It is a Hilton, but not as nice as others you may have experienced because it is seriously dated. For starters, just let me say we had a fine time, but we had to acclimate to the reality of the claim that the hotel was conveniently right between two metro stops - it really isn't. You can walk to the Dupont Circle with little to no trouble, but walking back is up hill all the way which could cause trouble for some. Second, the room is really small and had a very old beat up stand alone refrigerator that I think I had in my dorm in the 80s that was set up on the floor next to the dresser. Frankly they should have been ashamed to have that in a Hilton room. The cleaning staff was really nice and helpful and could teach a thing or two to the staff of the ”Starbucks” which was not at all a Starbucks - it was a Hilton cofee stand that served Starbucks. There is no reason to not stay here if you get a good rate, but just don't expect too much.

The room didn't have a bathtub.
The room was big and seemed clean.
I wish they'd give us more stuff. There wasn't even a bottle of water (wonder if that's how it is everywhere in the US?)
The lights were kinda dim at night, and it could use some more.
The breakfast was yummy!
I love that there were convenient stores like Walgreens and CVS very close by, and they're open until 11 pm.

Novax2 bedrooms and 1 living room. There are 2 large beds in the room. The sofa in the living room can be unfolded into a large bed. There is a mattress, but it is soft, so it is suitable for children. It is difficult to sleep with one big and one small. Turning over will make a creaking sound, so it is most suitable for big children who sleep soundly, so as not to affect the quality of sleep. There are 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, but there is no supermarket nearby, so buying ingredients is a problem. The hotel can buy them for you and charges a 30-dollar courier fee. There is a small supermarket in the hotel where you can buy snacks and water. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages, oatmeal and other hot foods, and drinks are all iced. Self-service coffee, hot water is provided in the self-service coffee area. The hotel has free water filling equipment, so bottled water is not provided. It will change slightly every day. The hotel parking fee is about 53 dollars. There are many parking lots around, but it is also quite expensive (I don’t remember the specific price). You can take the subway Silver Line to Dulles Airport, which is 6.75 one-way plus 2 yuan card fee. It takes about 1 hour to get to the airport. Walk to the national mall area, about 10-15 minutes walk

Guest UserMy wife, our 5-year-old son, and I recently spent 3 lovely nights at Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Embassy Row during our family trip to the nation’s capital, and it turned out to be the ideal choice for our little family of three. Located in the charming Embassy Row neighborhood, the hotel’s location is truly unbeatable—just a 10-minute walk to Farragut North Metro Station, allowing us to easily reach iconic spots like the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and the White House, which were perfect for our curious 5-year-old.
We booked a deluxe room with two queen beds, which was spacious and comfortable for the three of us. The room was impeccably clean, with bright, modern decor and soft lighting that made it feel warm and welcoming after long days of sightseeing. The plush beds ensured we all slept well, and the blackout curtains were a lifesaver for our son, who tends to wake up early with sunlight. There were plenty of USB charging ports and free Wi-Fi, which kept our son entertained with his tablet during downtime, and the room had enough space for him to play a little without feeling cramped.
What impressed us most was how family-friendly the hotel was, especially for a young child. The staff was incredibly warm and patient; they greeted our son by name after the first day and even gave him a small toy as a welcome gift, which made him feel so special. There were also convenient coffee stations in the lobby, perfect for a quick pick-me-up before we headed out to explore the city with our little one.
The complimentary Canopy bikes were a fun activity for our family—our son loved riding in the child seat while my wife and I cycled around the quiet, tree-lined streets of Embassy Row. The concierge was also very helpful, recommending family-friendly restaurants nearby and helping us plan our itinerary to avoid crowds at the museums, which made our trip much smoother.
Overall, our stay was wonderful. The hotel’s prime location, comfortable accommodations, and thoughtful, family-focused service made our DC trip unforgettable. We highly recommend Canopy by Hilton Embassy Row to any family traveling with a young child—we couldn’t have asked for a better home base. We will definitely return on our next family trip to Washington DC.

The hotel is not your typical dimension but it was clean and the mattress + pillows are one of the best I have slept on. The location was good as it was close to Metro, White House, Lincoln memorial, and Georgetown (walking around 20 mins). There is also a Metro station close by. However, it’s far away from the convention center though, you will need to take a taxi or Uber to get there.
The one suggestion I have is to provide kettle for hot water in the room as well as bottle waters. Most of the reception reps are very helpful and cheerful, only the grave yard shift reception lady is not in a good mood (I know it’s grave yard shift…but). The elevator needs some improvement as well since it’s very slow… (I’m not sure it’s because of the elevator manufacturer or because of the old building).

I booked a king-sized room through Ctrip, and the reservation explicitly stated a 1.81-meter king bed. However, upon check-in, we were assigned a room with a bed less than 1.5 meters. After staying one night, we requested a room change, but the hotel insisted that this *was* their 'king-sized room'. Following Ctrip's intervention, we were required to pay an additional fee to upgrade our room, which Ctrip later refunded. When Ctrip contacted the hotel, the hotel's response was, 'We made no mistake! This is precisely the room type that was booked.' At this point, I'm unsure whether the hotel is being dishonest or if Ctrip is involved in deceptive practices. Regardless, I will never stay at this hotel again. A 'king-sized' room with a bed less than 1.5 meters is absolutely unheard of in North America! Furthermore, it remains to be seen whether Ctrip was genuinely misled or if they are themselves deceiving customers.

Anonymous UserThe TV had no signal, and after trying various methods, I gave up. The room door needed to be closed gently to avoid making a loud noise. The toilet flushing was mediocre, and the amenities seemed cheaply made. Most importantly, the room was filled with a pungent, overpowering smell of newly renovated furniture; it was very irritating and made my throat very sore. I suggest the hotel remove the smell (I'm not sure if it's formaldehyde). This is the first time I've experienced such a throat irritation in a new hotel.

Guest UserAbsolutely loved staying at the Churchill Hotel! It is in a beautiful neighborhood. Close to DuPont Circle and the Metro. Very safe neighborhood. There is a separate area in the room with a desk. Actually, large enough to use as a dressing room! We will definitely be going back and staying at the Churchill.

This hotel offers great value for money. The spaciousness makes it feel comfortable, and the small kitchen made it convenient to bring in outside food. It was relatively quiet during bedtime, and they even let me leave my luggage before check-in, which was nice. The location is also close to the subway station, and there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
