What an amazing place and such lovely staff. Our stay was a treat for our 48th wedding anniversary - and what a treat! The building is ancient and beautiful. The stairs are made safe with plenty to hang on to but still in keeping with the house. Loved our bedroom and super comfy bed.I would have liked some information about the hotel in the room - we were told that information was coming that day. The bathroom is modern with a large bath and shower that works easily and well. Dressing gowns provided should you need them and lovely, fluffy towels. Plenty of choice at breakfast and that set us up for the day. Thank you.

Half Timbered splendour ! This was a great stay. It is certainly higher end price wise, but we were keen on a bit of an indulgence stay for one. It is sort of living in history for a while, with a fully superb onsite restaurant. For that "why not" type of stay, Drapers is well worth considering. The room we had, Orange, was modern in fittings, but still having some of the original 15th/16th century building features. The bathroom was as good as any modern 5 star hotel. Location is terrific if you arrive by train and want to walk historic Shrewsbury, like we did. I would think though that bringing a car might offer some challenges around parking.

Lovely a**osphere in very a**ospheric and interesting historical surroundings in 15th century oak panelled dining room. Our food was exceptional. Wine was excellent. All round good value and a great experience. We would definitely eat there again.

Perfectly placed in the centre of town. The hotel has only 6 rooms but each is beautifully presented with good bathrooms, just enough storage space. For style think Wolfhall meeting Wallpaper (the Times is spot on!) Service is very friendly and efficient. Food is excellent and we’ll presented. Wine list is great. Do book a parking spot. Well worth a visit.

We stayed for two nights last weekend and it was a fantastic experience. Drapers Hall is steeped in history and is very central to everything, only a couple of minutes walk to the shops and about 4-5 minutes to the Square. It was great that we didn't have to drive at all once we arrived. It is worth reserving a parking space at the hotel (for a small charge) as you can then leave the car in safety in the small car park at the back of the hotel. Miriam was so helpful and welcoming, the breakfast was lovely with locally used produce, and the bed in our room (Lime Suite) was so comfortable and the shower was great too. This hotel cannot accomodate people with limited mobility due to the age of it, with lots of wonky floors and no lift but it had such a lovely character and feel to it. We went there with our friends and will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Shrewsbury. Thank you to everyone at Drapers Hall for your hard work and hospitality!

An late change of plan saw us book the Drapers Hall on the day of arrival for two nights, without really knowing what to expect. But what we didn't really expect was a place so welcoming, with such wonderful character, history and style, together with a host, Miriam, who greeted us with genuine warmth and charm. Drapers Hall really is a lovely place to stay. We were immediately delighted with our choice of where to stay in Shrewsbury, with cosy rooms and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff all helpful and smiling. The bar in the evening was very nice, well stocked and even had a local real ale on draft. The location of Drapers Hall is perfect for exploring the historic town of Shrewsbury and we highly recommend it.

An absolute treasure of a find. Management and Team could not do enough for us and were so welcoming. We stayed as 2 couples on Saturday July 29th. Location / rooms and breakfast first class. Place has a great a**osphere and "vibe". Excellent value for money. We will definitely be going back. Lady owner (sorry I forgot your name) was superb.

On arrival, Drapers Hall seemed lovely and very well located. Off to a bit of a shaky start as pre ordered car park booking had not been mentioned on booking. We managed to park outside however the 22 hour stay cost £20 and we had to get up early to re-feed meter. We had not brought the physical card used to book, however, we managed to sort card payment in the end. The good room was small but well decorated snd functional. The bed and linen was lovely and the room was comfortable. No local information was available within the room and we realised later on there were no details of Wi-Fi code or local restaurants available. We stayed on a Monday so the on-site restaurant was not available. With no breakfast options, details of local facilities/cafes etc would have been appreciated. The host was super polite and friendly. Then not being on site wax not an issue but even more reason to provide a bit of additional info in the room. Details such as local car parks/ pricing/Wi-Fi and check out details would have been helpful.
