Only stayed the one night in a cottage room with a view of the river. The room and en suite were clean and the bed was really comfy. The food at the restaurant was excellent.

Check inn and Reception Staff excellent very informative and found us a room that was ready as we were a couple of hours early. As per a previous review we decided on a early drink as we had a table booked in the restaurant at 6pm. Ordered a G&T and I ordered a pint of Boddingtons Bitter. This is where it all goes wrong young. Felt for the young girl behind the bar she was clearly out of her depth. We had to ask for Lemon and there was no ice. Bit of a theme here judging by earlier reviews. After pulling the second pint I gave up it looked awful. The restaurant menu was the same as the Bar. We managed to stay in the restaurant for 5 mins there were four or five tables all from the same group of young males all shouting and swearing. My wife is no shrinking violet but she stood up and said “ I think we will leave the children in the playground “ We returned to the bar area and by this time more staff members had come on duty. We were in Holiday mode so we made the best of it. Special praise should go to Corrina I think she was from Rumania. She got a grip of the situation and staff and we managed to get a meal and drinks ‘ As I said look after Corrina she was the only member of staff who had any organisational skills that evening.

My first impression on entering the reception was that the lady checking me in was miserable and snappy, it is only when she noticed my response to this did her demeanour change. I did note this has been mentioned on previous r I was booked into a DELUXE room! There was nothing deluxe about this, on entering the first thing I noticed was the bed had no valance and straight away I noticed stains on the bed base. The full room was unclean and thick dust along the skirtings, especially under the TV turn table, there were drink spillages down the wall and the carpet was un-hoovered and badly stained. The bathroom was unclean and I did find odd the toilet roll holder being on the opposite wall which cant be reached when sat on the toilet! The shower was so unclean I did not want to get in it. The balcony is badly fitted and had a hole in the left corner and rubble. I convinced myself it had simply not been cleaned between guests and requested another room which I got (209) unfortunately this was no better and even had stains on the base sheet and the bottom of the shower base had holes and was in need of repair. No expresso machine as advertised for deluxe rooms. For £120+ I would expect to see a much better standard given I can pay that for a Premiere Inn and get Breakfast & evening meal for that. The only thing I did like was that it had double doors opening onto the balcony where I sat watching the planes coming in. Due to how unclean both the rooms were sadly I did not trust to order the food as my thoughts were if the bedrooms were so unclean what state was the kitchen, so I ordered takeaway. The dining room reminded me of a working mans club The lady getting me the second room was suitably apologetic. The lady getting my drink who checked me in made me feel uncomfortable when I asked to see what wines they had which meant she had to remove the cupboard door. If there was a wine list this would have been avoidable however given I was buying a bottle I would not have expected to be made to feel I was asking too much of her. 1 Needless to say I will not be returning nor recommending to anyone

Brilliant hotel always so nice to stay at. Easy to get to and as I work in transport it’s ideal for me to stay near my work places. The staff are great and always welcoming. The hotel is always clean. I’ve never had a problem at all ever when I have stayed here.
