"I recently stayed at the Solana Beach Resort during my trip to Mauritius and wanted to share a balanced look at the highlights and a couple of unexpected drawbacks of my stay. The Highlights: Comfort & Tranquility The Room: We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View, and it did not disappoint. The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and came equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Wake up to the sea view was a major plus. Location: Situated near Belle Mare on the eastern coast of Mauritius, the resort is in a very calm, quiet, and peaceful area. If you are looking to disconnect and relax, this location is ideal. Activities & Amenities: The resort has its own spa and offers fantastic sea excursions right from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary water activities, including the glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, and paddle boating. The Food & Restaurants: The dining options were a definite highlight of our stay. The main restaurant, Cinnamon, serves an overall good buffet for both breakfast and dinner, featuring a great variety of multiple cuisines including Mauritian, Indian, and Western dishes. Additionally, the resort features another on-property restaurant focused on fine dining that serves excellent Italian cuisine. The Drawbacks: Isolation & Nickle-and-Diming Quiet Nights: Because the resort is far from the main city centers, there is absolutely no local market or nightlife/entertainment nearby. Once the sun goes down, the property becomes very silent. This is perfect for couples or relaxation, but worth noting if you prefer a bit of evening energy. The Water Policy (A Major Disappointment): This was the biggest letdown of our stay. The resort provides 2 complimentary bottles of water daily, but charges for any extra bottles you need in the room. Worse yet, water is chargeable during dinner. Having traveled to almost 40+ countries, this is the very first time I have ever encountered a resort charging for standard table water during a dinner service. For a resort of this caliber, charging for basic drinking water feels incredibly cheap and dampens the overall guest experience."

"The hotel has its own beach, which is great. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the check-in wait was too long, even though there weren't many guests checking in at the time. The restaurant was very crowded, but the food selection was limited and the taste was average; you could just fill your stomach. The streetlights inside the hotel were insufficient at night, making it quite dark."

На ужин можно попробовать даже лобстера;) Однако, я бы обратила внимание руководства на чистоту посуды в столовой, и это не только моё мнение, ведь это вопрос здоровья! В отеле такого уровня недопустимо наличие «захватанных» тарелок и, простите, недомытых. Очень красивая и ухоженная территория, но пляж ветреный и не самый удобный, но есть бассейны. Если пройдете направо, есть более удобные участки с красивейшими видами."

"Great service from the staff. They made our anniversary extra special for us. We were just a bit disappointed with the food, we mostly ate out at other restaurants when we stayed here. I'd highly recommend a stay in the villa. Unfortunately, the beach side is only good to look at and not good to get into."

"The RIU Turquoise was genuinely one of the best stays I’ve had. The rooms were amazing — spacious, modern, and always spotless. You could tell a lot of care goes into keeping everything at a really high standard. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with clear water and a really relaxed atmosphere, and the pool area is just as impressive — plenty of space, great vibe, and perfect for unwinding. The spa was also a highlight, such a nice place to properly switch off and relax. Food-wise, it really exceeded expectations. Having multiple restaurants gave loads of choice, and everything was consistently good. The steakhouse in particular stood out — easily one of the best meals of the trip. What really made the stay though was the staff. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant teams, was so polite, friendly, and welcoming. The level of hospitality was outstanding and made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. Overall, an amazing hotel with great facilities, fantastic food, and genuinely excellent service — would 100% go back."

"Very good hotel, wake up every day listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Most of the service staff are hospitable. The only dissatisfaction is that the room cleaning is too procrastinating. I left at 9 o'clock in the morning and hung up the hygiene sign. I have not cleaned it up at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Eventually they wanted to come clean and I refused. I needed a break. The hotel has a main restaurant, including four cuisines in Japan, Arabia, Thailand and India. There are also three open-air restaurants, saying that its restaurant is high, in fact, it is an open-air restaurant made of parasols and coconut leaves, which can prevent light rain. The three open-air restaurants are American, Malaysian and seaside barbecue. Whether you are two meals or three meals, each person can not consume more than 4,000 rupees, that is, RMB620.00, more than part of it pays by yourself. Generally, the appetizer soup is 800 rupees, and the main course is about 1200-1500 rupees. Thai food is the cheapest. The appetite is not big, 2,000 rupees is enough. If you need dessert, you may need to add 600-800 rupees. It is recommended that the small amount of meals be ordered including breakfast, and the others order their own meals, plus 10% tip, two people have a meal 600-800 RMB is enough. The sunset on the hotel balcony is also very beautiful"

"I would recommend this hotel. The staff are incredibly attentive, which is really pleasant. I spent a week in a room with a private pool, and it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel restaurant is very good, and the breakfast is super comprehensive with plenty of choices. The spa is also very good. It's a shame the gym isn't more visible, though."

"Aside from the price, there's nothing wrong with it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly team and offered welcome drinks. The host then took us on a tour, explaining the various facilities, the restaurants, and the dress code. We were given complimentary rum punch in our room, and coffee and tea were provided free of charge. Because our flight wasn't until 11 PM, and it was off-season, we asked the front desk, and they gave us a free late checkout until 6 PM. The service was impeccable. If you were wondering around the hotel, a staff member would come and ask if you needed any assistance. The only downside was that it was winter, and the wind was strong, so many sea activities were canceled. However, this didn't affect the beautiful scenery at all. In the morning, we were treated to a stunning sunrise."

"We really liked the hotel: comfortable, cozy, quiet at night, first line, private clean beach with a beautiful view, which was cleaned every morning especially for the comfort of guests. The only thing to consider is that you definitely need to rent a car here, because taxis are expensive and take a long time to wait. But we rented a car, so everything was great. I played golf on the local course, and my wife and I also went to the spa, where Kevina and Sweta gave us a very good massage. There are a lot of small lizards on the territory, but this is a typical story for Mauritius, there are a number of insects that the staff actively fights, and at breakfast you can be bothered by rather impudent sparrows. But the hotel was so good that we did not pay attention to these little things. In general, the hotel is top. I recommend it. Despite the four stars in the hotel rating, it is much higher than many five-star Turkish hotels."

"The beach of Mao Ball really doesn't want to hold too high expectations. This is the third home in Mao Ball. The service and the first two are really incomparable, because the former one lived in a bubble and served too much. There is no comparison here, you can only say that the price is OK, after all, this price is cheaper in the hair ball. To praise the bath water here, because the bubble is open air, so the bath water is cold at night, no matter where the bath water is good in the morning and evening, it is close to the SUPER U flacq shop. Go to the hair ball and try to avoid Sunday. We had 2 weeks of this trip, which was wasted. The public holiday supermarket of Zhoumao Maoshu was closed, the hotel was closed, and the project did not have to play."
