"Great stay, very friendly family.
Location: although not super close to cable car station, its a nice quartier to walk around (restaurants, little stores, fruit stalls), theres a big stone in front of it.
Room: spacious, low light, big window, no smell, good bed, clean. Ask for high floor or front building room to avoid restaurant smell from the street.
They can gently help you to purchase tickets for attractions at good price. Use phone translator."

"If you are looking for a mountain vibe, peaceful, away from city and homey experience, this is the hotel for you! The mountain view is unbeatable and it’s so majestic. We have nothing but compliments about our room which can even house 3pax, having a bathtub and sauna to sooth our muscle after a day out were refreshing for us. Another highlight is how delicious the restaurant food is and we couldn’t resist eating the same dish (香芋扣肉) for 3 meals in a row. I am so glad to have booked one more night with this homestay just so that we can chill around the hotel with a tea ceremony with 毛管家 before heading out for our train ride home. Don’t be deterred by its mountainous location, it is only 5min away from the ZJJ forest park attraction entrance and the whole experience be it hardware or software with the homestay are so worth it! Ended my ZJJ tour on such a high note! Me and my parents (both in 70s) love it so much!"

The hotel features smart technology that makes everything so convenient, from keyless room entry to controlling the lighting and temperature with just a few taps on your phone. It's a perfect blend of modern comfort and innovation.
The entire hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome and well cared for. One of the highlights for tea lovers is the traditional tea service, offered free of charge—such a lovely touch.
The hotel also boasts a stunning rooftop garden, which quickly became one of our favorite spots. We enjoyed relaxing there in the evenings with a cup of tea and some light snacks, taking in the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful view.

"dan dan, our advisor/ receptionist during our stay was extremely hospitable. she picked us up and dropped us at the airport.
apart from that, they have wechat which allows the staff to connect with you quickly if you have any issues or enquiry during your stay.
she mapped out our zhang jia jie trip since we only planned to do a day just so it’s worth it for us and for us a really good price as compared to other platforms.
since we checked out early, we left our luggage at the receptionist and came back from ZJJ to take a quick shower - she was really nice to offer that. on top of that, they have laundry room w washing machine and a dryer too! (and free laundry detergent)
the breakfast was average though. other than that, it’s all good! would 10/10 come back again"

"The hotel manager is really nice, she even gave a complementary bag for our trip… she is really nice. Hotel wise… the room was good size and clean, the bathroom just need a very good deep cleaning, from to top to the bottom. The hotel reception and restaurant area need a very good make up and organization. Breakfast need a little bit more. Location is nice and good, but also weird. The hotel has a lot of potential, but it needs a very good make up."

"A great stay for the price point!
Pros:
The inn is very convenient foreigners as the receptionist speaks fluent English. They can help to book attraction tickets (at a small discount) and can help to plan or recommend routes that are suitable for you. They can also arrange to send your luggage to the train station if needed (own expense). They reply quickly via WeChat to any questions you may have, so that was convenient.
For travellers who are coming from the High Speed Rail Station, the inn is located down the road to a bus station with buses that connect to the airport, zhangjiajie city, and the train stations. Talking the bus is much cheaper than getting a taxi since the Wulingyuan area is a 30minute drive from the high speed rail station (zhangjiajie west station). There are also many eateries within the vicinity of the inn. True to the description, the inn is a 10 minute walk to the entrance of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (east gate).
Amenities provided in the room are true to the description. An additional surprise is the bed heating function. It made the bed extra cozy during the cold months.
Cons:
The inn does not have a lift, so it might not be suitable for those with mobility problems. While there’s a washing machine, there is no dryer (there is a clothes drying region to air dry your clothes)."

"This place was incredible, for the price I still can’t understand how they can offer such a beautiful building and such fantastic service. Wendy in particular stood out, nothing was too much to ask. Highly recommend adding Wendy on WhatsApp so that you can talk to her as needed. She truly goes above and beyond.
Place is so beautiful, if you told me it used to be a place I would believe you. Recommend the private driver service they offer, it was much cheaper than the DIDIs."

我願稱之為此次湖南之行性價比最高的民宿。床墊和被子超級舒服！房間提供咖啡，一次性眼罩，莓茶（都可以帶走），另外給泡腳桶一個大大的好評（誰懂啊，走了一天路，爬了一天山，回到家熱熱的水泡個腳的感覺啊！）另外，小狗大黃一衹，小貓小白一衹，可愛死了，（前一天我們到的晚大黃沒看見我們，第二天吃早餐的時候正好老闆出去了，它拽着我們的褲腳就要兇兇的把我們往外趕，等姐姐一回來立馬變成了乖狗狗，讓你摸和你玩也不咬了）在民宿的門前就能看見天門洞，唯一的遺憾大概是時間上比較緊張，沒有時間在老闆姐姐家多住幾晚，沒有時間在張家界多玩幾天。乘坐高鐵到張家界西站後快到站時可以打電話給老闆姐姐開車接站，如果到的比較早，可以讓姐姐把行李箱直接拉回民宿，把我們直接送去景區（不用自己回民宿放行李就節省時間啦！）我們先去的天門山，從天門山下來提前給姐姐打電話，姐姐會來接（也是享受了一次奔馳車接車送啦），民宿可以提前點菜在這吃飯（我們時間比較趕沒吃上，但是超級香！），第二天在姐姐家吃的米粉（很像西園寺素麪的味道），去哪裡玩的話，姐姐會很詳細給你介紹景點怎麼玩！

