The Rutland Hotel is conveniently located near to the University of Sheffield. Single rooms are not the best however double room are quite nice having a traditional feeling. However both kind of rooms are newly decorated so the rooms and bathrooms are quite nice. The breakfast is good as they prepare made to order eggs, hash browns,mushrooms and tomatos. Overall I like it and will plan to stay again.

The room is so small that I couldn't unfold my suitcase. The bath water was cold, freezing to have a cold. The bed is dirty and wilted ****s were found on the sheets. Don't come to stay.

Relatively ordinary room, very convenient near the school, shopping and transportation are very convenient
The facilities are generally hygienic.
Fortunately, the breakfast surprised me, it was pretty good.

In need of major refurbishment. Shower looks filthy and we didn’t want to use it. All floors creek and the walls are thin so we could hear radio and conversation of people in nearby room and hear person above getting into their bed. Room was dark and decorated in dark colours of purple and brown with wallpaper peeling off. Room was cold but hall ways very warm.

We were in one of the rooms on the top floor. The shower was cold for about 10 minutes the suddenly became warm. It then turned into a trickle and was burning hot and wouldn’t turn down. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was very clean and tidy.

Dirty bathrooms with mould and mildew. incomplete supply of toiletries. No holder for toothbrush. Have to go and request hair dryer everytime.
Rooms either too hot or very cold. Not enough pressure in shower .

Overall it's ok. The property is well located (for us at least.. five mins walk from our daughters) and easy to find. I'd say its a bit tired inside and out.... Expensive to do anything about that and doubtless hotels are still feeling effects of COVID. The messages we had prior to our stay, some from *******, some from hotel often said different things. Our room also had a leak (water dripping through ceiling above bed) and when we called reception were told sorry we're fully booked.... They did find us another room although the heating didn't work so they gave us a stand alone heater which was fine. Would have been nice to have some follow up on that maybe offer of free drink / breakfast or at least a check in to see that things were ok but nothing was said and no formal apology.

Check in was speedy and easy, hotel itself had been extended and the journey to the room was a rabbit warren, but I am not complaining, it all added to the experience. Room itself was fairly bright and airy, bathroom was small but adequate. All in all a good stay.
We had an issue with one of the radiators, which when on made a noise which kept one of us awake at night.
The breakfast was excellent
