"I drove my mother there. The hotel is relatively old, but it has the flavor of the Showa era. You have to put away your slippers when you enter. No dirt is allowed in the hotel. The large bath is outside the hotel and is relatively spacious. There is no breakfast and dinner service outside holidays, but it is understandable, after all, there are not many local tourists."

"It is a hotel with a historical atmosphere. If you are good at English and Japanese, you will experience more. It is very close to the Shinkyo Bridge. The hotel service responded promptly and the attitude was good. The well-received Western food is really good. The marbled steak tastes amazing. The Japanese red trout is not impressive at first, but I actually like it haha. In short, both sets are quite satisfactory. The breakfast is a simple carbohydrate satisfaction, and the butter is good. I give satisfaction points for both meals. The deluxe room is large and the equipment is relatively new. The bedding is soft and thick. There is no dissatisfaction with other things such as bathroom hot water, toiletries, air conditioning temperature, room odor, etc. I left the hotel to play and stored the gift. When I returned, I asked the hotel to help call a taxi. Due to the evening rush hour, I didn’t make an appointment for the car, but the hotel waiter kept trying to make a call. In the end, he was very sorry and gave the taxi company card for our subsequent use. In short, it is a recommended hotel to stay in Nikko."

"The hotel located in the next station from kinugawa onsen. I have booked one night here. The hotel provided japanese gown in room for yukata to all guests. Badly they provide male apparel for us. The staff who saw always gossip very bad experience. However, Staff at breakfast floor is very nice. He can't speak English but I feel his kindness."

"A traditional Japanese hot spring hotel located next to Kamibashi. I stayed with 11 friends, and the hotel provided a banquet hall for us to have dinner and breakfast; everyone felt at home. The quality of the food was very good, but the chestnut rice for dinner was disappointing. The autumn maple scenery on the inclined road between Kamibashi and the hotel in the early morning is very beautiful."

"I took a taxi from Kinugawa Onsen Station to go to the hotel, but just take the bus. It's quick, cheap, and good. The hotel service was good. The guide was friendly, and the fact that it's a key, not a card key, is heavy, but it's also good because it's hard to lose. The hotel facilities have a retro feel, but I didn't feel old. It feels like a restored classic car. Dinner is divided into two parts: the first half and the second half. At first, everyone goes to Honmaguro and Daege, but you can take something else at that time. In the end, everything is gone, so you can take your time. The ice cream was Haagen-Dazs, which is a three-course meal, but I only had one because I was feeding the baby. There are three hot springs, including an open-air bath and two large baths, but the basement floor of the annex building was nice because there were fewer people. There were many types of shampoos available on the market, so it was easy to use. There were also Japanese brands of hair dryers, such as Lipa, Panasonic, and Dyson. There were also baby chairs for easy washing of babies, and a baby bed where you could put your baby while drying your hair, so it was easy to prepare for leaving the baby. The breakfast was also great, with unlimited salmon roe and a variety of breads. I was satisfied and plan to visit again when my second child is born. It was a resort where I could feel the bubble era."

"The hotel was great and had good food (buffet style) and service. The views of the bridge and kinugawa river across the hotel was nice, and we enjoyed fireworks on Saturday night. It might be better to drive, since the hotel was located about a 10-15 minute walk away from Kinugawaonsen station in a quiet town, and is about 1 hour away by public transport from Tobu-nikko station where many attractions can be accessed."

Hotels in Nikko
Grand opening in 2022. The first 16-room resort lifestyle hotel in Nikko's 1,300-year history. "This is the real Nikko." A lounge service that allows you to experience nature as if it were a painting or a work of art, and promises a fulfilling hotel stay. A haven (SHELTER) in nature, protected from the modern society of convenience, efficiency, and the rush for time. The hotel is not made to be perfect, and the resulting misalignments and distortions lead to the warmth and sense of security that comes from touching natural materials. It is a travel destination where you can encounter new values, such as "reexamining our everyday lives that have become more convenient."

"Most tourists who go to Nikko either come back and forth on the same day or stay in a hot spring hotel. If you have had enough of hot springs, then try this one. It is definitely a rare designer hotel in Japan, very special! Unlike the Ritz by Lake Chuzenji, where there are many tourists outside the window, here you live in a natural park, and there are only continuous mountains, green trees, waterfalls and streams outside the window. It is so beautiful and quiet. The dinner is Michelin-level French food, exquisite and delicious, and the wine selection is also good. It is strongly recommended to include a meal. It is very close to the train station, and it takes less than ten minutes to get there by taxi for 1,600 yen. The hotel has three free shuttle buses to the station in the morning. The employees have multiple roles. The designer is also the owner, the restaurant DJ, the waiter, and the driver. If there is anything, everyone shares it together. Whoever is free will do it. This kind of team feeling is very good. There is also a resident painter. You eat here and he paints there. He creates a work every night. It's wonderful."

"A premium hotel & hotspring in kinugagawa onsen, this hotel also is famous all over japan, because of superb hotspring creation made by a big rock, very new & romantic interior design especially in the lobby,w/ an luxurios chandelier, the outside view is amazing, the famous fureai bridge in kinugawa & river is in the front ,very nice autumn view outside, the room is big,but don't have a telephone & dresser, the food is superb but if you want to drink alcohol, you need to reserve from the front desk during check-in.Intagramable view inside & outside, but don't go here by walking with baggage because of the high stairs in fureai bridge, there's a shuttle bus but you need to pay 300yen.Overall,you can feel the scenic views even you don't go outside,Thanks always Trip.com for very nice booking, more power & God bless always"

"The same English-speaking staff was at the front desk and breakfast and dinner, so communication was smooth even if you didn't speak Japanese. The hotel facilities are old, but they are spotlessly clean. The tatami and duvets are very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast and dinner are also very rich, and the price-performance ratio of this price range hot spring hotel is unbeatable. It takes only 5 minutes to walk to the edge of the canyon and the upper reaches of the Kinu River, where I saw a little bit of cherry blossoms."

