Hotel was good. Very friendly staff at check-in, but then… We were given the key to our room, which we quickly discovered was located on the bottom floor and required a staircase to access with our heavy luggage. Before we even entered the room, my husband went back to the front desk to see if there was another available room. We were told there wasn’t, which we were understanding of, as we know it his high season. Well, upon entering the room, and beginning to unpack, I discovered in the bathroom a significant portion of black mold all over the wallpaper next to the shower. Having a child with allergies, and black mold being a health hazard, we went back to the desk to inform them, and see what could be done. The woman at the desk looked and me and said, “what are you trying to do here, your husband already asked for a new room, and now your back again with another issue?” I explained that when he initially asked for a new room, we had not even been inside, but now that we have, the black mold is a health hazard and no one should be staying in that room, period. I offered to even show her the issue. I felt like I was made out to be deceitful or something. She went in the back and said she would return, and after a few back and forth’s, we were given a new room. The second room also had a patch of black mold on the wall paper near the shower, but much smaller than the original room. Seems like it is a persistent problem throughout the hotel, and should probably be addressed. At this point, we were exhausted with jet lag, starving and only spending one night. Plus, I didn’t want to be made to feel like I was being deceitful again by bringing up another issue with the second room. The breakfast was lovely. We chose this hotel, as we stayed at an H10 property in Barcelona, which was a phenomenal experience. This stay was fine, but they definitely have a few things to work on.

Located in the middle of tourist spots in Rome, but awful service. Firstly, when you enter the hotel with all the lagugage, there are many steps which make it difficult to carry your stuff. The room was very small, I wanted to heat up my food, they said the microwave doesn't work or exist 🙄🙄🙄🙄the worst part was breakfast only hot thing on the menue was scrambled eggs ham, which were both tasteless 😳😳watermelon was the only available fruit, which most days they brought lame excuses why they can't have it, 🤔🤔🤔the juice was powder mixed with water 🤔🙄😱, the cakes and cheese were entirely tasteless, mainly factory packaging, not homemade, for a hotel with this price, the breakfast is awful 😣😣😣

The hotel is in a good location, and the surrounding area is relatively quiet. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the Spanish Square, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. It also takes about 15 minutes to take a taxi to the Vatican and the Colosseum. The hotel's service response speed is quite fast. In terms of facilities, the bedroom is relatively large, but the design of the bathroom is hard to describe. The toilet and the washbasin are next to each other, and the bathroom door is also fighting with the toilet. The design is very anti-human. Overall, it's not bad, and the price is expensive

We stayed at Hotel ISA for 12 nights, and couldn't have picked a better location. It was in walking distance to many of the sights, and convenient to the Metro. The breakfast on the terrace was wonderful with a great view and variety of food. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was not on yet (which we found out is normal for Europe this time of year), and we requested a fan for our room. Within an hour or 2 they had delivered a floor fan which was a big help sleeping at night. The room was also equipped with soundproof widows. There are also many restaurants and gelato places near by for convenience. I would like to thank the staff for making our stay great, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at the Quirinale several times. It's perfect for us as it's close to Termini on foot (10mins with luggage). Our room was very spacious and rather elegant with lovely old parquet - a bit noisy but so attractive. In fact the whole hotel gives the impression of space and elegance - even if it's now a little faded, which doesn't worry us at all.
The service was fine except at breakfast where there are simply not enough staff - walking into the breakfast room and finding so many tables uncleared is not a good look. However, the quality of the buffet has improved greatly over the last five years; having been poor it is now very good. However, the coffee is very poor, and the fruit juice, which is little more than very sweet flavoured water, is almost undrinkable. At 150 euros a night this simply is not good enough and I shall be writing to the hotel about this. However, because of the quality of the room, the hotel location and bar drinks being very reasonably priced we will continue to use this hotel for our trips to Rome.

This was our second time in Best Western hotel Universo.
Location is perfect: very close to the central railway station Termini and to metro stations, in 15 minutes walk to Colosseum/Forum and 5 minutes to magnificent churches like Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Prassede.
Room is clean and relatively spacious, about 20 sqm including the bathroom united with the toilet. Everything works. Minor fault of the building is insufficient sound insulation. When some clients started a booming discussion at 01.30 PM on 28.05.2024, the sleep did not come easy.
The breakfast is very good especially compared with other Roman hotels we’ve visited before – you eat tasty and recognizable foods – ham, cheese, bread.
The stuff is friendly but occasionally bring informational mistakes like giving an expert opinion on time-tables of the trains, not corresponding to the reality.
Summary: a nice hotel and we shall come back (4 of 5, but all of us are not immaculate)

This hotel is in an incomparable location for those wishing to travel to or from Termini Station and the Termini metro station. It is in close proximity to many first class sites, including the Baths of Diocletian, Santa Maria Maggiore, and Santa Pressede. The atmosphere within the hotel is modern and restful --worlds away from the gritty hustle and bustle outside its doors. The Superior Double room that we were given was of good size, quiet and was recently decorated with very lovely wood accents. The bathroom looked modern; however, the grout in the shower was already showing signs of age. This might be attributable to the fact that there was no fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was generous and good for the most part. I did, however, find it shocking that , rather than picking the coffee cup up by its saucer, the waiter picked up the cup by its top (yuck) in order to refill it, leaving the saucer on the table. Given the reasonable price point, this hotel provides a good and predictable night's stay.

