Homewood Suites by Hilton Philadelphia-City Avenue

They were having issues with toilets was not the best experience for me.

During arrivals hotel with extremely cold. I stayed overnight woke up heating system was still cold until 12pm my next day.

We were celebrating my 70th birthday and out of town children also stayed in 2 additional rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only deficiency was the maid service which was only 1 day of our 6 day stay

Two bedroom/two bath suite with kitchen was spacious, clean and comfortable. Small issue in the room when we arrived was quickly fixed by the efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast was adequate but coffee and food could have been hotter. Would also have liked more choices. Adequate on street free parking. Would stay there again.

When we first walked in the lobby was fairly busy with incoming travelers. There was one person working the front desk, but he tried to keep his spirits and everyone else’s spirits up while we waited. The first negative thing that I noticed was after a long trip, I really wanted coffee, and there was no coffee to be found when we arrived, even though it stated on the website coffee is available 24 hours. The second thing was I requested a high floor and far from the elevator, due to noise from people coming and going. When we were assigned our room, it was on the fourth floor , and across from the elevator. The hotel had 10 floors all together, and only one working elevator to accommodate all of the guest, which seemed to be a full house. My next complaint was the shower, had five baby roaches, crawling around inside of it. Which forced us to put our luggage and shoes inside of the refrigerator and freezer so the roaches could not get to our luggage and travel back to our home. The chairs in our room looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. They had stains all on the arms and in the seat and smelled. As a Hilton Honors member, when I checked in the concierge stated they did not have a gift for me, but asked me to return a little later and they would have the traditional Hilton honor member gift bag for me. Approximately two hours later, I returned no gift bag, and their snack bar was completely bare.

******* states pet cost is $50 per stay. I paid $125 for a 5 day stay. Room service is available twice a week. No luggage carrier was available at checkin.

Staff great, easy check in, parking easy. Lobby smelled like *********. Elevator smelled like vapes and the third floor and our room smelled like old cigars. I don’t mean just a whiff of smell, it was embedded in everything and lasted all night and the next morning. Not acceptable.

The hotel is very nice and very cozy for an extended stay. Beautiful and ideal location and on the borderline of residential and urban/city life. Close to major roads and highways.
