We stayed for one night, a couple with our dog. We had a room allocated for dog owners with direct access to the outside. Mattress and sheets / pillow very nice quality and very clean. Staff really friendly and professional. Lovely pub, nice garden. Everything was spotlessly clean. A short drive from The Serpentine path, beautiful surroundings. We had dinner in the pub which was really good quality and delicious. Breakfast the next day was excellent. Will definitely book again and can recommend.

The room and bathroom were clean and comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Lots of extras like iron, hairdryer, clock radio tucked away in drawers and wardrobe. Breakfast was lovely. We ate with family, including an active toddler, on first night and everyone enjoyed their choices. Staff were lovely with little one!

The inn has a really warm feel immediately on entering and a great welcome from the owners and charming team. Our room " Sussex" on the ground floor close to the bar/ restaurant , was well decorated with excellent lighting and clothes storage with such really helpful items as a table mirror, ironing board and extra pillows in the wardrobe Such a comfortable bed ! The bathroom was beautifully clean with both full size bath and super shower.....Yes , plenty of real hot water ,as was the space heating when needed .! Superb food and gluten free catering not a problem . The most delicious full english breakfast ever tasted ! Thank you all for a super stay ! Paul and Nicky Sutton.

We booked here as we needed to visit Portsmouth and just needed an overnight. The staff were very helpful and although we arrived late on Sunday, we were able to sample the Sunday lunch, which was delicious. This is a great place if you have a dog as they are well catered for, with us being able to have a ground floor room and you are literally minutes away from the South Downs for walking. The room was lovely, with water and biscuits provided, as well as plenty of tea and coffee. I would definitely stay again, as the breakfasts are fabulous.

Came down for a 3 night stay at this dog friendly hotel, was very pleased with the room and the location. The pub was very friendly and had a section where the dog could accompany us whilst we both had a drink and food. If I had to have one criticism,it would be the bar opening times on the Sunday of our stay, it closed at 4pm and being in a quiet spot, there were no other pubs within walking distance to call for a meal and a drink. But that's not an issue for everyone. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area and that is almost a certaintywith future meets planned

We dropped in for food and drinks . Service food and drink were all really good. If you like good pub grub, Burger was vgood - then give this place a try. The real ales are in good condition and change regularly - the outdoor area and covered outside are a well done

We stayed with our dog over a weekend. Room was directly accessed from car park. This was useful for taking dog in from car but it’s worth mentioning that you would have to be vigilant with door if your dog is prone to going outside. The room was clean and adequate but very hot and stuffy even with radiator turned off and opening window directly into car park was off putting. The pub itself is lovely with great staff and some interesting friendly locals. Breakfast excellent quality but you have to preorder as soon as you check in and on both occasions lady read out from a list whereas we would have preferred to be able to read and complete ourselves! However we had no complaints about this or two evening meals both enjoyable. All in all we enjoyed our stay but pub appeared to us to be more of a causal stop off venue rather than a destination venue.
