Circus Hostel&Hotel Montevideo

The hostel is well located in the historic part, has a good structure and accommodation, however the hygiene of the room for individual accommodation, especially the bathroom, left a lot to be desired. We requested cleaning and even after that it still had stains and cobwebs, they just changed the carpet.

I simply loved! Excellent location, at the end of the street you can see the edge of the La Plata River, two blocks above the promenade, close to everything, shops, shops, port. I stayed in a private room with bathroom, very clean, window to the street, air conditioning, I loved my stay and would certainly return. The only negative point is that they don't serve breakfast, considering that stores open late, the only option for coffee was McDonald's and Starbucks, which open at around 7:30 in the morning.

Overall the stay was satisfactory. What I didn't like about the room I stayed in was that the only window it had looked out onto a corridor where other guests could pass by. As I was traveling alone I felt insecure about leaving the window open at night, and that it always had to be closed when I wasn't there. Very friendly staff, who helped me a lot and answered all my questions about the city. Very good location. Very good internet too.

The service has not been very good, the receptionist only limited herself to telling us the number of our room, but she did not show us the place or explain to us the spaces that we could live in the hostel and based on experiences in hostels they always show you the place, the kitchen, bathrooms, terrace. Well not here, you have to find out on your own. Not only that, but they also gave me a thin blanket and when I went to ask for another one (taking into account that we are two guests in the room) the guy at the reception said he didn't have any and to wait until the next day. How strange that in a hotel and hostel you don't have more blankets? In short, the staff leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hand, it also doesn't have a kitchen or refrigerator (which prevents us from being able to cook and reduce expenses), so I don't know why it's called a hostel, obviously they didn't explain that to us when we paid for the room. To highlight the cleanliness and location of the hostel are impeccable, the rooms have private bathrooms and there is hot coffee available all day.

Hotel has 24-hour reception, good wifi, simple room but the price was low, the hotel's drawback is that they don't accept cards so in my opinion it makes life difficult for some guests. This information should be included here in the descriptions.
