GGuest UserIt is a Hilton, but not as nice as others you may have experienced because it is seriously dated. For starters, just let me say we had a fine time, but we had to acclimate to the reality of the claim that the hotel was conveniently right between two metro stops - it really isn't. You can walk to the Dupont Circle with little to no trouble, but walking back is up hill all the way which could cause trouble for some. Second, the room is really small and had a very old beat up stand alone refrigerator that I think I had in my dorm in the 80s that was set up on the floor next to the dresser. Frankly they should have been ashamed to have that in a Hilton room. The cleaning staff was really nice and helpful and could teach a thing or two to the staff of the ”Starbucks” which was not at all a Starbucks - it was a Hilton cofee stand that served Starbucks. There is no reason to not stay here if you get a good rate, but just don't expect too much.

GGuest UserMixed feelings. The hotel is well located, with Washington Union Station nearby. The rooms are average; they’re clean, but a bit outdated and musty. The reception staff looked tired and unbothered. The hotel seems to operate only under daily timings; I was not able to get cleaning later on the day. The safe was not working and I had to wait until the next day for someone to come check it, same case for broken light in the bathroom. The fitness is well equipped. The hotel was not able to accommodate my request to cancel the last night, even though I was moving to another Hilton. Not necessarily the kind of service you’d expect from them. Amenities were available upon request, there’s a mini fridge in the room. There was no kettle available. Overall, for the price, you can get better in Washington DC.

GGuest UserThe room was compact and small, but the cleanliness was good. There was plenty of convenient public space. The design style was modern, and the location was decent, about a 20-minute walk from Union Station and 35 minutes from attractions like the Parliament Buildings. A major drawback was the absence of cups for water, drinking water, and tooth-brushing. The room was also quite cold, with the heating only going up to 24 degrees Celsius, and the duvet was too thin. I asked the front desk for a heater, but it was still cold, so I ended up sleeping in a thick tracksuit all three nights. Additionally, the shower stall had no handrails, making it unfriendly for older guests. All controls being on an iPad was also inconvenient.

GGuest UserThe decoration looks like an old-fashioned hotel, so the facilities are a little bit worse. But the room is big enough, the health is good, there is a coffee machine, and the customer service staff are also very polite. It takes about ten minutes to get to the station.

AAnonymous UserThe TV had no signal, and after trying various methods, I gave up. The room door needed to be closed gently to avoid making a loud noise. The toilet flushing was mediocre, and the amenities seemed cheaply made. Most importantly, the room was filled with a pungent, overpowering smell of newly renovated furniture; it was very irritating and made my throat very sore. I suggest the hotel remove the smell (I'm not sure if it's formaldehyde). This is the first time I've experienced such a throat irritation in a new hotel.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Marriott Marquis Washington for four nights and found it to be a traditional, full-service hotel offering a fairly standard experience. While the overall stay was comfortable, there were a few aspects worth noting. Service: I requested a blanket and a kettle, and while the items were eventually delivered, it took nearly an hour, which felt a bit slow for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast: One of the highlights of my stay. The breakfast was varied and flavorful, with plenty of choices to satisfy different tastes. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy a hearty start to your day. Value: The hotel leans on the pricier side, especially when factoring in the additional costs for services. The service was decent, but it didn’t quite match the premium pricing. Overall, the Marriott Marquis delivers a solid, if conventional, stay. It’s ideal for travelers who value a central location and a broad range of breakfast options, but may not impress those expecting standout service.

GGuest UserThis is a business hotel located in an excellent location in DC. It is close to major attractions like the capitol and Smithsonian museums (15-20min walk at max). There is also a bus stop nearby to access the city center, and the Union Station metro is an 8min walk away. Food wise there are not many options nearby but the city center is about 15 minutes by bus. The hotel is clean, rooms are serviced daily, and there is free water and coffee. The room is nice and clean, the only minor issue is a slightly low water pressure. The main issue with this place are the meal credits - although the booking says that breakfast is included, what you actually get is $10 in meal discounts per day - there is a breakfast buffet and the place converts into a restaurant for lunch and dinner. You can't stack these discounts (i.e. if you did not eat any meals at the hotel today, you have forfeited the discount and cannot push any discount to tomorrow). The breakfast buffet is over $20 before tip (additional cost if you order eggs, which somehow are not in the buffet spread), and a lunch/dinner entree is somewhere between $20 and $30. In essence this forces you to eat at the hotel for a discount but you will still end up paying additional. Other than this rather confusing meal scheme, would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in DC for the first time.

GGuest UserI did not have the pleasure of using the facilities however, I must commend the staff for always being helpful and friendly throughout my stay. I would recommend that the staff be advised on a contingency plan or when there are power cuts in the area to mitigate any discomfort and inconvenience experienced by guests. Unfortunately during my stay at the hotel, the power went out from 4am till the time I checked out at 2pm. It would have been a nice gesture to offer bottled water, discounted rates, coupons or some type of assistance to the guests who were at the hotel to ameliorate the unpleasant situation of being without power for such a long time. Other than that, I think the hotel is in a good location and is easily accessible depending on your needs in DC.

IIainThis was such a great discovery. Within easy walking distance of Union Station and Capitol Hill, I arrived after midnight, but the 24 hour concierge was on hand to welcome me, and quickly assist when I realised I was missing an email with door entry codes (resolved with one phone call to a 24/7 support line.) The suite itself was vast, light and airy, spotlessly clean and well equipped with mostly brand new cooking utensils, silverware, etc. All you could need from the kitchen, and a relaxing lounge area. The roof of the building boasts a pool large enough to do lengths, and the gym, shared with the Marriott Hotel next door was enormous, and well equipped with fully functioning equipment - rarely occupied by more that 6-8 others when I used it. Several local supermarkets are within 5 mins walk, and the receptionist was more than happy to let me leave my bag for the day after checkout and work from their relaxing lobby space.
