I’m really impressed, we visited the Moorcock for dinner before it changed hands and we could eat the food it was that bad. We came up on a beautiful sunny day and sat outside, ordered some food and were really impressed by it. The decor is so much better, the food is lovely, the staff are very friendly and the views well they never change. We loved the outdoor pod for events they’ve put up, the owners are obviously keen on investing and making the place even better. Will return

Seems nice clean place, beers are on form. Bit disappointed my telephone reservation for food 2 hours earlier seemed to have disappeared. Was shown to a table in middle of restaurant but we asked to move to one of the several vacant window seats (obviously). Plenty of staff & we got served after the table that came in after us. Not the most welcoming. 1 steak & beef dripping cooked chips, both were ok, 1 Sunday lunch (pork) large serving, veg nice, home made yorkie nice, large serving of pork which was ok. Spectacular views & owner seems to be putting the effort in, shame too windy to sit outside. All in all ok - bit of work needed on multiple young staff customer service - didn’t feel special but try it

Having known the chef here from another place went up with family to check it out OMG food just how I remembered his cooking Just do yourself a favour and go have a meal here Whole family loved it, you won’t go hungry the portions are big and the quality top notch Lovely setting - walk in and it’s like an old country pub (just how a pub should be) and then you walk into the restaurant and it’s like walking into a top notch restaurant in a city centre but with out the snobbery Staff all welcoming and very friendly Can’t wait to go back and work our way through the menu

Reviewed today on a Sunday lunchtime. Pub is situated in spectacular countryside, with lovely stone exterior. The biggest disappointment is the modern conversion of the dining area inside. The character completely gone and replaced by bland tables and decor, which is such a shame. The food was okay and reasonably priced.

As a Drop In its a Nice place for a drink and a Pub Grub meal. Certainly well liked by its regulars however for me it was certainly an acquired taste. No complaints about Food , Drink or layout, Cleanliness fine, Staff are welcoming However in my experience the "local regulars" are a bit bawdy and the use of bad language is loud and unchecked. I would visit again but would not consider the restaurant suitable for younger children as sound travels. Maybe it was just a bad evening.

Fantastic from booking this evening with a lovely lady who really went the extra mile in her attention to detail. We were really well looked after by Jake Ben and Kai excellent efficient and professional. The food was really well cooked excellent service and really good value. You used to be our go to but a couple of years ago slipped so we didn't come as much but guess what..... we are back. Thanks for a lovely evening

Visited for a casual birthday lunch on a cold February day recently. However this pub estaurant delivers a very warm welcome and food to match. The hospitality of the hosts and staff was first class! I even received a complimentary chocolate brownie with lit candle when they could see it was a birthday visit. Lovely place combined with excellent and professional service. A great venue for just a casual drink or a full blown feast!

First time visit for food to this place. I didn’t know what to expect but wanted to give it a try. We had to wait a while for our food to come. (50 minutes) for a meal for two people. We put this down to it maybe being busy. The food was ok. When the food arrived the peas although nicely presented they where cold, I didn’t send them back for fear of finishing my meal before they arrived back I just left them. However when we ordered our dessert we still hadn’t received it after 25 minutes despite only 1 other couple being in the restaurant that we could see. We only received our desserts after a more mature waitress came to ask if we were still waiting for our desserts. They did remove them from the bill due to the time we waited. On the whole a lovely place with a good atmosphere spoilt by the wait time for food. We really enjoyed the music that was played and one song reminded me of the last time I was in the building when it was a nightclub back in the late 80’s early 90’s.

Second visit to this lovely Inn with my family, the first thing I would like to say is the waiting staff are brilliant, they are young but well trained nothing was too much trouble, and all with a friendly smile. The food is fantastic I tried the roast beef others had the pies or Cumberland sausage, all cooked very well and extremely tasty, also gravy was lovely. There is a nice ambience in both the bar area and the restaurant, very relaxing place to enjoy your meal. The Inn is huge with a large outside area with lovely views I can’t wait to come back in the summer.
