AAnonymous UserThis is my second time visiting Xinjiang, and I chose to stay here again. The service is absolutely top-notch! It's not the cold, trained politeness you find in five-star hotels; all the staff here radiate a genuine warmth that makes you feel incredibly comfortable. **Service:** No matter how late it was, the front desk and the security guards at the door were always so welcoming, greeting me warmly and proactively helping with my luggage. Plus, they offer a special nightly foot bath service, which is incredibly thoughtful. **Minibar:** There's even a little card on the table reminding guests to help themselves – they practically insist you eat and drink! 😂 The breakfast is also very rich, with a great variety of vegetables.

GGirls who travelHotel was very clean and nice. The amenities were wonderful, we enjoyed the gym and the buffet breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip to China. The location was close to CC mall, however as described in the description we thought it would be closer. It was also far from other things to see in Urumqi, and needed to get didi everywhere. The room was not cleaned each day, and seemed to be difficult to get our room cleaned daily. Other than that, it was a good stay and comfortable hotel.

The off-season price was great, and I got a free room upgrade, but I also encountered power outages, stuffiness, and poor soundproofing. Here’s an honest breakdown of the pros and cons 👇 📍 Location: Convenient for getting anywhere • Jinquan Shopping Mall – 5-10 minute walk (the basement is fantastic for browsing, handicrafts are cheap) • International Grand Bazaar – 15-25 minute walk • Hetian Erjie (Second Street) – 20-30 minute walk (a foodie paradise) • Small market behind the hotel – downstairs; offers grilled skewers, grilled eggs, and fruit at night, full of local life • Taxis – starting fare 8-12 yuan, plenty of empty cabs during off-season, easy to get around 🏨 Stay Experience Price: Super affordable during the off-season (March), nearly half the price of peak season. Room Upgrade: The front desk proactively upgraded my room, which significantly enhanced my stay 👍 Power Outage: The entire street experienced a power outage on the first night, not the hotel's fault. Recovery was quick during the off-season. Front Desk Service: You can store luggage, making it convenient to explore the Grand Bazaar after check-out. Decor Style: Very satisfied! A ”secret realm” vibe, dark tones with warm lighting, high quality, and great for photos 📸 ⚠️ Two Minor Issues Underfloor Heating Too Hot: Staying in March, it was so stuffy at night that I sweated and woke up several times due to the heat. Average Soundproofing: I could hear people talking in the hallway and doors opening/closing next door. It wasn't too bad since there were few guests during the off-season, but I'd recommend earplugs for sensitive sleepers. 🍜 Nearby Food • Hetian Erjie: Ailijiang Hetian Nankeng Rou, Kashi Yiba Zhua • Small market behind the hotel: Downstairs, offers grilled skewers, baked buns, cheaper than the Grand Bazaar. • Near Jinquan Shopping Mall: Local breakfast spots, beef noodles, milk tea. 🚕 Transportation • Airport: Taxi 60-70 yuan, 40 minutes • Train Station: Taxi 15-20 yuan, 15 minutes • Within the city: Generally 8-15 yuan ✅ Who it's suitable for Suitable for: Off-season travelers, those seeking good value, wanting to explore the Grand Bazaar and Hetian Erjie, and those who appreciate hotels with a stylish design. Not suitable for: Those with extremely high demands for soundproofing or who are sensitive to room temperature while sleeping. 💡 Check-in Tips 1. Bring earplugs as a backup. 2. Spend half a day exploring the basement of Jinquan Shopping Mall. 3. Don't miss the small market behind the hotel at night. 4. Store your luggage after check-out, then pick it up after you're done sightseeing. 5. If staying in winter, bring a short-sleeved shirt in case it gets too hot, so you have something to change into. 6. Bring a humidifier; it's very dry. The hotel has them, but I didn't use theirs. ✅ Overall Review Flora isn't a perfect hotel – it had power outages, stuffiness, and soundproofing issues. However, its location, price, and decor style are truly a rare find in Urumqi city center. In March during the off-season, two nights with a free room upgrade, I was very satisfied. I would choose it again next time, just remember to bring a short-sleeved shirt 😅 “The off-season surprises are hidden in those minor flaws.” 🌙

AAussie NikThis hotel is top quality. Worthy of 5 star standard. Just built in 2024, everything was brand new. Front desk receptionists were all so professional and hospitable. We felt so at home and comfortable that we stayed for 6nights. We were offered an abundant breakfast, evening tea and late supper. We had 70 inch tv with movie channels. There is a complementary laundry room. The Japanese style toilet was a bonus. Bus stop is across the road. Walking distance to Hong Shan Park, Peoples Park, Xinjiang Museum and Saybad Shopping district. Highly recommend any visitors to Urumqi to this wonderful hotel.

GGuest UserI stayed here with my family while visiting the hospital nearby. The location was very convenient, and the room was spacious enough for my child to play around. The hygiene was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very patient when we had to switch rooms twice because of my child. We stayed for 4 days, and they even gave us a discount and complimentary breakfast for the little one! It was a very satisfying stay! We'll definitely come back.

GGuest UserThe service was truly exceptional. I had an early flight and asked the front desk if I could check in early, which they happily arranged. They even upgraded my room for free, which I really appreciated. The front desk also had complimentary bottled water and fruit, a very thoughtful touch. They even gave me a free breakfast, which was also fantastic with a great variety and delicious food. Overall, it was an incredibly good experience. The front desk staff and security guards were all very friendly. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Xinjiang. It's also close to the metro station and has plenty of restaurants nearby.

GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport. The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you. Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift. (Check the other reviews here, for a picture of the gate/door to the building) The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful. They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software. Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact. (This is a CN Govt requirement) The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views. There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one. The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night. The beds are OK. There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too! The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located, except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms. Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.