Amazing
PPetrCool and high-class ryokan hotel. Optimal location for exploring Nikko and surrounding attractions, excellent service, clean and cool onsen with a variety of creams, which can be bought right there in the souvenir shop. Great and varied dinner and breakfast, inexpensive drinks. We stayed for 2 days and 4 meals were different on the menu. It was nice to receive gift coupons for souvenirs and alcohol at the hotel. View of the mountain river right from the room. Girls can choose a yukata of the color they like for their stay in the ryokan. It's cool that for the entire stay in the ryokan you are assigned one maid who feeds you and sees you off and helps deliver your luggage - you feel like you are visiting friends. The staff is great - very attentive, but not intrusive. The downsides are the slightly tired room, but not lacking traditional chic, old curtains, cold light in the room (personally not very pleasant for me, I would advise the hotel to think about replacing the lamps with 3000 Kelvin). I highly recommend the ryokan, the guys are trying.

AAnonymous UserFirst of all, let me praise the hotel's service. It is simply a model. You can experience 100% care, 100% seriousness, and 100% diligence. In addition to meeting the various requirements of guests, a tip is that when you arrive at Kinugawa Onsen Station, you don’t need to take a ride. Let the hotel know in advance and the hotel will send a car to pick you up at the station. Of course, it will also be delivered to the station. In fact, the station is not far from the hotel, only a few hundred meters, and it is quite fast to walk there. The restaurant's food quality is good, whether for breakfast or dinner, it is worthy of praise. Sometimes the restaurant is full of customers and the three waitresses keep running around. It’s so hard. The hot spring water is so hot that I'll be sweating after a while. The room is large in size and the facilities are average. Because the price is not expensive, there are so many guests here that it is always full. Yes, a good hotel will naturally attract more people.

GGuest UserThe impressions are the most rosy. About the pros: 1. The hotel looks well-kept and new. The room is large, with a balcony, toilet with shower, there is a mini-bar, tea accessories, pajamas, yukatas, everything is in place. Small gifts. Everything was very nice. There is a coffee machine in the lobby area, you can take books to read, there is a souvenir shop. 2. Warm attitude during the serving of food, especially during dinner. The taste of the food and the quality for me were excellent. As a foreigner unfamiliar with the traditions of the cuisine, we are grateful for the opportunity to touch the culinary microclimate of the region. Although I understand that my opinion cannot be considered expert. 3. A good area with onsen. There is an indoor pool and rotenburo, there is no need to bring towels from the room. There is a small common lounge area with drinks and ice cream. Minor minuses: 1. If you go to the hotel by taxi, it takes you to a gravel path, and then you calmly get there by walking a little to the official entrance of the hotel. But if you walk, and it's about 20 minutes from the station, then knowing that you went through a more convenient service entrance, the detour to the main entrance will seem strange, although in the end it has its own charm. 2. The service at the entrance to the hotel seems a little blurry. Especially after the service in the same restaurant. But we arrived late in the evening, so it is likely that everyone was just tired by the time we arrived. 3. The hotel held a lecture on our evening, but it was in Japanese. Although I do not see a mechanism by which it could be made more accessible. Hiring a translator who would translate into English for a couple of foreigners is strange. Conducting it in English when most of the guests were Japanese is wrong. The hotel is not cheap, but I think it is worth the money. I highly recommend it.

CcckentThe hotel is great! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with many facilities like karaoke, a game center, and more. I visited with my family, a total of 14 people, and they were able to arrange a private room for us for both dinner and breakfast. Both meals were buffet-style and absolutely delicious. The onsen experience was wonderful, and the view from the onsen was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the Kinugawa River. However, there was one issue: when we checked in, the reception took our passports for photocopying. Unfortunately, they missed returning one of the passports to us. It wasn’t until after we checked out and reached our next stop that we realized one passport was missing. We had to go back to the hotel to take it. Despite this, the overall experience was great, and I would still recommend the hotel.

HHoSVery old school ryokan run by very friendly who has been working there for many years. Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace. Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable. Do ask for any room facing the back of the ryokan and avoid those facing the front where you only see car parks with coaches coming in the morning bringing tourists to the shrines. The onsite Onsen for ryokan guests, breakfasts and dinners are the highlights. You’d love the traditional Japanese meals served there and you won’t be hungry. Would I come back to this ryokan again? Yes definitely due to its location and friendly staff.

GGuest UserMany things were great about this hotel - I stayed in the dorm for 10 nights and you're basically getting hotel level service and amenities for dorm price, very value for money. New towels provided everyday, library and lounge were great (free alcohol and snacks, plus lovely hammocks and view of the lake), onsen was a good size with indoor and outdoor pools. The one thing I didn't like was the material they used to construct the dorm capsules - thin wood that was very hollow, resulting in a deafening amplification of sound whenever your neighbours moved around you. If you're a light sleeper you might want to reconsider. But otherwise, it was awesome, I would go back again!

GGuest UserThe second time I stayed here, the first time I stayed in a Western-style room. The room was large and very new. The second time I brought my parents to stay, I chose a traditional Japanese-style room. When I opened the window, I could see the snow-capped mountains and mountains. The attitude of the service staff is very good and the experience is very good. Staff will take the initiative to help make the bed at night. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good, each restaurant has a fixed location, and dinner and breakfast are prepared in advance. However, the included meals are vegetarian by default. If you want to change meat, remember to tell customer service in advance.

Walk to 7-Eleven nearby is not too long, lots of kitchenware, suitable for families or stay for several days, very suitable for people who use cars because there is a lot of parking space.
