I recently stayed at Isango for a business trip. The location is, for the most part, good. It is set back a few blocks from the beach but some of the rooms have ocean views. It is also walking distance to some shops and restaurants (but I would Uber at night rather than walk). On the negative side, it is right next to a student dorm. I was there on a Wednesday night and one of the students turned their music up really loud at 10pm. it didn't last for long but I could see this being an issue on a weekend night. The place is very good value for the money. It must have been really something when it was first opened but could use a little updating now. That said, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a small gym with a few pieces of equipment (treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc.) and a pool for hot summer days. My room was huge with really high ceilings and a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was filled with toiletries and had a huge tub in a addition to a shower. There was a nice balcony but the lock wasn't working properly so I couldn't go out (I'm sure the reception staff would have helped me if I had asked). The other issue is that the lock on the door of the room was challenging to lock and unlock - it was hard to get it to "catch". The breakfast the next day really nicely prepared - eggs and other breakfast items made to order. In short, this is an affordable place to stay. If they renovate the place, they could charge even more for the rooms.
