I booked one day to just sleep over at this place, but really loved its service and the facilities. Breakfast was tasty and had multiple options. The only minus is the location, which is around 25 minutes' walk to the city center and 40 minutes to the railway station.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

Stayed here for 1 night in August to see Pisa before flying home after a wedding holiday, and we honestly could have stayed for a week. It was perfect to be able to relax and decompress after a busy trip in such an impressive hotel with pool grounds on the edge of Pisa. It was easy to get in and out of the centre of Pisa, the walk was fine in the day (you do have to use an underpass but plenty of other people are also using it). At night we opted for taxis, the underpass had a bit to do with this but also it was just easier for us all dressed for dinner. Our room honestly felt like luxury, this place is an absolute gem for those who want a high standard hotel whilst seeing Pisa. would 10000% recommend. Only criticism - the roof is underused. There's a disused bar that's completely empty and a handful of seats. We couldn't believe this as it was absolutely beautiful at sunset. They could definitely utilise this more to give the hotel that extra wow factor. We'd have definitely made us of it if it were running.

Perfect location - 25 minutes walk from the train station - walk out the front of the hotel turn right & you see the Tower in seconds. Rooms clean / tidy & traditional but perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay in Pisa. Breakfast was buffet style & had everything from cereals, croissants, yogurts to bacon & eggs - all good. The rooftop bar is the star though - it has a perfect view of the tower. Costs are reasonable as well being the same as what you would pay at street level.

Don’t be fooled by the photos. But in fact, when I arrived in the room, it turned out that the photo was taken and it felt very dirty...Because it is an old building, the wall is that kind of old wall, so it looks dirty, but it is actually the texture of the wall...The interior inside is very beautiful The lamps and tables all have old European style and are very comfortable. The front desk is also very standardized, all dressed in suits, very polite and friendly, and good English. The most beautiful is the top of the hotel room, which has a bit of the feeling of a wooden house on the Norwegian side, because it may be an old house with wooden beams rebuilt, but it looks better. The hot water in the bath is also very hot. There is no elevator. We have a lot of boxes. The front desk changed us to a low-floor room~ and the heating seems to be turned off in the middle of the night. Many hotels here seem to be like this in order to save costs but it will not be cold at night. The breakfast is also quite rich, it is a normal continental breakfast, basically all.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. Please stay somewhere else! Learn from our mistake. This may be a photogenic building, but its a soulless, slow, sloppy, faded and, in our case, very expensive place. On arrival we went to the bar for a late lunch. About 25 minutes after Simone had taken our order I asked where our food was? Simone said that he was busy, (only 1 other table was occupied) but he was just going to go and prepare it (...!). I told him to fuggeddaboudit; he complained that it wasnt his fault: he is the waiter & chef. (Is this really supposed to be 5 star service hotel?). We left, and apart from breakfast, we avoided eating in the hotel. (Break fast was fine - because it is self service - but do they really need the squeaky breadgrill with its high pitched irritating squeak?). We were 2 parents with a 5&7 year old. Our room was €650 a night (!). They upgraded us to a suite (so how bad was our original room?). The suite was nice, spacious, elegant but barely a €300 a night accomodation. The wifi was slow, intermittent and some areas with no coverage, which was very frustrating. Tip: get Starlink wifi throughout. In bed I noticed hopping fleas - maybe they were attracted to the mobile phone screen. After I complained, I was told that the room had since been checked, sheets changed and no fleas found - but I still found more the next night and our daughter got 3 bites. Even a week later the hotel calls me at home to assure me that there were no fleas (?) I should have read more reviews before I booked and noted how Thomas the GM notes the criticisms are fabrications.... IMO this hotel grossly devalues The Leading Hotels of the World brand. Pity. Its a decent 3 star hotel at best. I informed the staff about the issues early in our stay. I chased them up again and they apologised and offered me free spa treatment - no thanks: I just want them to fix the issues and make this an enjoyable 3 star hotel. Its never going to be a proper 4 of 5 star and Leading Hotels of the World should drop this as the only 5 star attribute are the prices. Its a rip off for what it is.

The hotel is within a shopping center which is very convenient. Free parking in front of the hotel. The breakfast is ok, not too many choices but it s enaugh.

Great location, friendly staff, facilities, laundry machine, luggage storage, nice common area with a bar and dining. Very nice court yard to sit outside. A place has also elevator. Simple, but it has everything you need. Right behind the train station and 15 minutes walk from the airport. Highly recommend!
