Nice cozy room, well-equipped with all facilities. A better option than hotels for more than 3 days trip, especially cooker, washing machine and dryer. The dryer is my favorite - surprisingly very quiet.
Good location and peaceful neighborhood. Front desk is helpful and guidance is very clear.
The only thing is there is no space for luggage. The bulk bed is folded for us as two people living in, but it would be better if we can open it and use it for putting our stuff.

The best thing about the hotel is the slippers, which are much more comfortable than similar hotels. Even the slippers in five-star hotels are not as good as this one. I couldn't bear to throw them away when I left, so I took them home and continued to wear them. The room is well-equipped. Although it is not big, it has everything it needs. The location is also good, not far from Ueno Park and Akihabara.

There are two 1.2 single beds, and a set of high and low beds, which is very suitable for a family of four. Pots, pans, ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, and induction cookers are all available. You can buy vegetables, sausages, fresh fish, etc. for breakfast in the supermarket near the hotel. There are also ramen restaurants, izakayas, etc. nearby. It is about a little more than a kilometer away from the Ginza Shopping Center, which is very convenient. The service is basically self-service, and there is an additional charge for cleaning in the middle. Of course, it is very convenient to maintain it by yourself. The girl and the guy at the front desk are all English-speaking, very American-style pronunciation, and very polite. If you want to experience Japanese home life, it is very suitable for a family of four to live in this hotel.

Location is the best quality of this accommodation. Pictures are deceiving though. Lots of stains on carpet. It’s an old accommodation. Bathroom door was broken and barely moved. Luckily we’re a family so we didn’t need the privacy. Blindes were broken. Shower door was duck-taped. Overall though it was fine. Who comes to Japan to stay in their lodging?

Everything about the hotel is good, except that it is self-service mode. It was raining heavily that day and I couldn't enter the hotel lobby. It was so cold outside. I called the hotel robot, but couldn't find a live person to connect. After tossing around outside for 1 and a half hours, the hotel finally replied and sent me the lobby password and room check-in password. The room is 1.4 meters and the bed is very small. The bed is low and the pillow is low. It also sprained my waist when I was sleeping.

Lyf shibuya is located just opposite Parco, a hip and high-end shopping mall. While it's some distance from Shibuya station from a train-at-your-doorstep perspective, there are plenty of nice shops and restaurants nearby and from there you can practically walk to Daikanyama, Harajuku or Aoyama.
I didn't use any of the amemities but some may like the gym and washer/dryer units there.
I joined as a hotel member and got one free breakfast, which was a nice selection and tasty one.
Picking Lyf the second time as I like its decor after staying at the Ginza one. The staff are generally young and wear a happy face. The hotel just has an upbeat vibe.

VValerieWe stayed here for 3 nights. And I must say it is one of the best hotels i have stayed at in Tokyo. During my first visit to Tokyo last 2024, we stayed in Hilton Tokyo. But on our second visit this May 2025 with my family, we chose to stay within Asakusa area. I have read a lot of good reviews of Asakusa Tobu Hotel, so we tried to book a room here for 3 nights. We arrived around 11am, the staff at the front desk told us that the check-in time is 2pm but since they have available rooms, he allowed us to check-in earlier without a fee. Wow!
The room is very clean, like newly built, water flow is great, amenities are complete. My son also enjoyed the bath tub. The CORNER TWIN ROOM A is big enough for our family of 3. We even stayed there for a whole day because we were very tired walking around tokyo the previous days so we rested for a whole day. And we had the best stay in Tokyo. The breakfast is also great. Ample food choices. They even let you take out the food if you are not able to dine in (if you are leaving early for a tour, you can ask them for take out boxes for breakfast and they will gladly provide you).
We will definitely book here again!

