I had mixed feelings about the hotel. While the location is excellent, the noise level was unacceptable due to its position at a main intersection. I struggled to get restful sleep, as I was frequently disturbed by the constant sound of ambulances and NYPD car alarms.
Although the hotel is generally clean, it’s undeniably an old property—let’s call it ”legacy” or ”historical.” The room was spacious, which is a positive by NYC hotel standards.
I rated the service just “1 star” because my interactions with the staff were consistently disappointing—from check-in to check-out and even with baggage storage. It was evident that the staff had a “just doing my job” mindset instead of showing any commitment to excellence or enthusiasm for providing a positive experience.
When I tried to arrange for baggage storage before heading to Boston, the staff at the counter was unyielding, insisting they couldn't accommodate me even with payment. I understood their concerns about limited space, but I was frustrated by their failure to suggest or offer any alternative solutions.
However, I am pleased to say that when I returned from Boston, I was relieved I had chosen to spend the remainder of my NYC trip at Staypineapple!
Given how competitive hotel services are, I appreciate that Staypineapple’s service standards were the complete opposite of THE NEW YORKER.

Pod Times Square is perfect if you are solo, great location, room was basic but clean, cleaned every day, clean towels, hairdryer and tv. My view was of the Hudson River, what's not too like. Walking tours every day if you are interested. Bar facilities, including happy 2 hours and coffee, muffins etc available for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay here and would come back. I stayed in a Queen room which slept two which was fine for me, just be aware if you are sharing as it is small but hey how long are you in your room in NYC.

It is such a good location to help our short trip to New York! The check in check out process was easy and the price is really reasonable. It's close to everything and the breakfast was delicious. It has countless shops and restaurants, also close to multiple subway and bus stops. The room is small but has everything. It is really clean and has everything you need (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, lotions, hair dryer etc). Highly recommend for budget travellers. If you have kids who need space then this is not for you. The aircon is a bit noisy and the next door tenant had a alarm set that also wakes me up. They do have earplugs for you though.

To my surprise, I could see NYE ball drip from my window (from afar). Really pleased having spent 2 nights at this hotel. Excellent location, and I feel safe there. They do provide complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate and snack bar daily from 7-9AM though. which is good enough to me for a light breakfast. The room is clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend play to stay. No complain here.

Decent experience, location was nice. However, the water system was disappointing as water was constantly cloudy even after complaining.
Rooms were very small as well, which is although understandable since it’s manhattan.
Staffs were friendly though, which was nice.

Location of this hotel is excellent, it's very close to Times Square, Madison Garden and the train station. Room was clean, the wallpaper behind the bed was peeling but the rest of the room and bathroom were great. Our AC unit was not working when we first checked in and we did have some difficulty getting someone to fix it. Once we were able to get someone to our room the gentleman fixed it super quickly. They also offer in room dining which is nothing fancy but came to our room very fast. This hotel also offered number of amenities such as an on-site bar and gym but we were not there long enough to explore. I would stay here again if ever in the area.

Counter staff is helpful and fast to assist. Breakfast buffet is decent but there is room for improvement.
Room cleaniness I rate 4/5 as there are small stones on the carpet. Maybe the management can improve in this item.

Although I read some negative reviews online about long elevator wait times and police car noise, I decided to give it a try because of the prime location. After comparing prices on trip.com, I was able to book a hotel at a very good price two weeks before my departure. The hotel as a whole is as fresh as the photos shared by other guests on the Internet. There are about 60 rooms on each floor (based on the room number arrangement along the stairwell), but luckily we didn't hear frequent noise from neighbors or passersby like we would in a hotel in Tokyo. Although you can occasionally hear the sirens of police cars on the street outside, or the noise from watching football games in the restaurant on the 8th floor and the banquet hall below the 7th floor, it is generally very quiet. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The side table of the desk can be pulled out to form a 90-degree angle with the main table, increasing the usable space. The air-conditioning vents are designed next to the window and will not blow directly onto the bed, which I think is very good. You have to pay an additional $40 per day to use it at restaurants or to subscribe to wireless internet in your room (hotels don’t offer free Wi-Fi like in Japan, South Korea or Taiwan). It didn't work at Starbucks or the gift shop so we just had a drink at the 8th floor bar and enjoyed the night view of the Times Square ads. We found vending machine in 7f we can buy drinks and snacks any time.

The room was quite clean and cozy. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You will be able to reach all the major sights in Manhattan easily on foot or by subway (several stations within a 2 minute walk from the hotel). The room had a kitchen with a large refrigerator and necessary cookware. Accommodation for a longer stay. At our request they brought a hot plate (electric) for cooking in the room. There was a coffee making kit, sugar, creamer, small coffee maker. Unfortunately, there was no kettle. We were not disturbed with room cleaning.
Breakfasts were excellent. You can choose what you like: 2 kinds of porridge, sausages or bacon, omelettes, cutlets, pancakes, waffles, muffins, bagels, granola, fruit (apples, bananas, pineapples, melon), spinach. Of the beverages there were 2 kinds of juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Also milk and cream for coffee, jams, honey, portion butter, maple syrup, chocolate for waffles.
There were three of us but the shower set was for one person, extra bedding was not full. There were no toothbrush cups.
We arrived at the hotel early to inquire about early check in and a view room. We were asked to wait 2 hours before check-in time as the high floor room was not ready. But when we arrived on time, the room was still not ready, we were given a room on the 5th floor.
The light in the room is not very convenient. You can't turn on the light locally in the living area, 3 lights in the kitchen above the table, the general light and in the hallway are burning at the same time.

We are a family of three, including children, and for some reason we only got two sets of towels each time.
When I filled the bathtub with hot water, it was muddy, so I felt that the water quality was not as good as in Japan.
Soap bottles installed in the bathroom sometimes do not come out when pushed. However, we had to put up with it because it was fixed to the wall.
There are no toothbrushes, slippers, or kettles in the rooms, so you will need to bring your own.
The refrigerator in the room used to cool well, but every few times, the door would not open even after a strong pull.
The room facilities were not very good, but the location was very good.
There is a CVS, Macy's, 7-Eleven, and Starbucks less than a 5 minute walk away.
Personally, I enjoyed the bakery Tour les jour so much that I highly recommend a visit.
The subway entrance was conveniently located less than a minute's walk from the hotel.

GGuest UserClean, comfortable and good service. The location is close to the subway and is convenient to various attractions. Free drinks are provided at a fixed time in the afternoon. The breakfast is simple but good with hot and cold options.

AAnonymous UserThe rooms are very clean and in a good location.
But, the elevator was very poor. It is impossible to say that the elevator will not stop unless we call the front desk. I was really unhappy about the elevator. Because of it, we had to take the stairs down from the 26th floor to the 1st floor. Elevators should be improved immediately.

JJana (@journeywith_jana)Booked the W because I’m familiar with the brand and it was a good price for the space! My sister and brother ended up staying with myself and my husband - and everyone had more than enough room. It was perfect location, just steps from Times Square and in the middle of all the NYC sights☺️ Views from the 47th floor were insane- my only recommendation to the hotel would be to wash the windows as they were super smudgy. I was only able to take this attached pic when I opened the window a crack. When we are in NYC again, we’ll book the W without a doubt!
