"Clean, cozy room at a quiet and convenient location, less than 5 minutes away from JR Akihabara station. Staffs were nice and helpful too - I left a small box at the Keisei Dentetsu, and the hotel reception provided me with a LINE account to seek assistance. I was able to recover it, and I am grateful for their help, even if it might be a small gesture. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Akihabara."

Amazing
AAsiaFamTravelsDirectly connected to the T3 terminal about a 10-15 min covered walk to the Monorail and departure terminal. Super convenient for our 6am flight. It is also connected to a small mall with lots of decent restaurant options and a Pharmacy - totally separate to the main Haneda building. The spa does not permit kids under 4 and it is open to the public as well - 2500 jpy for access. 3 different types of hairdryers in the ladies change room! Small room but has a free minibar and everything is perfectly comfortable and functional including nice bed sheets (although still dodgey overly limp pillows!)

GGuaguaguaguaxiIt was already midnight when we got back to the hotel after watching the fireworks on our first night. After confirming with the front desk that they weren't serving food, we also inquired about nearby convenience stores. As we were preparing to leave, a female staff member at the front desk actually suggested we could order food delivery using Uber Eats. So, we went back to our room and placed an order. After doing so, we called the front desk again, and this time, a male staff member answered. We wanted to clarify if delivery drivers were allowed into the hotel, or if we needed to pick up the food from the lobby. To our surprise, the man curtly said, 'you don't eat anything in your room.' When we then asked if we could eat in the lobby instead, he responded, 'you must eat outside, can't eat anything in the hotel.' We immediately went online to various platforms to see if this was a common Japanese hotel rule we were unaware of. However, our research showed that absolutely no other hotel has such a requirement. What's more, a female staff member had *explicitly* told us we could order takeout in the first place! 🤷 Frankly, I can only interpret this incident as discrimination against Chinese guests.

GGanlanshu1971The location is superb, offering great views. There's a subway station directly below the hotel with a direct line to Shibuya, requiring no transfers. The lobby is very grand with high ceilings. The dining options are quite good, though the breakfast restaurant on the first floor was decent but nothing particularly outstanding. For travelers catching a flight, there's an incredibly convenient airport limousine bus service to both international airports available right in the adjacent building. A trip to Narita Airport costs around 3200-3300 JPY. It's extremely easy to access: just a short 20-meter walk with your luggage to the next building, then another 100 meters inside its lobby to find the ticket counter and bus stop. This easy, direct airport access is likely why many airline crew, including flight attendants and pilots, choose to stay at this hotel. Now for the downsides, which led me to give the hotel's facilities a low rating. The room itself was fine – the sofa, table, chairs, and overall space were good. However, the bedding was severely lacking; the duvet wasn't soft, and the bed was incredibly hard. This made me miss hotels like Atour back home, which, despite other potential shortcomings, at least offer comfortable sleeping arrangements. This hotel appears to be an older 4-star establishment; even the toilet felt outdated. The bedding truly isn't conducive to a good night's sleep, making it a particularly poor choice for light sleepers or those who are particular about their beds. Given the price point – I paid over 2200 JPY per night for two nights – encountering such unsatisfactory bedding was, without a doubt, the worst sleeping experience of my entire trip to Japan. My suggestion is for the hotel to renovate and update its facilities, especially the bedding. It wouldn't actually cost much to upgrade to something better, and just replacing it with higher quality items would make a huge difference. But I wonder if the management, often known for their traditional ways, would consider such an upgrade? I've attached three photos of the view from my hotel room window. While the check-in experience was great, my discomfort began with the sleeping arrangements.

ЮЮрий ИвановThis was my second stay in this hotel while the first time I found the hotel to be good value for money ratio .I don’t know what happened with the hotel this time , but the service level dropped . We arrived around two o’clock ( 1 hour before official check in time ) and the clerk didn’t agree to let us in although we mentioned that we came from far away with two little kids with one of them sleeping in my wife’s hands . The clerk said the room is being cleaned ( which I doubt ) and said come back at 3 sharp . When we came back , it had a huge line ( of those people who came earlier I guess ) picture attached and we spend almost one hour waiting in a line . Hope that the personal can get a better training on empathy and have better service values . The location is good and the breakfast choice is limited in the buffet . Rooms are not big .

GGuest UserFantastic hotel in a great location right off the Ginza metro line. Great restaurant and the bar has an amazing view of the city lights in the evening and of mt Fuji in the day. The service from check in to departure was top notch. Everyone that works at the hotel is friendly and super helpful. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had.

DDMLHAmazing location, ASAKUSA is in a beautiful traditional area of Tokyo. The oldest amusement park was opposite the hotel, the sensoji temple was a few minutes away, station was approx 8 minutes away but you walk through so many little shops that it doesn’t feel like a long walk. Breakfast was yummy, ramen and icecream at night was a great addition after a long of exploring. Oh and the onsen and free pjs was just amazing! Can’t recommend this hotel enough, we loved our stay. Laundry, free washing (including detergent) and dryers were 200 yen for 20 minutes

AAnonymous UserThe hotel room was sizable in pretty expensive but affordable price. My family stayed at a smoking room with one double bed and bathroom with a bath tub because there was no other available room at that time. So we both had a fairly comfortable stay. Perhaps, we pay for what we get. However, the location of the hotel was super convenience. It is nearby the river with a very nice view of Tokyo Sky Tree within short walking distance. It is within 10 minutes walk to the nearest train stations. It also takes you only about 3 minutes to go the nearby convenient store or supermarket. Very ideal if you go to Tokyo for sightseeing Asakusa areas and shopping nearby

TtheshbangBooked this for the convenience and that it was available last minute but would say it’s a bit pricey for what you get. Room is very small but we made it work with 2 big luggages. Washroom was spacious though 😂 The best part about the hotel was the onsen/ public bath which was super comfortable and relaxing (hot bath, cold plunge, sauna, showering stations) and you get free popisicles and yakult depending on what time you go. Free ramen on the first floor from 9:30-11pm too. Service was okay. Location was prime and walkable but a bit of a walk to any station. They do have scooter and e-bike rentals out front with the LUUP app. You can hear the train nearby but didn’t really bother us overnight.

DDaniel069Hotel Akai is a gem in Tokyo! 🌟 Located just a 2-minute walk from Aoto Station, it’s super convenient for exploring the city. The cleanliness is top-notch, making you feel right at home. 🧼 The staff are friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a smile. The facilities, including cozy capsules and private lockers, are perfect for solo travelers like me. While it’s not a luxury stay, the vibe is fun and laid-back. Just be prepared for some train noise at night! Overall, a solid choice for budget-conscious adventurers! 🚆
