Garden Court Suites and Apartments

We stayed here for 5 nights, 2 adults and 2 kids. There are definite pro's and con's here. Positives: Location is near perfect. 5 minute walk into town, slightly longer on way back going up the hill, but going via the playground made it easier with the kids. Easy to get to the airport and supermarkets if you have a car. Beds were very comfortable. The unit is spacious and well laid out, pretty much all amenities are covered for self catering. Designated parking space a big plus. Negatives: The unit needed a good clean. There were numerous cobwebs on the ceiling beams that had clearly been there a while. The extractor fan and light over the oven didn't work. Its quite dark inside, and one of the lights over the dining table was hanging out of the ceiling. Not all that private, as soon as you open your curtains to let natural light in, other units can see inside. Outside area for our unit was cramped and furniture needed a clean. Overall, not bad for a last minute booking, but would be better with a bit of TLC.

My husband and I stayed here for a stop in Queenstown for our honeymoon! Centrally located and close to the downtown! Rooms were very clean and great to have parking for our JUCY van! The check in office was great helping us out with an issue of double booking. I highly recommend you stay here! Drive over to the Bungy bridge, Skyline luge and Ferburger!

The hotel is close to the lake and the snowy mountains outside the window 🏔️ The lakeside scenery is very beautiful and you can stay for a few more days. The disadvantage is that the cleaning service is not in place.

Absolutely incredible unit! Everything was thought of and the unit was spacious and located just steps from the lake front. We couldn’t fault it! Washing machine and dryer, drying racks, dishwasher and all liquids provided as well as all the mod cons! The service was amazing! A great welcome basket and always easy to reach in a moments notice via WhatsApp. Will definitely be where we stay going forward! :) Thanks element escapes for making our holiday one to remember!
Nugget Point Hotel

My rating of 'very good' takes into consideration the amount we paid to stay here. This was the cheapest of our 12 accommodations in NZ at under £100 equivalent. We actually felt an element of sadness as the hotel has clearly had a much grander past and is suffering now, either through lack of investment or changes in customer demand. We noticed that visitors to Queenstown are in the majority younger people looking for the thrill experiences, so perhaps a hotel on the outskirts of the town originally designed for the more discerning traveller is no longer what people are looking for. The Dining room for example is grandly furnished and has amazing views across the river - you can imagine a fine dining experience here being very popular , but now the restaurant is closed for evening meals and just opens for breakfast. Such a shame. We were advised by email that evening meals were no longer available so we were prepared for that and as there are other places close by it was not a problem for us. Our room was very spacious and had an equally spacious balcony. It was bigger than many other rooms we had in other accommodations. True, it was dated and tired but the bed was comfortable, clean and we slept well. Fresh milk was easily available at reception in a small glass bottle for in room beverages - I prefer that arrangement - the little plastic packets of milk are not environmentally friendly and fresh milk always tastes nicer. The walk/ hall way to the rooms from reception to the 1st floor was in a very poor state - this gives a very poor impression and badly needs redecorating. Breakfast was ok - not amazing, but for the money paid we felt it served its purpose well. The staff we saw were all very friendly and accommodating. There is no lift in the building and the gentleman on reception offered to take our cases up to our room as he could see they were quite heavy. It will be interesting to see what happens with this hotel over the coming years, we do wish the current team well as clearly things are not easy for them at the moment.
Scenic Suites Queenstown

Good location, comfy room with balcony with partial sea view. Had everything you needed but was a bit of a strange layout in the whole complex. To get to our room from reception we could get part of the way by a lift but then had to go outside twice to get to the right block. However, there was parking in the basement which had a direct lift up to the floor we were on. Like most places in Queenstown, there was a lot of building work going on & roadworks which made things a bit awkward but not impossible. Staff were friendly & helpful. There was a restaurant on site but we indulged in room service which was excellent.
