, there are fresh pizzas made on the pizza oven, chips and all your usuals. Tunisian dishes are good to try, cuss cuss is very good! Freshly made omelettes in the mornings with your choice of cheese, peppers & onions. Freshly squozen orange juice too. Avoid getting Taxi's, once you leave the resort, there are 5/6 cars out side, they will approach you and try there very best to get you in, dont, just say no thank you and walk. The train station is next to the airport ( 15 mins maximum walk