- Room: A traditional apartment was converted into three rooms, with a small kitchen and a common area for each room. Each room is different and the space is quite large. In fact, it is more like a shared apartment. The room should have been newly renovated not long ago, and the facilities are OK, but it is not very soundproof. However, many European hotels are not soundproof either, so there may be no way.
- Location: A love-hate location, very close to the train station, right next to it, but the streets are really messy and dirty, and there are hidden dangers of unsafe conditions. You need to be very calm and strong when going out.
- If you are passing by for a transfer, or don't mind the chaos in Europe and Africa, you can stay here. If you are on vacation and have a similar budget, it is best to choose other areas.
- In addition, the check-in time of this accommodation is 5 pm, which is later than ordinary hotels. Otherwise, there is an additional charge of 25 euros, and an additional cleaning fee of 100 euros. To be honest, this is a bit of a pitfall. Booking also has many homestays, but many do not have such charges. They are classified as hotels in Ctrip, so it is easy to ignore them.
- Checking in is also quite troublesome. You have to fill in a lot of information through Google sheet before check-in. It is not friendly to many people who cannot use it and it feels informal.

The hotel was conveniently located 5-min from Termini train station and the FCO airport shuttle bus and hop on hop off bus stops just across. We stayed 2 times during our 2 week stay in Rome - over night stay before heading down to Civitavecchia Port for MSC cruise and 4 night stay upon return from the cruise ship. We used the hotel storage service for one of our luggage bags for a week during our 7-day cruise. The hotel staffs were friendly.

I would have liked to rate the hotel as 4.5* however our room was at the front of the hotel and even with the windows shut it was very noisy from the large road junction outside, plus there was noise from other residents and tvs in other rooms, maybe some soundproofing needs to be carried out. That having been said the location was excellent, an easily walkable distance to main attractions, plus a metro stop is directly outside the hotel. The area felt safe at night and there some very good restaurants to try which are only minutes away. Should you wish to go shopping then there are plenty of non-designer shops to choose from nearby including a very good department store called COIN. Our room was a good size and had a lovely bathroom. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the linen was super soft. Cleaning through the hotel was of a high standard. Breakfast was excellent, everything you might want and the most delicious scrambled eggs I have ever had in a hotel. There were salads, pastries, cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, different cured meats and cheeses, sausages and bacon and vegetarian options. Top marks for the hard working breakfast staff. A great start to the day. Staff generally were friendly and helpful. At reception were snacks and drinks to welcome you which was a nice gesture. The hotel also has a small restaurant, ideal for lunches or if you are too exhausted to leave the hotel at night. We had pizzas and salads there a couple of times for lunch and they were very good. The reception area is good with couches, they will look after your baggage if you have a late flight. A very enjoyable stay.

