MMishDishBishThis hotel really has been a highlight of our trip in China. The hotel owner and staff are so helpful and delightful. They really go the extra yard to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They offer a free pick up service from the airport and train station which we gratefully accepted.
The hotel is situated in the town and was a key reason why we chose this hotel as it was a short stroll to all the local food spots - extremely handy for dinner. The hotel is a 15-20 minute flat walk to the entrance to the Park.
All the amenities are extremely luxurious including C.O Bigelow bathroom amenities, Doewe Egberts filtered coffee, Dyson hair dryer set, Smart TV and room integrated with an AI assistant (Chinese language), soft velvety bathrobes, toilet with a bidet, and Bamford bath salts.
Breakfast is made fresh daily with the choice of wontons, rice noodles and shrimp noodles. Complimenting this is a selection of delicious fruits, steamed buns, sausage, dumplings and rice congee. Eastern and Western diets are catered for with many seasonal fruits on offer. We also had toast and fruit juice. They also offer a free laundry service and did the laundry for us on our last evening and the clothes were ready early in the morning on our departure.
Of huge importance to us was them taking the guess work out of organising our trip to the Zhangjiajie National Park. The owner sat down with us and provided a large map of the park and skillfully explained which parts to visit and which transportation to take between each site and sketched it on the map for us to keep. We paid for a park-wide ticket that covered all the internal transportation and access fees - something we highly recommend and is extremely efficient and economical.
On the day of our visit to the park it was terribly cold, rainy, windy, and foggy. We were unsure which bus to take at one of the sites and they promptly replied to us on WeChat (this program is a must to use when travelling in China and most hotels use this to communicate with you when not face to face) after we took a picture of the signs and asked which bus to take. They also turned the temperature up to 26 degrees in our room so we were welcomed with a warm, toasty room. So considerate!! The room also had shoe dryers for wet shoes.
On our last day during breakfast, at the communal table were guests from Hong Kong, Australia, Russia and Africa. This hotel is extremely foreigner friendly. We are so glad we chose this hotel!

1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality
My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer.
As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently.
2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities
The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions.
3. Generosity & Personal Care
I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated.
When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving.
To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity.
4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support
The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience.
Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns.
For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring.
5. Community Feel
The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home.
6. Final Thoughts
Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart.
Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

GGuest UserIf I could give 100/10 for the service I would. I can understand why this is named ”happy stay”. Honestly I didn't even know it was possible to have such consideration and personal assistance.
Without the help of Happy Stay we would have been lost. They helped me plan a trip with my mum, ans even before I reached China, months before, they helped me book tickets in Zhangjiajie and plan my trip. It's the only way we survived without a tour guide.
They spend time to sit with you patiently with maps of the parks, and draw the route and plan on there. I'm surprised they were not fed up of me messaging so much on wechat with questions about everything from opening hours to cuisines to every detail. To be honest I asked more than the scope of a hotel but I was always helped thoughtfully.
Even the night we reached there, it was late with not many food places open and Happy Stay came outside with me to help me find food and translate for a fussy eater.
Rooms are beautiful, vanity kit even had a hair tie! Location is perfect, 2 minute Didi from the park gate and when you leave the park your in the middle of the main area with food and shops. Also on a pretty river that has fairy lights at night.

I usually don't write reviews like this, but the service baffled me.
The day before my arrival, the owner asked ways to contact; we added eachother on WeChat and communication was extremely easy.
Gave me options from picking up from the airport to tips on how to get there safely and easy.
This made the arrival very easy and I felt safe/confident.
They took our luggage to the room, accomodation itself was quite pleasant, everything was clean and they were understanding.
The place is quite remote, so there were barely any food options. The owner offered us their food options, first I wasn't intrigued but in the end we chose to order.
It went smoothly, got a message we could come downstairs for food; it was an amazing homecooked meal that made me feel like I was back home.
After dinner he insisted to plan our whole 2-day Zhangjiajie itinerary. From ways to travel to activities. He made clear how we could get the most out of the 2 days while being realistic about time.
This went to smoothly, he purchased the tickets for us for the retail price, similar to the price on trip.com.
The days went by so smoothly, it was like having a free tour guide with the stay. When there were any questions, messages and calls were responded immediately.
I can write so much more, but all I can say is that this was one of the best experiences I've ever had while staying in any accomodation, even compared to high-end hotels.
Thank you so so much for the amazing experience, without you I wouldn't have seen so much in 2 days.

GGuest UserI have read about the host before booking this inn. Still, I wasn't expected them to be this good. The host was trying everything he can to help us with our constantly changing plan due to the weather. It wasn't a straightforward plan, as we always stayed one day/night in a different part of the park hence already did some sightseeing. During our stay here at the inn, it rained a lot so we needed to make a last minute plan change to avoid the mountain top (there's nothing to see due to the fog). My partner doesn't eat the local breakfast which is offered at the inn so the host drove us to a nearby breakfast restaurant. He also arranged drivers for us with better price than if booked ourselves. The host's son was very helpful too: He was keen for us to go to a particular spot for sunset view on our arrival day as he knew there'd be cloud sea at the time and it's not a regular event. Too bad we didn't listen to him :-)

XXiaoyaxiaotangyuan、The hotel is very close to Tianmen Mountain cableway, just a few yuan by taxi, so the location is great if you're visiting Tianmen Mountain. There's a shopping mall downstairs. It's close to the road, so there can be a bit of traffic noise, which might be an issue if you're a light sleeper. I wasn't a big fan of the rice noodles at breakfast, but everything else was really good. I'd recommend staying here.

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

FflyknightIt was an awesome stay! The location is near eateries and the park. We stayed at the 2 bedroom suite and I must say it is one of the biggestI had come across. The suite was exceptionally clean and tidy. The service provided was exemplary. Anything you need, the service staff was ready to help. As we left the laundry in the washing machine, the service staff helped us hang up the laundry when we got back from our tour! Awesome. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this cosy inn.

MM502324****This stay truly exceeded my expectations! First off, I have to commend the hotel's ambiance. The lobby decor is incredibly stylish, and the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere. The room had excellent natural light, and the soundproofing was fantastic; once the window was closed, it was perfectly quiet, allowing me to get a great night's sleep during a busy trip.
Secondly, the facilities were incredibly modern and user-friendly. The smart control system worked very well, and what surprised me most was the bathroom setup: the wet and dry areas were completely separated, the water pressure was strong and stable, and the quality of the toiletries was also very high. All the amenities were comprehensive, showing that the hotel pays great attention to detail. I highly recommend it to anyone who values quality accommodation.

We originally wanted a family room but it was fully booked, so we took the owner's recommendation for a river-view king room, which turned out to be excellent. The room was very spacious, and the owner provided an extra 1.4-meter bed, making our stay extremely comfortable; the kids especially loved it. It featured a bathtub, a projector, and even a tea room. We stayed for four nights, and each evening the owner helped us plan the next day's itinerary, even suggesting evening activities tailored to our needs. This personalized service was truly a huge plus! Overall, the room facilities were great, the views stunning, and the owner's service outstanding. We will definitely recommend this place to many more friends!