I recently stayed at this homestay in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with my sister and brother-in-law for 4 nights. As visitors with minimal Mandarin skills, we were delighted by the warm hospitality and personalized services provided by our host.
From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel at home, serving us homebrew tea and homegrown organic peanuts! They went above and beyond to ensure our trip was enjoyable and stress-free.
As DIY visitors, we didn’t book any tours. The host offered great guidance after learning about our wishes. They helped us purchase admission tickets and organized transportation for us every day. This made our daily trips to the national park and other tourist spots incredibly easy and convenient.
The place is quiet and absolutely beautiful. We were surrounded by the mountains. The building materials are of superb quality and the insulation is very good, despite the cold weather. The bedding was very comfortable and we all had a good night's sleep.
The highlight of our stay was truly these tailor-made services, providing us with recommendations for daily trips, food, and transportation. We enjoyed plenty of delicious healthy food, including a variety of fruits such as grapes, oranges, pomelo, to name but a few! The vegetables and some fruits (like kumquats, figs) were organically grown on the farm. Every meal was homemade and tasty. We even got to try their own specialty tea Mei Cha (莓茶), which was a delightful experience.
On a particularly rainy day, the host proactively brought umbrellas to us, ensuring we stayed dry and comfortable. At some of the tourist spots, guides had been arranged to ensure our smooth entry. These thoughtful gestures added a personal touch to our experience, making us feel genuinely cared for.
Overall, the owner’s dedication to making our trip enjoyable and successful was evident in every aspect of our stay.
I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The personal touch, yummy organic food, and convenient transportation made our trip unforgettable. Thank you to the host for an exceptional experience!

Bbeeeeeabsolutely loved this place! such a pity that I only had time to stay for one night. amazing staffs/people running the place, they were so welcoming and kind and took care of me knowing that I am alone, they invited me to join them for lunch!
weather was not very forgiving during my stay, so they were very kind to offer me an upgrade to their beautiful rainbow room multiple times for me to rest better. I just love this place and the people, will definitely be back again to try out their rainbow room finally!

SSalekinThe owner was very kind and provided us maps of the scenic area through WeChat as she speaks little English. The hotel is very close to the east gate of Zhangjiajie national forest park. The best part is that the owner can manage the tickets of the attractions at a lower cost than the original price and it is valid. We encourage staying in the hotel, too convenient near to the food street also and you can get discount showing the room key on the street. Would again love to be here. ♥️ From 🇧🇩

Nnita77The No. 5 Valley Hotel should be a destination in its own right for everyone visiting Zhangjiajie! Not only are the views spectacular, the hotel itself is so beautiful. The rooms are both rustic and modern and the staff are kind, welcoming, and helpful. They offer a pick-up service from both the airport and train station, and dropped us off and picked us up at our convenience to and from the park, although it was difficult to leave the hotel and we had spend at least one day lazing about and enjoying the pools, my favourite being the heated infinity pool overlooking the valley - a great soak after a day of walking in the park! Most of the staff spoke English, and Rain advised us on the best routes to take to get the most of our visit. Mei, who grew up right next door, offered us a variety of her hand-picked tea, introducing us to the local medicinal 'berry tea' (莓茶). It was a magical stay and we will be back as soon as we can! (Oh and the bed was possibly the most heavenly we have slept on!)

- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.
A special shoutout to Butler Jiang (将）, who truly went above and beyond.
- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.
Another shoutout to their partnering driver sun (孙）:
- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.

GGuest UserThe hotel was great, in a good location - they gave us a free upgrade to a better room, which was amazing! However, the biggest upside was the hospitality and insightful tips from the front desk! They organized pick ups and drop offs, bought discounted tickets for the Zhangjiajie National Park and Glass Bridge. They organized everything for us and how to tackle the park in the best way possible. Also, they were always available if we had any requests. Staff was super friendly, always trying to help! We will definitely be back! 🫶🏻♥️🐲⛩️

MMousekatLovely place! We would stay here again. The owner and his wife are the perfect hosts, thank you! First, our room was upgraded with no charge, then the owner offered to give us advice for the best routes to visit as much as we can. The weather was rainy and changeable, but they recommended us the best ways to avoid the weather conditions. Breakfast was tasty as at home 👌🏻 Also they helped us to communicate with Didi customer service in Chinese. So hospitable hosts, thank you so much! Will miss this place. Recommend it💔

It’s right by the airport, the hotel can pick you up for free.
The lady is very nice.
They told us a story, that once they couldn’t communicate with a foreigner due to a language barrier, and there was a misunderstanding. The foreigner didn’t understand he will be picked by the hotel’s car, and climbed up by himself. While the owners couldn’t use the translator to explain that they will pick him up. So they got a 1 star feedback, which very unfair.
So please use the Baidu translator, the owners are very nice people 😊
Also they upgraded our room to a bigger a better one😇

Only one of the beds had a curtain around it and it was already taken. Bed was alright. There's a lock on the entrance to the hostel that I wasn't told how to unlock so just sort of had to knock and hope someone would let me in then theres a lock on the room doors but was also not given a key to that so it just stays open
Bathroom
Some of the showers look a bit grubby and the toilet smelt a bit funky but they do the job
Hosting
As with most 24 hours receptions I've encountered in china, it is not really 24 hours. The guy manning the desk seemed pretty friendly and some guests were sitting with him on the bottom floor and they mentioned that we could join them to go out to eat as well so it seems like a pretty social kind of hostel. I believe they can support you with booking tickets to Tianmen and Zhangjiajie
Amenities
I think they also have a cafe. Again no one was at reception and I didn't have their wechat so I couldn't ask about luggage storage but they seemed fine when I came to pick it up later in the day so there's that as well
