Hotel Ars Vivendi Munchen

Great location, friendly staff, close to the subway and lots of nice restaurants.

Great location and was fine as a room to sleep in, while exploring all that munich has to offer. No frills or anything extra, just a place to get some sleep.

Pleasant area near U5 station, nice park next door had large Saturday flea market sale.

A quite nice place to stay in Munich, clean and very comfortable. It is close to a U-bahn station and you can be in the center of Munich in about 5 minutes. If you visit this hotel during Octoberfest is just 15 minutes away from there. Just communicate with the reception for the check in because it is not open all the time.

This is a basic, adequate 2-star hotel that met my criteria: clean, quiet, comfortable, easy to find and conveniently located. There is a nice, simple park and metro station nearby. There are at least two bakeries around the corner, and a short walk further a large, wooded park and an adjacent beer garden. Overall very quiet. Noise from street or other guests was either barely noticeable or non-existent. I slept very well. My only gripe is that I arrived midday during a window when they were closed. This seems to be a Germany thing as I haven't experienced this in other European countries. I could not even enter a lobby just to escape the rain. There was a 'be back later' sign on the door but it was only in German. So verify this time frame and when you intend to arrive with the hotel. Other minor issues were an older carpet with some small stains, and a slightly cramped bathroom. But overall didn't make things seem dingy or uncomfortable. A balcony was a bonus. Oh, and people have complained about a 'long haired guy' at the desk not being very hospitable. I met someone with long hair named Rico, and when I spoke politely in English I found him to be very engaging and helpful. In other words I made him my friend and everything was fine.

The hotel was close to Octoberfest and public transportation (solo traveler, on foot). Good restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner was just a block away.
