Orlando Northeast Orlando Hotels

I spent two nights at the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando as a result of being mandatorily evacuated due to Hurricane Ian. Most of the other people staying in the hotel were in a similar situation. I felt that the hotel did a good job of dealing with the huge surge of stressed out people. The DoubleTree wasn't our first choice, but when we decided to evacuate to Orlando, many other gulf coast Floridians were making similar choices, and we got turfed to this DoubleTree with a different Hilton property. The location is pretty good. It's close to downtown, close to the Lake Ivanhoe area, and close to I4. There were a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The parking isn't exactly connected to the hotel, which wouldn't be a problem in non-hurricane situations. There was no valet when we arrived. There were staff available to help with bags, etc., although the person was helping the car in front of me, so I unloaded everything myself (which was fine). My parents were able to check in early for both rooms, and from what I observed in the lobby, they had enough staff that no one was waiting for too long for check in. They were definitely well stocked with bottled water and cookies for everyone checking in. We had two connecting rooms so that my parents could help with the kids and we could pool resources. The rooms have refrigerators which are pretty spacious. The rooms were a bit dated, but the beds were reasonably comfortable (although the pillows could have been more supportive), there was a practical set up of seating, and everything looked clean. Because the hotel was booked to full and because the Hurricane was going to go through Orlando as a tropical storm, there was no standard housekeeping available, but you could request new sheets/towels/amenities to be delivered to your room. I spoke with a bartender, and the Hilton had several employees who stayed in the hotel for the duration of the storm warning and storm to make sure that things were running for guests. I very much appreciated that they kept the kitchen (albeit with a very limited menu) and bar (full bar still available) running and that maintenance was available the whole time. While I didn't love the limited menu at the restaurant, at least we had the option of hot food! The hotel is on the same power grid at the local hospital, so we never lost power. The cable flickered a bit once the winds became strong. The window in my parents' room did spring a leak during the storm, but thankfully the amount of water that came in was manageable with a couple towels. The downstairs cafe and lobby became very waterlogged during the storm. But from a safety perspective, we all came through the storm. And when we elected to check out after two nights instead of the three we booked, the hotel graciously didn't charge us for the final night.

The welcome was very warm and pleasant. My room was amazingly comfortable. Very clean and great location. I was there visiting my big sister and going to a conference. Will definitely be back great job to the entire team. Great job to the GM your training shows throughout your property

Hanging out in the Downtown area this weekend? The Residence Inn is where to stay so you can enjoy the gastronomy of Downtown Orlando in a peaceful and well-managed hotel. The Residence Inn is just minutes from everything in Orlando Downtown area. The front desk greets you very nicely when you arrive and all their personnel do the same during your stay. The parking garage is spacious and has access to the hotel on each of its three floors. Its location is just perfect. I really loved the size of the rooms, the kitchen, their spacious wellness center, and the enclosed always-warm pool. If you want to enjoy a play at the Dr. Phillips Performing Art, a game at the Amway Center, or just enjoy one of the more than 100 restaurants and bars in the area, this is your place to stay.

Being in the hospitality business there is nothing more that I love then having great customer service. It reminds me how important it is to make people feel welcomed and attended to. From the guest service to the amazing food !! Leo took great care of us at check in and Venessa at the restaurant wrapped it up for us!!! Her food was amazing and she took the time to make sure our service was good.

This is a nice hotel. It’s new, it’s fresh and modern. It is on the top floors of the Truist building. As others stated, the elevator can be slow at times, so be mindful of that and be patient. The noise from the highway wasn’t too bad, but there is a train that runs right next to the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, this could be problematic. BUT, they give you earplugs. The Sky Bar seems to be the highlight of the hotel. There are lots of non hotel guests visiting the Sky Bar to enjoy the view and cocktails. Although the Sky Bar is a nice vibe, the servers (in the lounge areas) were not attentive at all! I sat outside on the terrace for at least 45 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. I had to actually flag over a server once I saw that she served a few others who had arrived after I sat down. This happened again the second time that I visited the Sky Bar (sitting in the lounge area). There were not a lot of people there during the day, so they clearly saw me sitting! Seriously…? On a positive note, I later sat at the “interior” bar and Nate, was a joy! He was super attentive, and ensured that my time spent at the bar was special.

Excellent Location, Neat n clean place, room was spacious, front facing, pantry was very well equipped with gazettes, temperature controlled pool, good gym, washing machine and dryer available at a very nominal charge. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly! We were here on business and the front desk staff pointed us in the direction of several different resturants to choose. The rooms we very clean and all them amenities were well stocked.

Nathaly was the best customer service representative I have ran into in a long time and I travel for work. She was outstanding and paid great attention to detail. Great asset to the Marriott brand! Overall the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The room was spotless, very modern, everything I needed was there. Valet was on point as well. Very professional and personable team. We have seen this hotel for a long time now and always were enamored by the outside and kind of the grandeur of it. We had a show at the arena and from past experience, had no interest and trying to drive out of there. Thought we would bite the bullet and check this cool place out. We also made a dinner reservation at the restaurant, which is highly decorated. Turns out, they are doing some heavy remodeling of various parts of the place. We had no interest in a prefix menu in the part of the restaurant that was open. We did ask if they had a bar and we were directed to the ”sky bar” on the 15th floor. Of course, when you hear ”sky bar” on the 15th floor you think of amazing views and a bad ass bar over looking the city. WRONG. It is simply the ”concierge bar/room” for Marriott point holders. Which is far from some decadent sky lounge you think of in a hotel like this in downtown Orlando. Kind of dirty, very loud, very bright and old small bar with tables of people in shorts and t shirts eating discount apps. Far from what you would expect given the name. We walked in and right back out. The rooms themselves are very basic. Nothing to get excited about. At the end of the day, I would consider it over priced but I guess you are paying to be down town. We likely will not be coming back.
