New World Hotels in Shenyang

The hotel boasts an excellent location with views overlooking the Diamond Theatre and the river. K11 Art Mall is right downstairs, offering great convenience for shopping and dining. The hotel is relatively new with good hardware, but the rooms are a bit small. The room design is dim, and with the curtains drawn, it was pitch dark when I first entered, which startled me. The elevator always has a noticeable jolt downwards before leveling with the floor. The hotel's soft services need improvement. The front desk staff, restaurant servers, and the doorman were all good, but the room service was quite poor. When calling, you first encounter a robot customer service, and you need to be transferred to speak to a human. Deliveries take at least ten minutes, and the service staff just handed me the item and left without a word. I saw a service cart unattended near my room door when I was leaving and asked for two bottles of water. The cleaner looked unhappy and said, ”Why didn't you say something? You should call customer service for delivery.” It's my first time encountering a five-star hotel that only provides two bottles of water in the room during hot weather, has such slow delivery service, and even when a service cart is right outside the room, guests are told to call customer service for water. Additionally, the complimentary fruit and dessert for the room were only delivered at check-out time. Overall, my experience with this hotel is that it's all glitter and no substance, with a significant lack of attention to service details.