XXIAOLANThe hotel is newly renovated, very clean, booked triple room, is a large bed, there is a sofa bed, the sofa bed is paved. Mini bar food and refrigerator drinks (Coke, Sprite, Orange Juice, Soda, 2 bottles of mineral water) are free, but they are no longer added after use. The breakfast was great and very rich. There is an open-air bar on the top floor, which is open at night. You can sit down and chat without a drink. The hotel is ideally located for all of Rome’s sights.
PPKcullenNestled in the heart of Rome, Camplus Hotel Roma Centro is a haven for discerning travelers seeking a blend of comfort, convenience, and affordability. Upon entering the hotel, you're immediately struck by the immaculate cleanliness that permeates the entire establishment. From the gleaming hallways to the spotlessly maintained rooms, every detail exudes a sense of meticulous care.
The hotel's location is another major feather in its cap. Situated just a stone's throw away from Rome Termini Station, the city's central hub, you'll find yourself within easy reach of all the must-see attractions. Whether you're exploring the ancient Colosseum, immersing yourself in the Vatican's grandeur, or meandering through the charming Trastevere district, you'll be able to seamlessly navigate Rome's labyrinthine streets without the hassle of transportation.
The staff at Camplus Hotel Roma Centro is genuinely friendly and attentive, going the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasant and hassle-free. From the moment you check in to the day you depart, they are always eager to assist with your inquiries and provide helpful recommendations for exploring the city.
While the amenities may not be as extensive as some luxury hotels, they are sufficient for a comfortable stay. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring you have all the essentials to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, Camplus Hotel Roma Centro is an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize cleanliness, convenience, and friendly service. With its central location and comfortable accommodations, this hotel provides a great base for exploring the Eternal City without breaking the bank.
Fabulous Hotel, staff very welcoming, smiling and polite. Room was a tad tired but clean, quite and bed comfortable. Roof top bar and restaurant was amazing, very atmospheric with beautiful plants and lighting. We chose half board and the food was outstanding, very filling, and flavoursome, they presented extensive food and wine menu options and great bar man too. Staff in restaurant went above and beyond to make our Daughter feel extra special on her 18th birthday which was a lovely touch and muchly appreciated. Metro very easy to use and navigate, we chose to scan our credit cards on barrier which was quicker and capped the same as London tube stations. Recommend Ice Club Roma if you fancy a night out with a difference. Will definitely stay again.
DDe Bruyn - HendrickxWe stayed at the Hotel Ripa Roma for five nights. At first glance, a very well-kept hotel with a good ratio between price and quality. We were well served on arrival after midnight by the receptionist and were able to get to the room quickly. The last day we could check out until noon, but since our flight was in the evening, we could safely leave our luggage at the reception. A plus, because your last day in Rome can also be a nice one this way without luggage dragging.
The hotel has a very nice, contemporary and artistic look. We like this very much. The room (superior room) was very spacious, clean and with the necessary facilities. The bed was very good. The bathroom was very hygienic, logically arranged with a pleasant shower. About the room we certainly have no complaints. Only the noise from other rooms and the corridor was disturbing. When the guests in the neighboring room turned on their TV, we could perfectly listen in. When shouting in the hallway, it seemed that those persons were standing next to the bed. The rooms are not really soundproof. Fortunately, we had earplugs with us.
We also took breakfast during our stay. Here we are less satisfied. The tableware was dirty (coffee cups brown, cutlery with food residues, plates insufficiently cleaned, glasses full of calcium, ...), in our opinion a limited choice of healthy food (many cakes and cookies) and the hot dishes were cold, even when they were just served. We found the staff unhelpful, even a good morning or a friendly smile was sometimes too much. When we wanted to sit at a table on the small platform in the center of the restaurant, we were sent away because cleaning was already in progress (around 9:30 a.m.). The last two days the hotel was fully booked, which caused a lot of noise in the restaurant. We experienced this as unpleasant. Should we return, we would book a room without breakfast and find a nice breakfast place in town.
Finally, we find the city tax on the high side. For the five nights (six days) we pay €60 (= €5 p.p. per day). That is the highest city tax I have ever paid and we are frequent travelers.
Overall, a nice stay in a well located hotel, with the breakfast restaurant as a point of interest.
Hotel is in perfect location for termini. On street opposite entrance to termini. The hop on buses go from same street 2 minutes walk away. Trevi fountain is 20 minutes walk. Nice walk in cool evenings. The street is safe as is most of Rome. Breakfast is same as anywhere, eggs rashers great fruit grapes orange pineapple, cold water and coffee etc. We paid 740 for 5 nights including breakfast. Lovely reception staff, would recommend
JjimmyzhangyeThe first hotel to stay after arriving in Italy, 7-8 minutes walk from the subway station. There is a bus at the door to the Plaza de Espana. Because the surrounding areas are residential areas, it feels that prices are much cheaper than scenic spots. The bed at Best Western is still very comfortable, but the Italian double bed is composed of two beds. If there are children sleeping, it is better to make a large bed.
JJasmine PaigeNo fridge or roof area. But location was great and staff were great. Don’t go to any restaurants near this hotel though. Especially with the old man. It’s a scam
GGuest UserAs part of our ongoing Europe trip, I stayed with my aunt and my friend for 4 nights; we booked 2 rooms, our bed looked like a double but was 2 single joined so it was great for me and my aunt as we separated the beds. The hotel had good amenities - private bathroom was huge although for some reason the lights would just turn off randomly? I don't know if it was just our room or everyone else's. The swimming pool is only opened in the summer!! so it was closed for us, which was sad.
The staff was really nice and they gave us extra blankets, coffee machine and a kettle when we asked for it! Really appreciated their help and trust me there was so many large groups always arriving at this hotel so they were doing amazing. We paid for dinner once and a breakfast. Dinner was hit or miss - I loved my Chicken salad, but the others weren't impressed with the burgers they had but breakfast was definitely better. I think the star was the beans because wow they were good.
The only major cons about the stay was that our room was located right next to the elevator (same as Florence) and it was noisy all morning and late at night, plus some construction at like 8am ish so please if you can, ask for a faraway room! Also the distance from the city centre was quite tiring, yes it is only 23 mins metro from the Torre Angela station but an 11 mins walk from the station to the hotel and with our suitcases and the station exit not having any elevators, it was hard work. To get to the hotel side, you need to first go down the stairs, then up the stairs and go down again so if you are walking from the station to the hotel, be prepared!
It was a decent hotel, I'd say this is more of a premier Inn type of hotel, there's not much range when it comes to breakfast, bacon and eggs and mostly cake. It's quite far from Rome center so will need to get the metro, 15 minutes walk to the metro and then about 30 minutes on the metro to Rome center. I think getting charged £45 for tourist tax is ridiculous, especially being far out, with this extra money could have booked a hotel closer to Rome center.
Prima e ultima volta!
