First things first, They are selling Premium Chalets (upper and lower floor) for same price where upper chalets are AIR CONDITIONED and lower chalets are NON AIR CONDITIONED. They couldn’t explain me the policy of assigning these AC and non AC chalets of SAME price for different guests who booked the same premium chalets category. I had a recommendation from my friend, and they clearly mentioned about A/C and amenities hence we booked the premium chalet for bigger prices however disappointed with the quality of the room and not having AIR CONDITIONED. It’s not the same hill country conditions these days, its challenging to stay indoors without the impact of the heat especially with 2 kids (and most importantly we are on vacation) even at night with the sealed nature of the room and just one ceiling fan (that’s also covered with Bed attached netting). It was difficult to manage sleeping overnight as kids get up from time to time. I have conveyed my disappointment to their manager in reception, he just cover up that with providing some excuses and standing fan. I was even paying extra charge for my 7-year-old kid and this policy makes me disappointed. Hence, if you want AIR CONDITION chalet, ask them specifically to avoid disappointment when booking premium chalets. If you are there to enjoy nature, Castlereigh Reservoir may not be seen as more beautiful from anywhere else, farm resorts provide you with that ultimate and breathtaking view. You can get their free bicycle tour arranged across their estate to enjoy the unique nature of the area. They also offer kayaking rides on a charge. Nothing special to mention about their rooms, as highlighted earlier I was disappointed with the quality, and offering me non AC room for the SAME PREMIUM CHALET price. Dinner and Breakfast served to us are super delicious. Breakfast arranged on their garden and we all absolutely enjoyed everything on that breakfast. Milk Rice, Katta Sambol and Chicken Curry offered to me are simply awesome and every item on English breakfast tastes so great. I may think twice before going to this place with the experience I had, however just check every basic thing with them and plan your vacation, good place to enjoy calm nature.

The view is absolutely stunning. Overlooking the Castlereigh reservoir, Farm Resorts is where you go when you want to completely disconnect and just be mesmerized by nature. We loved the food, our room was super spacious and all the stuff we were able to do like kayaking were really fun. The service was wonderful, and Piyal was fantastic, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Will definitely visit again!

We had a great experience with the Farm Resorts. Staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. Specially our personal butler Sithara. He was great, and always happy to help beyond our expectations. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect & the food was delicious. Its the go-to if anyone wants a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. This was definitely one of the best stays I have ever had.Thank you Farm Resorts ❤️

This hotel boasts an excellent location with a spectacular view of the Castlereigh Reservoir. The spacious room and well-appointed bathroom added to the comfort of our stay. Meals were served à la carte, and we particularly enjoyed having breakfast outdoors, overlooking the reservoir. The kayaking experience in the reservoir was a highlight of our stay. A truly serene retreat.

A little bit of heaven! Arriving at The Farm in Dikoya with the breathtaking location and beautyfull houses right on the banks of the large reservoir, was an experience in it self. Warmly welcomed and serviced to perfection by our "Butler" RAJU. He introduced himself as our butler! During our stay he provided 1 class service, both when he arranged dinner on our terrace, with small candels to create a beautyfull setting, served afternoon tea, in the lovely garden and a wonderfull breakfast. The rooms at The Farm resorts is large, comfortable, lovely decorated, and the balcony overlooking the water, with the tea plantation all around you, was stunning. It could´nt have been more authentic. Raju also took the time to walk us around the teaplantation, while explaining the different types of tea and the whole process. A truely remarkable stay.

We travel a lot. We stay in 5 star hotels unless there is something special about the accommodation. This place stands out as special. The location is its main selling point. The views are spectacular. The only sound is the wildlife or the twice daily ‘sea’ plane that lands a seven minute drive from the bungalow (most convenient way of getting there). This hotel is the view (because it is on the opposite side of the lake) for guests at the Ceylon Tea Trails ‘Hotel’. The staff are very attentive and always accessible so but not over bearing. Genuinely some of the nicest most natural service we have ever experienced. Whether it was late arrivals, early starts or excursions starting at 12.30am the ‘butler’ Raj was always there and happy to help. Faultless attentive to doing everything he could for our stay. The décore is appropriate. It’s perfect tea country Sri Lanka (not UAE/New York City). It’s a holiday home from home. Like all lakeside location’s there are mosquitos and frogs that occasionally find their way into the house. The turndown includes topping up the anti mosquito sockets etc. It is clean. The food is good. It is in keeping with its character; it’s not going to win a star but the lack of pretentiousness added to the home like atmosphere. The air conditioning is the natural breeze and the eucalyptus canopy. We used a fan and slept perfectly; I have had poor nights sleep in many 5* hotels in hot countries. I can’t speak for value as my wife booked this trip so I’m not sure how much it cost. She says it was a step change in difference from the hotel on the opposite bank which was fully booked. In the end she was happier with the stay here. The other ‘exceptional’ (5*) hotels elsewhere in Sri Lanka we stayed in didn’t come close.

A fabulous experience in the cool climates f Sri Lanka. Farm resorts has one of the best views or overlooking the castlereigh reservoir. The food was excellent, second only to the service. Our steward Ravi looked after all of our needs. Thank you farm resorts for a fantastic family holiday. Suren Abeyasekera and Family

I stayed in the lakeside bungalow with my parents and partner. Possibly the most beautiful place in Sri Lanka. We had the best time! The environment was so serene and it was incredible waking up to the Lakeview every morning. Would highly recommend staying here. Special mention to Raju, who provided the best hospitality, and to the chef, who made the most delicious kottu and wattalapam. We can’t wait to stay here again.