GGuest UserI have mixed feelings about this stay because of the inconsistent service level experienced throughout the stay. For instance prior to checking in I emailed to request the lowest floor possible and 2 extra pillows due to back problems, and advised that my traveling companion would not be arriving until the last night. I was told that my friend would have to register at the Front Desk upon arrival.
I arrived about an hour early for check in, and was told by a male employee that although my room was ready I couldn’t check in using the kiosk until 3pm🤔 He also asked if I really needed 2 extra pillows - yes I said, but I’ll take 1 if that’s all they had. So I settled down in the lounge and started charging my phone.
At 245pm a female employee came up to me saying my room was ready so go ahead and check in on the kiosk. I was placed on the highest floor, got 1 extra pillow that was as hard as a rock. The bed was also very hard so I had very little sleep and my back is now hurting so bad 😭.
2 days later my friend arrived so I took her to the front desk to get her registered but was told that it wasn’t necessary 🤷🏻♀️ We went upstairs so she could shower and were about to head out for the evening when she noticed that she would need another towel set for when we returned later that night because she would need to wash her hair and she had mistakenly placed her towel on the floor after using it. So I called and requested another set and was asked, “Don’t you already have 2 sets?” I said yes, but one was used and could we get a clean set, and she said yes but they’ll collect the used set, so I said that’s fine. 5 minutes later I met the employee at the door with the used set in my hands to exchange for the new set and she says no, just keep it in the room 🙄
Finally upon checkout day, we got a call from a male employee at 1113am saying that checkout was at 11am and I replied that I could’ve sworn it was at 12 but that we were ready to leave so we’d be right down. He responds in a scolding tone that he will charge me ¥2000 for late checkout. We get to the checkout counter and my friend notices on a flyer that it says “Checkout at 12noon” on it for GranVista members, which I am (I signed up for it when I checked in. I show my membership to the female employee and she says oh ok, then calls another employee over to discuss what to do, then she asks me to open my app again so she can write down my membership #, then she says ok now you can go back to the room and wait til 12noon to checkout. I said no thanks we’re already vacated and will be leaving. It was just a very strange experience and left me feeling less than satisfied despite all the fun amenities and well-equipped rooms.

AAnonymous UserI arrived early morning hence was only able to leave my luggage at the reception. Check in was at 2pm and the hotel was nice to accept my request prior to booking for a room on the ladies floor for security reasons and I am also a solo traveller. Amenities like toothbrush, comb and tea packets are provided at the reception too. My only wish is that I hope in future the Hotel can provide at least an international or English movie channel for foreign guests.

Great
GGuest UserThe hotel is convenient for traveling by metro, immediately after exiting to the right, there is an entrance to the subway. The staff is polite, just like everywhere else in Japan. Disadvantages: the choice of dishes for breakfast is small, breakfast cannot be excluded from the price. The dining room is very small and it is difficult to find a place for breakfast in the morning. I asked the staff to write down what the dishes are made of. But they refused to write what includes into dishes ( f.e. salad ingredients). They said that they need to coordinate the permission to describe the composition of the dishes with the management. But It wasn't wasn't agreed in all my 5 days stays. I don't eat meat, and there was meat in the vegetable salad. It is not visible from above, it was in the middle of the ”vegetable” salad. About safety, it's a separate complaint. On the night of 29-30/11/2024, at about 2:10 a.m., the fire alarm went off. The voice notification was in Japanese only, for about 40(!) minutes. With the help of a Google translator, I realized that needed to run outside. The staff should was find reason of problem. Actually it takes for a maximum of 15 minutes to find reason of 'fire” ( 1. to see on display correct place 2.to see by own eyeson both floors). After the signal in Japanese ended in 40 minutes, people began to come back. When people was going to fall asleep again, after 3-4 minutes the alert was swithed troug ht speakers again with the same text but in English. It was turned off in about 5 or 10 minutes. Afterwards in 5 minutes, they started setting up the notification (Japanese text was coming through the speakers). But that's not all. In the morning, at 6:30, a general ”good morning” alert went out thought speakers to the entire hotel. It was impossible to get enough sleep that night. The staff put a paper with apologies under everyone's door in the morning time. There was zero information about how many times and how long were swithed on speakers and other details and explanations of triggers. During this sleepless night, the visitors received only a formal letter. Obviously, there was no fire and they didn't write anything about the duration, numbers and reasons of all alarms. After this night - only a formal letter? It was possible to honestly admit that there was no fire and there are problems with the functioning of the fire safety warning system (EVACS).Conclusion: technically, the fire alarm system is not configured. The staff is not trained. In general, there are some risks.

CCancanOverall a good hotel for short stay.. Comes with all basic amenities like pyjamas, water machine, free drinks machine, breakfast, Onsen etc... The only downside is the size of the room.. Barely had space to maneuver or open luggage.. Not too far from Ikebukuro station but not exactly near either after you had a long day.. Around 10minutes walk depending on speed.
